Today, Thursday, is also HORRIBLE, like $5 again.  There has to be something else happening. They must have tweaked their best match, but I am on track to make $100 this month when I make 6-8 times that per month.

Um. I think we need to wait more than 1.5 days out of 31 to decide how much we will make this month!

It's a conspiracy I tell ya, a * conspiracy!! :P

It's a jungle out there.

Well it seems my portfolio got lost in that jungle since yesterday

When I see yet another doom and gloom thread about sales over on SS I purposely remind myself that the regular forum scribblers probably add up to less than 5% of the of the active contributor base - and that any day now someone else will start a BME thread.

well I won't start one... but I'd say that things are going just fine at SS. :D

Well, just as long as there is a balance between the doom and gloom and BME posts, all is fine in stock world.

Unfortunately I am down 50% so far on nearly all my sites, with SS being one of them (+1 for the gloom side).

Don't we all just hate this economy which can shift 50% from one week to the next...  :o

Someone else mentioned global economy for the downfall, maybe over a long period of decline, but not from one day to another, where my sales fall by 50% after a rocking April. As mentioned before, the last time I saw these sales figures was around christmas 2012 with 250 less images.

Doing fine as usual, not maybe BME but as usual. Next month 3 days into it we'll get the same doom and gloom, conspiracy, claims of search change and all same people who waite the same here and at SS forum. No shuffle no news. These ppl must watch the downloads every hour to see is they made 39 cents.

Think it is safe though to start making a call after a week (25% of the months income) if you are heading towards a BME, average or bad month. Not to say it can not turn, but if you have a 50% deficit to make up after a week, it will take some exceptionally great sales to get the month back on track (well at least in my case with my port).

Guilty as charged ... but mine are only 33 cents.   8)

This time around their sort clearly show they are investing in smaller members with smaller portfolios hoping it will save them lots of money in payouts.
They are in fact doing an FT on us. Who would have thought this was ever going to happen with an agency like Shutterstock?

Well, then I would be getting a lot of downloads then, and I dont. I dropped too, and I am a 'smaller'  member.  ( what a weird thing to say, smaller member  ;) )

I wish you more downloads :)  I am quite new to this forum but have 14 years experience in stock photography. Never seen such a perfect demise in the stock world as seen right now.
Somebody I know there have a portfolio of 9000 images and have fallen from 400 dollars per day to 150 dollars and thats during the last two weeks.
We are not alone thats for sure.

Could it be that the cake is being sliced more thinly because of all the ex-exclusives signing up there? (Mind you, it feels as though many buyers went with them.)

Poncke v2

How about Bigstock? People are reporting big increase in sales there. Bigstock sells images for 16 cents, Shutterstock subs are 23 cent. What if buyers are copping on and are going to BS in masses? I never understood why they introduced cheaper images at BS, undercutting your own business. I am sure they thought this through, but it seems like a very unsmart business decision from the start. Maybe I am just a simpleton, probably missing something.

Since the bridge to BS I have always done well there. My sales though are a lot more then 0.23c.

Not talking about royalty, but the price of an image.

They have more than 26 million images, about 75.000 added last week. Which is not more than it used to be.
Obviously dilution plays a big role in that game, but that can't be responsible for the large drops some people are reporting.

I personally don't see much change in either direction. Anyway, my numbers are too small to be statistically relevant.
