Author Topic: Is it still worth doing UBB linking and managing lightboxes on iStock? (Read 4148 times)

I have noticed that in new look on iStock (I'm using old one) description isn't shown. So does that mean that UBB linking is worthless now? I'm new in this (made an acc almost a year ago but had only 8 pictures there until two months ago) so I never did it. Should I? And should I make public lightboxes? When I tried to search them nothing happened! Does buyers use mostly new design or old design? And when is old design going away?

No point in wasting time on istock, unless you are exclusive.

Well how I started (2 regular downloads in 2 months) I'll never get exclusive, or maybe I will when I'm forthy

I'm waiting to fix scener so I can scan pasport to register on Shuterstock, but I wonder how many of my pictures will be accepted there. I don't have pro camera (don't know if it is greatest investition if this failes). I'm using Nikon Coolpix L330 for now, and I'm also learning Blender for 3D rendering.

What whould be your sugestion, where to register?

No. No point at all in linking lightboxes in non-existent descriptions. The people who wasted time doing it lost many hours of time down the drain.

You can use your camera to take a photo of your passport. Shutterstock is the best to join of the microstock sites. Had a look at a sample photo from the Nikon Coolpix L330 and I think you need a new camera. Get a cheap DSLR if you don't have much money to spend. Shutterstock are good for illustrations and the 3D renders, so you can get going without a camera.
