Thank you Mat,

As I got all the creative apps I have a question:

I already have a subscription for photoshop and lightroom on the same account, will this payment stop automatically or do I have to cancel this subscription?

This question has been asked in a couple of different ways here and the answer applies to all. If the subscription you currently have is EXACTLY the same as the new subscription provided with the bonus code, then you can redeem the bonus code and the expiration date will simply extend by 1 year.

If however, the subscription you have is different in any way (such as the amount of cloud storage included) then redeeming the bonus code will open a new subscription running in parallel with the old one. You need to cancel the old subscription or you will continue to pay for it.

As many of you have discovered, the codes are applied to the contributor portal for those who have qualified. Thank you to everyone for your active contribution and helping to make Adobe Stock what it is. We are truly grateful to you for your efforts and hope you enjoy the year of Creative Cloud!

As always, stay creative!

Mat,

Based on my experience, it can be tricky. I thought my current plan was the "generic photography plan". However, I did run into the parallel subscription issue. I think what may have happened is that the "generic photography plan" of a year ago is not exactly the same as the "generic photography plan" of today....so I ended up with a parallel subscription.

OK, thanks for the report. I'll look into this and share what I find out. It's possible there is a change I'm not aware of. Can anyone else confirm they redeemed a code for EXACTLY the same plan but instead of extending the expiration, a different subscription opened in addition to the existing sub?

Thanks again,

Mat

I am seeing more reports of new subscriptions being added instead of extending existing subs. Since it's a holiday in the US, many folks are off today. If you haven't already redeemed your code, and you have an active subscription. I recommened holding off until I can confirm whether there is an issue or not.

Thanks for your patience,

Mat Hayward

I wish I had seen this post before I redeemed the code.
Hopefully it will soon be sortet out, also for those of us who now have two subscriptions.

But apart from that, it's great to get the bonus again  :)

Just redeemed the All Apps code, it extended my current plan with a year, no overlapping here. Thanks a lot Mat and Adobe!

Same here, all apps 100GB of storage and the code added a year to the existing plan.

Thanks Mat,
Have to say that Adobe works like a Swiss watch in many aspects and look out for their contributors.
Too bad other stock sites don't, not even close.

In this case please contact Adobe customer service directly. They should be able to help get you sorted out. Sorry for the hassle!

It happened to me too

I have just been in contact with Adobe support about the double plans.

The solution in my case ended up with canceling my paid plan, and keeping the redemption plan, which then got some extra days added for the days I lost on the paid plan.

Hello Mat,

how long will take until the codes expire, if they are not redeemed?

The code I currently use runs until October 1 this year. If it looks like extending the period is problematic, I would just keep the new code until then and only use it, when the old one runs out.

looks like i qualified which is great but seems no adobe products exist for linux  :(  i was kind of excited to try lightroom but not sure i'll enjoy the experience if i have to use in on some ancient laptop i dust off.  is there a web version of anything out there?
My husband runs a virtual windows desktop off his linux system. That might be a way forward for you.

I'm not Mat, so can only speak from my own experience: two years ago or so I redeemed my code almost a year after I got it, because I had a paid plan running - there was no issue with that.

I have the same problem with the double plan - both are called "Foto Abo (20GB)" here in Germany
-> one has 21 items
-> other hast 29 items

Tried to reach the support via phone and chatbot (btw. the chatbot in german is not working at all)
-> on phone the automatic voice said after about 1min of talking and asking: "There is a problem with the phone lines - beep beep beep"
(Btw. could not find any support email adress on the support center page in german)

I guess I will have to use the same solution as Jens - cancel the paid plan before the next payment and use the other plan, that should work hopefully.

I had the same number of items on both, but they could of course still be diffferent.

Support in danish was also off-line, but I chose the english.
After a few initial questions and answers with the bot, I got connected to a human supporter.
And it was this supporter that did the work with canceling the paid plan and extending the redeemed plan with the lost number of days.

Don't cancel your paid plan yourself. You risk having to pay for the remaining time of the year plan.

BTW, for the new plan there is a button for entering a new code next year  :)

Her Ugliness

Mat, will the double plan-issue be resolved or is getting two plans and cancelling one the permanent solution here? Just asking to know whether I should wait with redeeming the code.

Sebastian Radu

Hi,

I also have the same problem now, two subscriptions.
This is the answer that I received it from the Adobe support:

I would like to inform you that would not be possible. The activation code you received is for a different Photography plan which will expire in one year

While the plan you had active is to paid monthly was a monthly plan hence extension is not possible that is why  a new plan was added

So my advice is to activate the code on the last day of your current subscription.
