Since I haven't seen one of these yet and I have added up my totals I thought I'd start one...

November was the worst month for me since Jan 2011.  That is the big picture.

Basically the all of the sites that tend to be very up and down were down (Alamy, Veer, etc.) in fact not a sale on Alamy - although a nice one Dec 1 sort of helps. Then the bigger earners were all so-so months. Not the worst, but not enough to make up for the others. Some of the lower earning sites did quite well, but are such small potatoes that they don't really make much difference. As usual SS is the big kahuna and I had one good week there and the rest were so-so to lousy adding up to being the second worst month of the year there - and since they are around 50% of my totals, that makes a big difference, especially when no other site steps up.

Hopefully December can keep the momentum going before it screeches to a halt for the holidays.

IS exclusive here; my streak of year over year revenue declines remained intact:

Sep down 44%
Oct down 49%
Nov down 29%

I suppose I should take comfort that Nov's year over year decline wasn't as bad as the previous months. Except Nov 2013 was one of my worst months that year, down considerably from previous months. So really nothing positive here.

Down -19% from October, 2014.

Down -26% from November, 2013.

Worst month-over-month and year-over-year losses yet (I started in 2005, doing mostly illustrations).

Hate to think what December will be like.  :'(

IS Exclusive.

Well, I said I'd give it a little time to see how this new IS licensing works and November gave me my answer. Party's over for me. When I looked at my financial trends a couple years ago I already knew where things were headed. But they were declining slowly. After this latest change things dropped like a rock. Especially November. This is the worst month I've had since early 2010 when I had 1/4 of the images I have now. It's now taking a week to earn what I used to get in a day or less. Time for a change.

From Oct 2014: Down 50%
From Nov 2013: Down 60%
From Nov 2012: Down 75%

It`s ok for me.

Surprised how bad November was.  Usually my best month of the year.  It was 10% down from October and 28% down from the last November.

Hope the first two weeks of December are good because I know there are very bad sales second half of the month.

For me November was down but not too bad.  It dropped 24% from an exceptionally good October, and lost 2% from November 2013.  Shutterstock was down 28%, but that was from my BME and still managed to be my #2 month there.  CanStock was the worst loser, dropping 78% vs. October.  But most sites were down from October.  Still, it could have been worse, and it may not be much more than a seasonal adjustment.

IS WME since starting in 2006. Needless to say more ...  :-\
The ongoing IS downtrend is clearly visible.

Worst month since february 2014

Shutterstock - 35% - No sales of new images, only the old ones have sold
Dreamstime >> Nightmarestime
Fotolia + 100% !!!! BME
iStock Waiting Pee Pee
123RF + 10% BME
Some unexpected sales on FAA and Alamy have saved my month, without these I would have been 50% under my normal income.

Its ok. SS leads, followed by istock,pond5 and stocksy, then fotolia.

I upload more, I earn more. The way it should be.

This was the worst of the best months in a year EVER!
If November is bad as this it was, what will be with December, January etc.?

Compared to...

Oct 2014: Down 10%
Nov 2013: Same almost to the dollar

While this looks better than the results other veterans have posted here, I'm still disappointed.

I uploaded way more in 2014 than any other year.  And I've completely revised my strategy for picking subject matter.  In 2014 I've been much savvier than I've been in prior years, in terms of finding new niches and keywording.

So this year taught me that if you double your output, and make great strides in improving your workflow and how you choose subject matter, you MIGHT only see a modest decline.

Not the results I wanted to see, not by a long shot.

November normally one of the best months of the year was just average for me. Very average!
The outlook for the winter (with traditional poor months like December and January) is not very warming.
Hopefully the next traditional good month (March) is what it used to be (I have my doubts though)

A mixed bag. Shutterstock had a BME, up 39% over Oct 14 and 7.5% over Nov 13. As they're the big dog in my earnings at the moment, that's great.

However, Dreamstime has been pitiful lately, and so although it was up 84% over a disastrous Oct 14, it was still down 33% over Nov 14.

123rf has been in very sad shape after a fairly long run of steady sales - down 23.5% on Oct 14 and 23% on Nov 14 (it would have been worse but for a bunch of LELs on Nov 30th, so I'm not at all optimistic about things there.

PhotoDune did really well - up 21% over oct 14 and 72% over Nov 13 - but it's  relatively a smaller player. A bad month on 123rf is better than a good month at PhotoDune :(

GL Stock had a little spurt of sales, which was nice, but they're very erratic. However both they and Canva beat a truly pathetic CanStock.

November has always been a very strong month for me (both Christmas and Caribbean images sell well) and possibly the good performance at SS is a switch to older images that some others thought had happened. I haven't uploaded any new Christmas images this year.

FAA had a sale (not huge, but again, they beat CanStock, GL Stock, and Canva with that one sale, so can't complain too much).  IS sales are too small (with only 100 images left there) to really judge anything, and there are no Christmas images in the 100.

Average month. About 15% less than October in total as a result of few high revenue RM sales. Also, the minor Micro sites had been very low (DT, Veer, etc.). SS had a average to good month.

Another BME on Stocksy.  SS down from October %35 and even down from September.  First payout finally came from Canva - made it over the $100.

BME on Shutterstock, perhaps barely on iStock...won't know until PP comes in. I'm new to DT, so I had a BME there as well, though they're in fourth place in the poll for a reason. My Symbiostock site is doing about as well as DT for me. People seem to be finding the images on Google and actually buying them, which is nice. I now have a couple of repeat customers, so a big thank you to them! I've been uploading like crazy. Things have already dropped off substantially this month, which is what I expected.

Wonder if our floundering sales are partly due to all the ex-exclusives getting up to speed as indies?

As norm, SS was 60% of my overall.

I am dropping Veer and Featurepics as soon as I get payout, but I may not be in micro by then.  56 cents to go on Veer.

I don't have much seasonal content so I was down in November by 33% over October. However, compared to last year I am up 51% in $$ (but -26% in DLs)

Stocksy 58%
SS 28%
DT 8%
FT 6%

The word to describe November this year is "horrible"! I am down 7% from October and 17% down compared to last year November. My biggest lost comes from Shutterstock, and the POD's have not picked up for the holidays as they have done in the last few years.

My best four for November were: DepositPhotos, Zazzle, Shutterstock, 3dRose

Wow, Shutterstock really did take a dive there.  You must have suffered from a new best match algorithm or something...

for me, I was up from last year's November, but down a bit from Oct... so Ok but not as good as usual.  November is generally my best month.

I hate saying things that are just negative. Let me put it this way... At IS, Dec. regular downloads, just passed Nov. for me. (yes I know the PP aren't in) But that's how bad Nov. was. So there's your positive / negative?

December is already beating November.  ;D
