But I am tracking "sales/views" and before I have very small numbers of views and lot of downloads for my size of portfolio...
Now is opposite, large number of views but no dl.s or just a few in a week...

Very strange, I think that views and dl.s have to be proportional not opposite proportional...

I was just wondering why my views went to twice the count in last few days (max weeks) and sales went to about one third of the previous numbers. While my portfolio is small (200 pics), both counts are so consistent form day to day that I don't think it is the usual fluke.

goldenangel , your overall rank is way higher than me 15050 vs 29700, but my 7 days rank is higher than you 8280 vs 8060.  How can this be?

this is my 5th month with Fotolia. and this week i celebrated my first Extended License sale with one of most latest uploads. it literally doubled my earnings.
with approvals on most of my new and regular uploads .
my decision since feb 2009 is that each time i get a new sale, i  increase my upload percentage to that site. for this reason Fotolia, i have more than tripled my portfolio from a tiny 22 images in february to close to 100 images.

latest ranking is now:  29000 from 30400 
                                 7760 from 8060

I'm stuck at 519 overall been there about 2 weeks , 7 day is 332 (hit 235 earlier in week, my best yet that I've noticed)

Fotolia has been selling well for me lately. I just wish they would raise the prices.

FT is my most recent site, and I am very happy with it as I am selling better than all the others I have been for much much longer time. But the ranking confuses me.
For example:
this is what I had a couple of weeks ago after getting my first EL:
27200 8320
and then a couple of days ago after getting a tiny sale :
26200 5789
and this is where I am a day later:
26300 8120

do you really jump 3K up in one week and then fall 3K down the next?

I am not complaining as I have been rising in either ranking since I started.
But I wonder how the ranking works. Is it based on dls + approvals? or just dls?

I think the ranking works according to the credits you earned. So an EL in this ranking areas can make quite a difference.

Yes, that makes sense, as no doubt the 3k jump is due to the Ext Lic. Cheers Freezingpictures.

I have had only two sales in May, one $1.6 and $0.3 and my rank hasn't changed in a month - it's stuck at ~7800. does that mean that all other people are having crappy sales last month. but, two bucks, come on...they gotta have had more than that

I think the submission and approval do affect our ranking. I have not been submitting too much these past couple of months, and I have lost my ranking, after having my best month a couple of months ago, which included my first Ext Lic.

Checking my past to right at this moment:
May when I had my best month :  24000  7760
   today     : 24520  8500

My port is very tiny, though ..
88 files in my port, 21 sales to date.
