Selling death and destruction is standard behaviour for US and other Western governments of all political colours - the Liberals throw in hand-wringing while signing off the missiles, warplanes and guns, which is a bit sickening (OMG! They're using those bombs we sold them in a war! We can't believe it, how awful, that might be against the terms of the sale.)

Or do you mean Liberals use death and destruction to fear-monger for political ends? Getting votes by frightening people with the bogeyman of foreigners coming over the border to fill their kids up with drugs, rape their daughters, steal their wealth and force everyone to speak Spanish? I do remember some politician doing that.

Ah lets not just keep bashing the West.

The Russian made AK47 (and its Chinese copies) have killed more people than any other weapons system since the end of WWII.

Most developing nations are equipped with Russian and Chinese built weapons, tanks and planes.

And those countries are hardly bastions of liberalism are they

True enough, but we don't have any influence on them.

More than a third of Yellowstone National Park sits within the caldera of an active volcano. A supervolcano is exactly what it sounds likea massive volcano that is capable of erupting with devastating global consequences. The supervolcano is erupting right now.

No wonder, JimP! This explains a lot!

It explains why the surviving kids of the recent Florida shooting are hired actors.
It explains why Sandy Hook massacre is a hoax created by Obama, to take away our guns.
It explains why the basement of a pizzeria without basement is a child trafficking headquarter, coordinated by crooked Hillary who is also involved in satanic rituals.

It explains why Trump is our president and it shows that we still have 30-40% of the population falling for such "InfoWars"

PBS Nova, North America has been sliding across a fiery mass of magma for millions of years. Its triggered some of the most violent eruptions and most devastating extinctions the continent has ever experienced. And now its parked beneath Yellowstone National Park where its just a matter of time before it detonates again. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/earth/magma-yellowstone.html I suppose you blame trump and the republicans for this to.

Everything isn't politics sometimes it's just dumb people who spread the doom and gloom, mostly the liberals you know.

Well... breaking news: the geography of Yellowstone is common knowledge. And it should be the case especially for us, photographers, since it is one of the most scenic parks in the US.  :P

But it seems that "some"  ;) only discovered these facts recently, from tabloids or conspiracy sites, instead of high school classes or some book/article based on science.

Obviously, the volcano has nothing to do with Trump, but the gullibility of "some"  ;) people, unable to tell the difference between a hoax and reality, has a lot to do with the way he got elected.

You're right the liberals. You blamed the conservatives for this, now you're backing up and changing. Of course everything that's wrong is the conservatives and when the liberals doom and gloom us, it's juts nature. You'll never admit that the worst negative doom people are the liberals. They run PBS and the media and play this to the public, but we can't tell hoax from reality. Thanks, that defines what you are. Unreal media manipulators and denying that you sell death and destruction as your way to make fear a tool of your politics.

 :)

First of all I'm not a liberal. Not everybody disagreeing with Trump is a liberal, you know?

Second, I'm not blaming conservatives. There are many intelligent conservatives out there.

I'm simply blaming those gullible people unable to use their own judgement, people falling for viral hoaxes like yours and those enumerated above.

Unfortunately, it looks to me that you belong in this category. Even more: you dig deeper.
And this explains a lot.
It explains a lot your prior positions. And like you there are many others.
If more people would be able to use their own judgement, such hoaxes would never become viral, and a moron would never stand a chance to become president.

Stop digging my friend.

It's not a hoax I saw it on PBS and read about this in National Geographic. The ones saying it could blow up and any day mass death and destruction are the problem. I didn't write these I just put up a story here, and now you are attacking me personally? Why don't you go after the people here who make up rumors and hoaxes about the search or capping?

Look, everybody is free to say whatever they want. First amendment. Even the Russians who are buying political ads on Facebook. I have no problem with that!
The problem we have is with those falling for all these "news". We have even a bigger problem with those contributing to the propagation of these so called "news".

You are the one who "informed" us that "this is the end" and "The supervolcano is erupting right now.:o This is obviously false.
You must admit you were wrong, instead of pointing fingers to those who misinformed you. Because you also tried to misinform us. You are responsible for your post, not PBS, not National Geographic.

I'm only advising you to do some homework before jumping the gun by contributing to the misinformation. In cases like this one, as much as in other cases you defended on this forum.

PS. Please do your homework (again!) and check the "capping" topic initiated by namussi. My position on that "theory" couldn't be clearer  ;)

You did not see 'the supervolcano erupting right now' on PBS, and you did not read that 'the supervolcano is erupting right now' on National Geographic.

Yes the end is near but it won't be from a supervolcano.

Now I see the right now part. Who knows what site he followed for that click bait? In case anyone wants to know the truth, the answer is no. https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/erupting_volcanoes.html North America is top center

Wow! 35 eruptions underway at the moment. I guess that's probably pretty normal but it's surprising.

Yellowstone is having an earthquake swarm right now which is well within normal range.

Obviously if it were really erupting we'd all be up a creek...and it would be all over every news source, not just the faux ones.

Point well made, some other unreliable site will blow the swarms into something they are not. The usual internet click bait with misleading headlines.
