We've so enjoyed all the beautiful shots!

Yes, we should be mailing ours out on Monday as well. Sorry for the delay!

Robert & Lori

Karimala

I mailed out two yesterday before my tendonitis got the best of me!   :P  Thought it would be nice to hand write little notes, but I might have to go with labels at this rate.

Opla

A great card from Brazil arrived yesterday, I'm jealous, great location! (Even looked it up in streetview :) )
Watch out where the huskies go...

So the 5 to 8 working days was not a lie. :)

I was not very satisfied with the high contrast on the print, but I should have picked another version of this image. Glad you liked it. :)

corepics

I received your card yesterday, too, Maria - Thanks!

massman

Sorry guys, I'm suffering from mañana syndrome. I've received 10 cards so far and they are all fantastic, I've really enjoyed getting them. I promise I will post mine this week, I can't stand the guilt any longer.

cathyslife

I still haven't received cards from blufish, mellimage, massman, madelaide, rgebbiephoto and karimala.  :(

*Hanging my head*  my overseas ones went out today and the states ones will go out tomorrow. Had a bit of a family situation that put me behind. Now I'm rushing to get things done before Wednesday and my next situation starts (my daughter getting her tonsils out).

So again, sorry for the delay but they are going now!  ::)

Artemis

Pixart's card arrived a couple of days ago here. Love the pic AND the message :)

Karimala

I'm getting mine out slowly but surely.  Hopefully I'll have all of them sent by week's end.

madelaide

With Carnival here, we haven't been receing any mail. Perhaps tomorrow they will resume delivery. I'm looking forward to receving more.  :)

I wasn't going to say anything, but Pixarts card, I found in the snow as it was melting. Might have fallen out the same day or the day before. I sandwiched it between a paper towel on the writing side and some plastic on the shiny side (or what was left of it).

Amazing, the card survived quite well with some wrinkles, but looks good and I can read all the writing.

Ten cards including the one I sent myself. This is enjoyable and I don't mind waiting for the entertaining variety or shots and ideas. Always worth it!

I suspect I'll get another card, maybe two, tomorrow.

Because of RacePhoto's "racer-waving" avatar, I'd like to ask off-topic Q:

Could anyone post a safe link to a clear tutorial on how to create an avatar with motion?

(I googled it, and each answer was different, with different links, software, which I'm concerned about DL'ing at random. Besides RP's I've greatly enjoy the Dancing Cat avatar another MSG'er has.)

I'd like to create a stable avatar, ideally just using CS5, but could be flexible about software someone here highly recs.  Thanks - Ann

Opla

CS5 should do it, did you google on "animated gif CS5"?

No, I just barely knew it involved gif files, and was googling "avatars with motion"  :-[
Thanks so much, Opla!

But we are in Off Topic, so I suppose that makes the answer, On Topic? :D

I used Irfanview and JASC animation shop 3 for that one. Just the easiest that I know, I'm sure others will know better. The one you see, started as four or five images, 0-1-2-3-4-5 then (4-3-2-1) copied and numbered 6-7-8-9, the 0 is the same, so it doesn't need to repeat, same for the middle image. Hey I was bored one afternoon, and wanted to see if it would work.  ::) I only did the hand. It was a 100 x100 file, so a little tiny for working on the eyes and mouth.

There's also a Free Microsoft gif animation maker, that I've never used, because the one I have works.

http://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-GIF-Animator/3000-18512_4-12053.html?tag=mncol;4

Microsoft GIF Animator lets you easily create and customize animated GIF files for your Web site.GIF animations are based on the GIF89a file format, which stores timing information to create the illusion of animation like a cartoon "flipbook". With GIF Animator you can make your animations loop, spin, fade in and out; set the size and transparency of your images; and control a wide range of other options. GIF Animator also features automatic or custom palette creation.

Here's another one that works and I have it on my second system. Photolapse. (FREE) makes a batch of JPGs into an AVI. You can use an AVI for your avatar just as easily, all you do is link to it on ImageShack or anyplace that you can host images. Works for making real animations from time sequence shows with the digital camera as well. Nice! I think the igloo time lapse was done with this.

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Other-VIDEO-Tools/PhotoLapse.shtml

The PhotoLapse application was designed to be a free jpg to avi convertor. It will convert a jpg sequence into a, by codec compressed, movie. I created it for making timelapse movies of large sequences of jpg stills and couldn't find any freeware programs to do the trick the way i wanted it. PhotoLapse needs no installing nor does it modify your registry, just one executable.

WOW, RacePhoto - thanks for all that info! ♥

And thank you for mentioning flash, cclapper :D
