For people shooting a mix of photos and vidoes how do i find these seperately so i can use the weighted sum to get my download count?
5000 downloads is steep, guess I've got my work cut out 103
Selling Stock Direct / Re: Google images licensable tag« on: September 07, 2020, 02:19 »
For people using something like lightroom it seems like a few metatags need to be added in all future images to ensure they show this tag.
Hopefully stock images don't strip the metadata on this. I'm sure for pics posted elsewhere like Instagram, facebook, flickr, 500px and forums it might just end up helping 104

The question remains who is buying. What are the chances that these guys are offloading before they sell it to a big player who they don't want to be associated with. Think getty, facebook, smugmug types. So this gives them a golden parachute, and what happens after is of no concern.
Think flickr over the last few years 107

Adobe and Pond5 have a rare chance to get a ton of contributors and customers right now. Funnily enough this is exactly what shutterstock did when the whole Getty fiasco happened. Lets hope it gets played well and helps us

Some alarm bells for contributers - Focus on royalty restructuring - focus on subscription - focus on AI reviewing - the hope that prosumer buyers will come in driven by low price Guess this gravy train has ended, time to build somewhere else 110

Obviously if they did it would be a workaround for editorial footage on AS. I'm not sure if I have any editorial video that I could check with.Does anyone else know this? 1. Do editorials from Pond5 exclusive accounts show up on Adobe 2. What % of royalty comes from a pond5 clip sold on Adobe? 111

Got some of those 0.96 sales as well. I always counted on vidoes to bring the month total to a good number. It seems the vol largely remains the same and cost per vid sale dropped by almost 3-4 times.

Realistically now the objective is moving buyers from shutterstock to other. Either through removing content, driving traffic through social media or rating down the platform in all forums.
Understand that shutterstock is not creating demand, just catering to it. Demand will move, it make take time and be hard for us but it will. This is the only fair end we can get. The alternative is to accept this, set ourselves up for more such cuts by them and other players. Anyway the actual reduction in earning shows just how bad jan will be. 116

One more way to lose revenue? Have they put out any information on how the contributors are affected. Do we get 10c, do we get "exposure" 118

Shutterstock.com / Re: No new content visible on Shutterstock since Saturday morning« on: July 19, 2020, 08:50 »Thank you. The idea was to cherry pick the heads relevant to you and get a rough estimate of your spends. If your earning is less (and its not leading to future profitability either) then essentially its a hobby and you are spending money for your enjoymentYes, there may be costs on that list which are irrelevant to your particular situation. But when you really examine the cost of business, there's lots of hidden money drains. If you work from home you are probably paying rent or mortgage for the home or room you sleep/work from unless you live with parents. So part of that $ a week you pay for the roof over your head needs to be associated with your expenses ( an accountant will claim this back for you from your taxes paid). That's the difference between a hobby and a business. You do the second one with an intent to profit. And if you need top quality stuff with 4k, slow mo, drone shots and more then the costs are fair 121

Shutterstock.com / Re: Brain storming : What else we can do to be heard« on: July 19, 2020, 00:45 »So things to do till nowShutterstock has just gone into full head in sand ostrich mode. Silence, some random trolls, paid reviews and tweets and low quality image submissions Time to implement some of these plans? Can we all make twitter accounts and retweet all #BoycottShutterstock posts. It seems like a good way to get publications and bigger businesses to notice our problem. Rather than harping about Shutterstock, maybe it's now time to just direct people to Adobe/pond5/microstock Coalition... Sort of give them a traffic boost What other ideas should we start now? 123

Got this off twitter but it gives a decent overview of the cost of shooting. As a hobby, sure shoot upload get some fries money. Shutterstock.com / Re: We are having some impact« on: July 16, 2020, 03:10 »Some pictures to illustrate where we are. Collection numbers bouncing back don't tell the story. Searches I tracked back when they started the new scheme have fewer results today than they did then, even though the overall numbers look about the sameThe new images that are getting uploaded are not just bad images but they are horribly keyworded and described. Hence the issues with search. My guess, Its just plain pathetic garbage to act as filler to fool the public investors while the shares are offloaded. The extra commission shows as an earning spike, portfolios swell, profits go up, sell and run Sent from my HD1901 using Tapatalk |
