You all have some really nice stores. I am impressed with you all! I joined a lot of your fan clubs. I trade as Eggznbeenz on Zazzle, I only just got into it, so I am still learning how the site works.

Added you, Clivia.

Cclapper, I saw that "beta advanced" option but I didn't look further into it.

Thanks all for adding to my fan club. Clivia, I just joined yours also.

Beta advanced, still didnt figure it out. Don't even know how to add the flash panel to my zazzle store.

I've been on Zazzle as SJS Creations since March of 2008, and a few days ago I sold my 100th item.  Mostly it's been small stuff (stickers, postcards, a few posters), but occasionally I get a decent big sale.  The traffic on it is pretty steady, but I advertise my store on Myspace, Facebook and Craigslist.  It's fun, but it can be time consuming sometimes.  If you want to take a look, my store is at the following link: http://www.zazzle.com/sjstevenson*

cathyslife

wow, sstevenson, you have a ton of products. I think that zazzle is going to be like microstock...it's a numbers game. Once a person gets a whole boatload of products up, the sales start rolling in.

P.S. Love your avatar. You are very handsome.   ;)

Bringing this thread back to life....

Just got my store up ..with a few products for now. Think I will take One day off and devote to Zazzle for making Products and figure out Marketing it. Might add a crapload of people to Myspace and Facebook then pop in the link on them.

Some sites say they give you a crown but in reality, it is just a polished toilet seat.

I've been with them for about 12 months or so, but it is generally slow - I sold some stamps in the early days ! :-[

However, I put some effort into creating a nice calendar of my best photos of Kauai, won a Best product award ( back in February), and the calendar has sold pretty well over Christmas. 8 copies sold for a total income (at 15% royalty) of $18.95! You are a bit out of control of the pricing as they had several offers on calendars during December which reduces the commission, but I guess a sale is a sale! Now I need to do a bit of editing and create a 2012 version of the calendar.

Good luck with your stores!

Congratulations, that's very good going on Zazzle for one product. Best of luck with the new version!

Thanks! I'm sure that part of the problem of overall low sales is the lack of appropriate advertising and linking to your products and so I have been trying to mention them in related blogs and web sites. I neglected to put a link to the calendar in the previous post - here is my blogged entry on the calendar to try to build some traction: http://www.backyardsilver.com/?p=246

On a different, but related topic of earning additional money, has anyone had success with Amazon affiliate program with their links to commercial products? On the same blog I did a review of the x-rite colorchecker and signed up to the Affiliate program: http://www.backyardsilver.com/?p=260. Is this worth putting time and energy into?

My plan was to get people viewing my store first before I started counting the imaginary dollars ;)   ... then adjust my product pricing accordingly rather than being universal across all products. My one calendar just happened to be in that temporarily lower pricing as my store hasn't been out there for more than two weeks yet. I hope to cross 1000 products by the end of this next week though ...

Some nice products!  Can I ask how well these sell - I don't have anywhere near as many products, but apart from my calendar, it has been very thin.

This month was better at Zazzle than at any  of the micros. ::)

I only wished  that volume bonus would count as a sum of all their mirrors.

I just found out that there is unusually lot of views of my products (invitation cards) with New Year 2011 motive. I didn't why when it's obviously too late to order them but I'm afraid that I found out - small previews contain no watermark.  I'm afraid that people download them and send them via email with their best wishes. I have no other explanation :-/

Steheap,

I've only just started my store 10 days ago  ;) but I am tackling Zazzle with great enthusiasm as I usually do when I sink my teeth into something I like. I'll let you know. Its starting to get some traffic ...

You get huge spikes in views when the bots are crawling over you stuff in order to index them for the search engines. It's a good thing!

How did you get that rotating panel onto your Zazzle page? I know how to get that into your blog or personal website, but did you directly edit the code on the Zazzle page to get it on your shop page?

I just have not had any luck with Zazzle. I don't know if I have the wrong products or what it is. I haven't had one sale. I kinda gave up on it. Do most of you have websites you market it on? How do you go about it?

Here's my store....if there is something I'm not doing right please tell me so I can change it. I won't be insulted... :D

I had some sales with a small store. Less than I had expected, enough to keep me interested.

Indeed, it is fun to create products on Zazzle and they have quite a wide range of products.

What I don't like:
- Previews are often cr*#%%y due to their ridiculous jpg compression. It must discourage at least some potential buyers.
- Legal issues: they have products with the Eiffel tower at night or snapshots of the Belgian royal family sold as postcards. Except for US Postage they seem to have no inspections, all products go online with a delay of a few minutes.

You have that rotating panel of products as well  - I can't seem to find the option to put that on the home page!

The site looks OK to me - I like the calendar (you have been to the same waterfalls as me - looks like Cucumber falls on one of them!).

I sold 8 of my Kauai calendar this December, and, while I was lucky to get a best product award, the only external marketing I had was to mention the calendar a few times during the year on my blog. It is also possible that someone searching for a specific location for a calendar is more likely to find one than a more generic places of beauty title? Maybe having it named and tagged as waterfalls may get more traction?

However, I'm only learning here, and plan to try to create a niche of products - although I missed the Christmas season with this product: http://www.zazzle.com/waiting_for_santa_card-137526653313345648, I think I will focus on a bengal cat set of products with cards, mugs etc. and perhaps some more calendars.

I had to go back and google it to figure it out. When you create a product it always opens up your flash panel after you've created it. You need to copy the code next to that box. Now go to "My account"  tab "store" . Under "Store Settings" there is the option to "edit basic information" click on that and paste the code in that box and save. I actually had a hard time trying to figure it out myself, that was why I googled it.
Here's a link to the google page also, but I still had trouble figuring it out from that page, but enough of a description to figure it out.

And thanks for the advice on the calendar. Actually the waterfalls are from North Carolina and Alabama. Where is Cucumber Falls? I've never heard of it.

steheap

Thanks for the help - I will try that on my store!

Cucumber falls is in the Ohiopyle state park in Pennsylvania http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-64026943/stock-photo-cucumber-falls-in-ohiopyle-state-park-in-pennsylvania.html. I thought your image for March in your calendar looked very similar.

Your welcome. Hope it works.
Actually March is a shot of River Falls in River Falls Alabama. It's in southern Alabama which is kinda unusual. The falls are usually up in northern Alabama. Heh if you've never been to western North Carolina and you love waterfalls, I'd suggest you go. Over 250 waterfalls in that area and they are beautiful.

Go To Associates / Promotion Tools / Flash Panel and it will tell you how you can customize a new one. I put it into the description field under "basic information" under "Description" at the end of my introduction ...
