I went to see my stats at two of my best performers, SS and Fotolia, with a lot of curiosity last night, since Fotolia is making some big changes now. After an initial  Fotolia boost last week, the things are back to normal, with SS winning. SS fought off another attack. Who is next?

Just wait.

Just wait for lower pay, more profit for Adobbe? You double this month because FL couldn't go any lower for 2 years.

You're right. Seriously, Adobe is now saying, "here's what we get from FT now, how do we get more moving forward?" There is really very little chance they will enact changes that up commissions. My guess is that they will use the go-to carrot everyone else uses: the infamous volume argument.

sharpshot

I don't think they could pay less, they would lose most of their content.  The way to make more money is the way Shutterstock do it.  Make it viable for contributors to at least maintain their earnings and the site thrives.  Follow the Getty/istock strategy and profits will soon dry up.

Will those who believe that the acquisition of any company by a bigger company is good news for anyone apart from those at the very top of the acquiring company, please form an orderly queue to have their blinkers and rose tinted spectacles removed.
Thankyou. :)

Does that tell how much you will get for a cloud download subscription sale? Didn't think so. Just wait means, bend over and get ready.

Will those who believe in doom and gloom and can´t stop whining about it just leave (micro)stock and let others get on with business?
Thank you  ;)

Ah! Denial! A serious case too!
May things continue to go so well for you, but if you ever need it the queue is always there!
Thank you too. :)

Doesnt sound like youve been in this business very long. And on msg very long as well. Its very difficult for many of us to just "pick up and leave". May be easy for you to say, much harder for many to do since the income plays a key role in their overall income.

Secondly, there is very rarely a thread where someone can proudly post that an agency, either through the goodness of their hearts or by acquisition, has come out to proclaim that this is a big win for contributors. The likes of IS, DP. FT (yes, your FT), 123, alamy have all enacted strategy (i call them schemes) to claw back as much commission as possible, footing their wealth on the backs of us. And you now come in here and say we are just complaining and if we dont like it leave? That adobe is somehow going to sprinkle fairy dust on our commission base and bring reasonable returns to the contributor? The fact that FT/adobe upped the extended license is meaningless. If every contributor does not have theirs set at the max allowed, they are contributing to the erosion of microstock. That change alone would not have affected me because all my work was set at 100. If Ft cared about our commissions, why not auto set el to the max instead of the other way around?

Sorry, but i believe that its wishful thinking that adobe is going to intentionally enact strategic activities around pleasing the contributor. Its all about the bottom line, not the top line, but the bottom line. And we effect the bottom line that is so important to the agencies and we are the easiest targets to get instant results. That mentality will never change.

No news about The Chad being hung out to dry, then?

Still there, Talked to him a few days ago. doing well.

Well, that'll keep me away from the place then.

I don't know why people are giving you minuses for passing on the info.

Stock_Pro

I tryed to covert my credits, and it says I have to wait 45 days from my first sale...?!.  And nowhere in payments info on site is written this fact...
Hope this methods dissappear with the Adobe. Some changes will/should occur.

There is an Adobe logo on the web site.  I feel much better seeing it.  So that is an benefit.

The Adobe logo means we're going to start to need to pay Fodobe $20/month to submit our work. But that includes immediate upgrades for review times.

Next time you phone Chad could you ask if it's Benito Mussolini or Francisco Franco who was his most influential childhood idol?

It wasn't so bad when he was just 'Chad' but when he started appearing on the forums as 'THE CHAD', I thought.."Oh, dearie me, this is the future of FT!". ;D

Yep. Me too. Weird dat innit?

Noedelhap

Very few sales this week indeed. I wonder if the Adobe takeover has anything to do with that.

No Free Lunch

Just curious what are some of the overall ranks to better judge if that has merit on sales- I know my overall rank isn't very good thus explaining so my low sales- I bet folks would ranks of less than 2,000 are making big bucks! Someday I will reach the 2,000 or less club - someday...

I'm in that club and my sales have slowed this week.  Not too worried yet, as the week after Easter is never great one due to some people taking holidays.

hatman12

Yep, Europe is Fotolia's biggest market, and many people in Europe take advantage of the long Easter weekend by adding extra holiday days so they get the whole week off.  Not surprised FT is slightly slower this week.

4 months and we get a logo, nothing?

"It's premature to outline the exact type of integration and pricing we could offer, however we do anticipate this will be a value-add service and there will be extra cost associated with using it for Creative Cloud members," Adobe said. Fotolia is largely a European company, but Adobe plans to increase its profile in the US, the company said.

"As we integrate Fotolia, we believe our members will use Creative Cloud as the place to discover and buy great content -- and also as a place where they can sell and showcase their work," said David Wadhwani, general manager of Adobe's digital media business, in a blog post.

Every so often I search Twitter and Google to find any developments.

Today, I found a month-old job listing.

QuoteCustomer service representative to provide support in North America for stock photography, integrated as a key part of Adobe's Creative Cloud (www.fotolia.com).

bad to the bone

Adobe can't lower prices, because all professionals in Microstock market uses Adobe Software. They can't because that would cause an image problem for Adobe.
Payouttime is still the same as ever (too long, 3 weeks in averrage).

In my case something changed a lot! The balance between credit- and subscription sales changed from 1:2 to nearly 2:1. At a level of roundabout 200 sales at month this change can completely change my strategy with all other agencies.

Will say, more pictures exclusively to FT, less effort with others, more earnings at FT. Some years ago i owned position 118 in overall ranking.

Maybe, FT has duped their contributors and also Adobe by announcing more subscription sales than there are. After the acquisition it is unusual that Adobe does a change, it has to be done by the old management.
If i had the new numbers and earnings in the past, i hadn't gave so much pictures at so much other players.

Hope this will getting a consist status.
