At 100/day "unlimited" downloads and 50% of $20 per month splits out to as low as about 1/3 of a cent per download for the contributor. Now that is exciting news, especially if it is for video.
.38 per download was pretty good, in fact over 100 times better.
100 a day is a joke if SS calls that a restriction. Wondering if anybody who is in for this model would like to share the earnings or they are available only by the end of the month?
According to the email it doesnt go live until next month but looks like they lied about that. Given the revenue share model they mentioned i dont see how they can do anything other than declare it monthly once they know how much it brought in during that period. I can see an IS style 2 month lag while payments are calcuated.
SS lied to us and you're surprised. I thought you just said, the program was over. What will you be saying tomorrow? I think you're right about the delayed reporting, there's no way to calculate the unlimited until the month is over.

For anyone deleting files from Adobe, note the following clause in your contributor agreement:
"6.2 Managing the Work. You may remove any Work from the Website at any time, provided, however, that you do not remove more than 100 items of Work or 10% of the Work, whichever is greater, in any 90-day period without 90 days' prior written notice to Adobe."

ok,I missed this one.
anyway I was planning on deleting 500 images, which is less than 10% of my port,if I decide to do so.
thanks!
Please explain how less images and deleting images you already have accepted, will make more money? What's the secret.

Cobalt,Thanks for your empathy!
sure,I'll let you know,in the meantime I'll wait until April 4-5,if there are no improvements I'll proceed with the removal.
Removing images from AS are figured the same as rejections which will lower your approval rate.

No images removed, I think they sent the email to everybody.

I learn from what sells and make more. I learn from what doesn't sell and don't make more. I don't need some unscientific study of some other person, to figure that out. What I have learned in the last 15 years of microstock is that I have learned nothing. With one single exception: the dependence on the starting ranking of the images and the algorithm.
This isn't a game of chance, buyers decide what sells, which decides the rank and how the algos place your images. You and others imagine this business is like the lottery, not planning or skill. Steve is a success because he's smart and works hard.

Nothing has changed except some words on a website. Exclusive is only good for someone who doesn't want to work for multiple sites and make more money from many outlets and choices, instead of being limit to only one. The percentages and rewards from IS won't make up for what's lost by having more agencies selling our work. I think you are imagining most of your ideas of what you think you see.

This sounds like a great service for our customers. Well done Adobe!
It would be nice if you perhaps soem example how the payments for us work. I assume we will just get the same base file sale before the customer adapts the file, right?

Last weekend I upload some images to Alamy, before if is one images failed all other images from same submission is also failed. Not at this time. One is failed but other stays online for key wording. I am not sure it was accidentally or no. I hope, they finally find out it was not smart way before.
If it fails for intake data, error or image size, the whole batch doesn't fail. If it fails QC, the whole batch fails.
As far as I see, no changes to the one fail, all fail rule.
It was Failed QC
I've never seen that. One fail all fail. What was the reason?

my position on January 26th is....I don't know!I'll check again on January 31st!
You need to check every day and post your current weekly rank here, every day. If nothing changes just post the same meaningless nonsense over again with the time and day.

Trump also denies citizenship to children born in the US to immigrants, which goes against the US Constitution,I think he forgot that the USA exists because of immigrants.
Not from all immigrants, but only from illegal immigrants.
The US better start building more prisons right now. Laken Riley Act. A migrant who crosses more than once would face up to five years in prison, and one who attempts to cross illegally could face up to 10 years. The bill also requires a minimum of five years in prison for anyone who has multiple convictions or was convicted of an aggravated felony and then tries to illegally reenter the country. While the Democrats sheltered and protected the illegals, which got Trump elected, now the sides could be joining to do something. Laws change as the times change. The old rules about birth right citizens, needs to be revised to eliminate anyone illegal who comes here, just to give birth, which makes their child a citizen. The law was to protect new immigrants, here legally, who were not a citizen yet and welcome new citizen children to the country. It wasn't intended to be an open door for cheating the system, by sneaking across the border, only to give birth, for free and at the same time become a US citizen.

