Looking for some Feedback about collection of photos taken in Granada, Spain couple of months ago.  Link to the Album:

https://autumnsky.zenfolio.com/p32736316

None of these photos have been uploaded to stock anywhere.  What do you think is good candidate?  Obviously Alhambra, but looking at Adobe and others, it has been overshoot to death.  Would you still upload, and what?  Is there something you'd make Alamy exclusive (in hope of eventually fetching $$$).  You can assume good technical quality.  Any comment / suggestion is welcome!

Really nice side light on this one. Could work well on micros, but hard to say whether it will really sell as it doesn't depict a major landmark. But you might want to straighten the image, it tilts to the right.
No idea about Alamy, I personally never submit anything as exclusive there.

I've been to Granada twice (my son spent a year at Uni there). Anyway, my $0.10 worth.

The Alhambra has been photographed to death; when I type "granada alhambra" into Shutterstock, I get 45,163 stock photos. But there is much more to Granada than the Alhambra. There are great squares in the old part of town. There are interesting shops, streets, bars and restaurants. And there is a part of Granada where people live in caves.

You have a few of those shots so those, plus the city panoramas, are what I would be focused on.

Then again, you could just upload all of them because you never know when one might sell.

Was there just before xmas in 2021 for a few days, so the light wasn't great. Enjoyable town.

As most places, the results were very poor with few sales, but I was mainly focused on book covers.

Was before I had a drone so probably would have been a cool place to shoot from above.

Thanks Mike.  Good catch, I straighten all my images, but I missed this one.
Interesting pick though;  this one would be in bottom half of my choice.  This is why I am interested in other people opinions

Thanks Alex.  Very realistic to see your windfall.
But Granada is beautiful, isn't it.  I am now sorry I spent only 4 nights (3 days).  Should have at least full week.  I am outdoors oriented, and would really enjoy exploring Sierra.  There was road heading up there, major ski area I believe.

It could make good wall art. So would a lot of your photos on Zenfolio and especially those featured on your Hot Chart slideshow. Very outstanding.

Have you uploaded to Fine Art America? Or considered selling direct?

Thanks.  I had port on Fine Art America, but removed few years ago due to almost zero sales.
I do sell directly on occasion.  Most notably about a dozen or so images for Canadian Rockies Trail Guide 10th Colour Edition

It's not my area of specialty, but Steve Heap travels a lot and sells a lot of wall art - plus he's also written a book about it.

But I can see a lot of your photos on people's walls.  :)

Thanks for the mention! I have been to Granada as well in 2015 on a drive from Madrid down to the south coast. Total sales for Granada images on stock sites since 2015 - $41! "Spain" was much better with $700 but that was from the sales of 500 different images so you can see the income per image!

I don't tend to sell many European places on FAA or my other sites - mainly focused on a US (and to some extent) a UK audience for print sales. The key thing is to obviously market them - it is very different to stock in that.

Thanks for comment Steve;  from someone like you it definitely puts lots of things into perspective.  So I don't expect much (anything), or as Alex said it might be enough for dinner given enough time.   Overall in rapidly deteriorating microstock market I find my Canadian mountain landscapes hold the best.

But I did upload just today Nasrid photo I really like (Top of Thread) to Alamy.  Yes, there are 10000+ shots of this place, but I still like mine.  So there.

Yes, those Canadian landscapes are pretty impressive! The viewer count seems very low though - 18 for the one with the snow-covered bench with lake beyond.

I always think that if I have gone to the trouble to process an image to put it somewhere (to sell as a print perhaps), I might as well upload it to the stock agencies as that step is not much effort these days. I know there is always a risk that someone wanting a print will buy a stock photo instead, but I doubt if that happens very often and if they are so keen to save money, they might just download one of my images for free and print that in Walmart.

But good luck with Alamy!

Thanks Steve.  I have nowhere as much knowledge and experience like you, but if anything I learned this industry is very unpredictable.  Very casual shot of Hiking Trailhead in California, taken primarily for documenting my outdoor exploits, fetched $1875 on Alamy (gross, not a typo).  But overall basic principle of economy applies here too.  Supply / Demand.   Everyone knows about Lake Louise in Banff National Park, Canada.   I live within an hour, so over the years I took some pretty good shots.  Return - almost zero.  Reason? Huge supply, mainly tourist.  Similar with Alhambra - I am just reading it is completely sold out till end of May, and due to smartphone advancement everyone is photographer nowdays.  This is the bottom line in my opinion.

Here's shot of Lake Louise I really like.  It's a composite of 6 frames, Full-frame Canon body, L-lens, stitched in Photoshop.  Clean and sharp as a whistle.

Net Return?  Zero

(Snow Covered Bench was used by XP for new generation of their monitors, so it has some return)
