Anyone using one for timelapse and live action?  I've been looking at this one by dynamic perception but the price seems low compared to other manufacturers.  It looks to be a few thousand less than a Kessler.  http://www.dynamicperception.com/Stage-One-Complete-2-Axis-Motion-Control-Bundle-p/bdl-1-c2a.htm
Any thoughts on this? 

Dynamic Perception were one of the first to have a complete solution on the market. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them based upon what I've read online.

Take that for what it's worth as I'm not an owner of any Dynamic Perception or Kessler products. I use my Cinemoco (which is considerably less expensive than the Dynamic Perception solution) and love it! I really like the flexibility of straight or curved moves.

Might be worth a look at Edelkrone. They have a modular system that you can build into. I'm very tempted however haven't purchased or used one yet so can't speak from experience but their system does look good to me.

elvinstar, I'm a little hesitant about the one you posted.  A belt driven model would seem to be more reliable. Have you found that it produces consistent results, I guess I'd worry that the wheels would slip and not be as precise. 
Will, my worry about the edelkrone system is that it would be unbalanced and maybe tilt as the slider itself moves.

The other thing I would like is vertical lift as well as horizontal movement.

I would definitely love vertical tilt. It's the one thing that I feel is really missing regarding the Cinemoco. However, I have had very good results in both shoot-move-shoot mode and continuous mode.

I will see them at Photokina next month. I´ll ask them if they have a US distributor.

I saw these before, the price and features look good but I would wait at least a month until some reviews come in.

FWIW I first purchased the Stage One setup from DP and while they were very good to work with, the product felt cheap. With my 5D and a 70-200 (heavy lens, yes) it would bow in the middle. This was two sections connected for a total of 4 feet. This combined with a couple of other glitches and I returned the system and bought a Kessler setup. So much happier.

Thanks for your input.  I would like a shorter version of the stage zero but it looks like it only comes as a 6ft piece.  How was it using something a little lighter like a wide prime?  Did it feel good doing verticals?

The rails on the Stage one never quite matched up for me so, the movement was never smooth. The DP support believe I had a bad batch of rails. I also hated the interface of the motion box it came with – it felt like 1970s tech. I just can't recommend the platform. There are so many options now that it just doesn't make sense. Do you have a budget in mind?

I see they are on their 3rd version of the controller, is that what you had or an older one?  I'd like to keep my budget under $2,000 for this.

For around $2000, you could just squeeze in the Second Shooter 3 axis system from Kessler with a Pocket Dolly 2.0. That would give you a a really nice, portable setup.