ICE Boston made eight arrests yesterday, including multiple MS-13, Interpol Red Notices, murder and rape suspects, and a volatile Haitian gang member with 18 convictions in recent years who told TV cameras that he "aint going back to Haiti" and "f--- Trump, Biden forever!"
This is the way things ought to be. Go after the criminals and violent offenders who have been sheltered by the progressives.

Well, Adobe Stock does have the most responsive algo, where files that have been downloaded move up in search results almost immediately. Whether this is the best algo or not, idk.
They move up immediately? Why does Adobe tell us the rank is set in the first 30 days and doesn't change? SS I see more change when I get downloads.

The end of the race to the bottom. Both collections will support each other and attract buyers, at higher Getty prices. This merger is going to be good for Microstock artists.

I'm all in exclusive with 30k videos on Pond5. I stopped selling on Shutterstock when they started video subs and saw my sales go down drastically. Also deleted all my videos on Adobe Stock last year because 80+% of my video sales became cheap video subs. It's not easy to just be Pond5 exclusive, but you'll get instant 50% raise in royalty from 40% to 60%. That's a good feeling. But also, I think pricing is important to maximize your revenue on Pond5. Customers who come to Pond5 buy clips because they couldn't find them on StoryBlocks, Shutterstock, Adobe Stock and other cheap stock video sites. They don't buy your video because it's cheap. They buy it because they need it that they couldn't find anywhere else. I started this new pricing strategy at the end of March. It's working well since.

How's the exclusive working out now? I see some complaints from others, but you seem to have a good view of the situation. How was last year since you went Pond5 exclusive?

Deletion of uploaded files is treated same as file rejection and effects on your stats and sales.
If that is the case with deleting stuck files, then the effect would be negated when re-uploading them back into the queue?
Of course NOT. if you upload 1000 images your upload counter will state that you have 1000 uploads. And if you delete 100 and then upload those 100 again, your counter will state that you have 1100 uploads and 100 deleted / rejected images. It is a basic math.
Where do I see the stats and sales you are talking about, that shows how deleting a file becomes a rejection? What difference do stats make?

Zero Talent, Are you the one deleting the topics I write in on the forum?
The fight against democracy leads to defeat, which is what we see.
The forum name is microstockgroup. What other questions can there be on this forum?

SuperPhoto, you didn't understand what I was writing about. The equipment I was writing about is not cheap. And this equipment is 100% suitable for the stock business, which is what this forum is about.
You are arguing that your toy camera with a small lens and small sensor is as good as top of the line pro equipment. Superphoto is right, if you are doing microstock or web graphics. For high quality professional images you need pro gear. If you can visually see the difference in quality over your small sensor camera, that should be enough proof that you are defending a losing argument.

What does this mean, when does it end? Pride month and another letter added. LGBTQIA I get the first 4 but then things start to get lost. Is Q for questionable, I for I don't know.
LGBTQIA+ is an abbreviation that stands for:
Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer or questioning Intersex Asexual And more, with the "+" representing other sexual identities
Jif and Gif are the same because the person who named it says so. The End
I had to look this up: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (or questioning), intersex, and asexual (or allies)
By the way the lesbians I know (majority not 100% of them) call them self Dykes and the Gay men I know say they are Queers.
I think the Q in the alphabet soup was originally to represent Questionable or Questioning? Why would Gay be there twice? But being none of the above and not politically correct or in tune, what would I know?
I thought as a tag to irrelevant off topic I'd add that Avocados are now considered unsustainable: "The increasing demand for this tasty fruit in America is not sustainable. As a result of the demand from the US for avocados, farmers in Mexico are influenced to increase the size of their farms, which is now leading to environmental issues including deforestation and increased greenhouse gas emissions." Ah yes, another cause of global warming = Avocados.
I hope the woke millennials get a grasp on this, so I can get mine again for salads without the inflated prices.
Gack and Gill when up the hill.
