It´s been a long time since my last upload.
I used to use one model release in english and spanish (everythinig in the same page) and it used to work but I wonder which one are you using now for all agencies (if possible) and if there are any changes in the release acceptance by the agencies...

I have just instaled the app in a new win laptop recovering sites data from a backup but earnings are not showing.
Do I have to wait or do anything?

After some time without uploading I tried yesterday a batch. The following happened.

Uploaded to SS correctly but after that, some files (jpgs) got corrupted in my hard disk and got 0bytes

Rebooted and nothing.

Today the other files (all jpgs the videos are still ok) have 0 metadata. No keywords, no title, categories or anything.

Any idea on what is wrong??

Its been a while since I do not upload to microstock and I´ve just found the Mac version of microstocksubmitter but I miss some agencies like Alamy, scanstock or stockfresh where I used to upload content. Perhaps I used the custom ftp service for them but I do not find it in the mac version. Is not enabled?
Also where do you switch between free and paid plans?

Do you know any software or a programmer who can develop tool to easily mass deactivate Dreamstime Images?

I asked them to change my username but they simply don´t want to.
I asked them to close my account but they don´t want to.
I asked them to deactivate all my images and they reply I must do it... one by one   

Impossible for me to submit to canstock. Am I the only one?

Does all sites support "submitting" images after upload them?
It does not appear the submit box in sites like panthermedia or stockfresh

Alguien ha hecho algo con la aplicacion de la nueva norma de impuestos de SS? Yo no tengo nada claro que es lo que hay que hacer. Si alguien lo ha hecho y puede explicarlo un poco estaria genial.

Do you know if there is any software to embed keywords in the clips before upload? something like irfan or microosoft photo tools but for videos

I dont put categories usually to save time but have you noticed any improvement in images with categories over images without them?

For example for Christmas.
Designers dont look for images during Christmas as they must have their proyects done so... When is the most demanding period for seasonal images?

In the Istock model release the date under "photographer Name" and under the "Witness name" and under de "models name" is:

The model, photographer and witness date of birth or the date when it was taken???

(I supose it is the date of birth but I prefer to be sure before I submit the photo)

Do you know if there is a referral link that you can give to other? Im looking through my account but I cant find any.
Or when someone enter to see your portfolio there or your profile he/she become your referral when register?

I have been contacted by DT support to ask me for the raw file of an image.
Is a raw file paid better, same, worse, not paid?

Dont you think this industry is going worse for us? Subscriptions, search engines, long upload  process...
Sometimes I think that for some sites, we are enemies.

If we complain as the recent example of fotolia, do we get something? 100 or 200 guys stop uploading make the diference? I imagine them laughing in front of the monitor.
Sometimes a top member raises the voice and they pay attention.

As these things happens our earinings decrease (or perhaps increase but investing more time and money than the necessary, so decrease)

But will the sites hear someone with a portfolio 500.000 images? If that person say that it is not healthy for his business to get paid 0,25 usd per image and threaten the sites with moving his portfolio or, why not? creating its own microstock site... will the sites react?
That person can have big power to negotiate.

That person can represent other peoples portfolios. For example how much images do we have here at msg? 1478 members x average portfolio... Im sure that Leaf has the way to calculate dreamstime (for example) portfolios of the members

Does World Stock Photographers Association (WSPA) exists?

Aprovecho este rincón en el que puedo expresarme más agusto para hacer un par de reflexiones sobre lo que veo ultimamente.

No llevo mucho tiempo en esto pero he sacado una conclusión. Siempre nos quejamos de que las ventas son bajas, que tal mes ha sido malo y el siguiente peor. Creía que quejarse era una caracteristica española pero veo que se ha extendido a todo el mundo 

También creo que es cierto que unos sitios funcionan mejor para unos que para otros y es algo que no acabo de entender. Como puede BigStock ser el segundo en ganancia para unos y para otros (para mi por ejemplo) el noveno? Cuando esto se repite un mes tras otro, la estadisitica dice que no puede ser casualidad. La única respuesta que se me ocurre es que los sitios favorezcan unos portfolios ante otros (conscientemente o no), bien por el país del fotografo, su antiguedad... o podría ser que unos tipos de keywording van mejor para algunos sitios y peor para otros? Si hay otras opiniones me gustará saberlas.

Y luego el tema de las subscripciones...
El caso Ft ha sido lo peor que he visto en la industria hasta el momento (tampoco me puedo esperar algo mejor de el sitio que, para mi, peor trata a sus fotografos, por lo menos el sitio de mi país). Podría escribir un libro con mi experiencia en este sitio, desde el trato con el "soporte tecnico", el motor de busqueda, la migracion al v2 , el proceso de edicion de datos...
Esta tendencia a reducir las ganancias del fotografo deja claro que para la mayoría de los sitios, nosotros significamos poco. Nosotros tendremos que esforzarnos en sacar mas y mejores fotos para ganar lo mismo.
No nos engañemos, aunque bajen los precios mediante la subscripcion, se van a vender las mismas fotos (los que necesitamos el coche para trabajar, usaremos los mismos litros de gasoil, cueste 0,90 o 1,50 el litro). O pensais que Fotolia va a convertirse en un shutterstock (en cuanto a numero de descargas) por tener la comisión mas baja del mercado? Opiniones al respecto.

Quizá los que, como yo, nos tomamos esto como un hobby, invirtiendo en equipo, modelos, un estudio, ayudantes y lo más importante: tiempo, podiamos hacer de esto una profesión pero sinceramente, no veo un horizonte claro, parece todo muy voluble.

Bueno no me hagais mucho caso, me apetecía escribir algunas divagaciones

Alguien tiene experiencia en calibrar un apple cinema display en un pc?

Lo pregunto porque solo se puede variar el brillo en el monitor. El resto se modifica por software en el OS de apple. En un pc no se puede modificar contraste, etc.

Entonces me pregunto si en un pc y con un colorímetro podré calibrar el apple.

Computer is:
processor: core2quad 9300 2.5
ram: 4gb ddr2 800
hard disk 1: 1x 72gb 10.000
hard disk 2: 2x 500gb 7.200 RAID 0

Where would you instal OS and Photoshop for more speed? HD 1 wich is 10.000 rpm or HD 2 wich is 7.200 rpm but RAID 0?

And where would you set the photoshop scratch disk? hd1 or hd2?


I have the choice of changing the RAM to ddr3 or/and 1066mhz is there any appreciable difference?

Almost the same price (the Nec is a bit cheaper)
Both have ips panel
