SpaceStockFootage - You mentioned about Artbeats, tell me how many clips you have there and what is the number of downloads (average) that you do per month ? ...if you do not mind and please explain to me their calculation formula ( Subscription Fees x 50% x (your downloads/total downloads) . How can you see as a contributor their total number of downloads ? thank you...

Well the amount I get for one clip sale isn't really of massive interest to me. Sure, $49 or $99 or $199 per clip is great, but what matters more is the amount you get in your account at the end of every month. That's what your landlord, bank manager, significant other and accountant are interested in. If I didn't sell stuff at VideoHive then I'd lose two thirds of my stock revenue.
It may only be 'a few pennies', but those pennies add up to several hundred dollars over a month.
Yeah right ... look what says a contributor on videohive forum :
"Yarche SAYS Some time passed and it is time to look at the statistics:
VideoHive : 31 sales ~ $41 Stock X: 17 sales ~ $277 Stock Y: 11sales ~ $192
As you can see, the principle of less price more sales does not work. The number of sales at other markets about the same, but earnings is much higher. There are very few high-quality stock video clips of similar subjects and buyers are willing to pay more , so why VH does not use this?
I like Videohive and AE projects are sold very well.
But I do not understand why a good footage (not light leak etc ) can not bring me profit here? Maybe VH should evaluate such work differently? It would be a winning strategy for all. "

I appreciate what you're saying about VideoHive, but I get about two thirds of my stock revenue from there. If I was hardly making anything there then I wouldn't think twice about closing my account, but I'd be shooting myself in the foot if I did so currently. I don't like $8 for a Full HD clip any more than anyone else, but I'm less concerned about what I get per clip, than the total amount I get in my bank every month. VideoHive may charge a lot less, but I get a lot more sales there, so my total income from them is more than the places where they sell HD for $79.
That won't be the same for everyone, I'm not saying that VideoHive are the saviors of the universe... far from it. Just that it works for me, so I'd be daft to move away from them. Not sure if that's what's best for the industry, but they've been around for several years and don't seem to have ruined anything for the other sites.
4 $ for a Full HD clip !? Jesus ... what is wrong with you ??

I would like to sell my clips on Alamy... unfortunately u dont currently support FTP or online upload for video. It is more convenient for me to upload via FTP, than shipping u once a month or every two months a hard drive. Still waiting to see a FTP uploder on Alamy Good luck

This guy has 178558 images. http://www.shutterstock.com/g/Mrsiraphol He started in 2012 so it's 3700 monthly. It's not impossible with good weekly plan.
That guy has over 100 images of the same subject in different angles if someone want to build such a port...maybe it is possible

For a guaranteed 1 million, I would do 1 a month, why do more
Sorry I rewrote the original message. Idea was that someone would say if you can upload for example 120,000 pictures by yourself in one year and get all them approved with reasonable variation. Here is 1 million dollar for you. What you think would be limit for yourself as single contributor doing all the work alone? I just saw those few contributors who can do 2000-10,000 new pictures monthly but they have more than 1 people working so those would not be counted. [/quote] I'm sorry but it's a silly question No one can reach 120 000 images accepted ,over the year. I'm happy if I manage to upload 200 clips per month and not talking about pictures (where the rate of rejection is huge).

Unfortunately, there is never a good time to end a business, especially one that has been around almost 10 years as RevoStock has. I started RevoStock in 2006, excited about bringing the microstock idea to the world of video. Along the way, Revo brought many firsts including the first site to succesfully ofier both audio and video, the first site to sell Alter Eflects Templates and the first site to offer FlexFile custom encoding. We stayed a small company but were able to grow fast in spite of the fact that we did not have any outside funding.
However, staan in 2012, our struggle with a Patent Troll (a company that buys or acquires broad patents they can use to sue as many companies as possible) was the beginning of a very difficult period our small company simply was not able to rebound from. While the lawsuit was dismissed after 2 years, the scars left from this struggle made it equally difficult to get the funding we needed to recover and thus continue growing and innovating. Ifyou are not familiar with the unfair damage Patent Trolls are causing to small companies like ours, I encourage you to watch John Olivers (HBO) recent piece unmasking the ways Patent Trolls kill small businesses and stifle innovation.
I am deeply grateful to our talented producers who, following this suit, gave us a chance at recovery and I am very sorry we were not able to see it through Thank you so much for your talent. I know how much time, effort and trust you have put into me and RevoStock and while I labored until the end to deliver a solution, I deeply regret that it wasnt possible. I am also thankful to all of the customers who have supported us all these years and come to us for your stock media needs. Thank you so much for choosing us. It has been an honor to serve you and
interact with you. The last few months have been rocky for us and I hope our reputation might stand on our previous nine years of service.
We are currently working on securing a partnership for both our RevoStock producers and customers with one of the many other quality media marketplaces that will honor your current relationship with RevoStock in the best way possible. We will be sending out an email to this effect as soon as there are more details to be had.

I thought I had a decent computer. It's an 6 core i7 3.3Ghz with 16GB memory. It is choppy reading these files off an SSD or RAID5. I'm trying to view them in Adobe Premiere Pro 5.5, QuickTime or even the built in Windows 10 viewer. It starts off choppy, but not too bad, then gets worse, leading me to think the disk read is the problem.
Any suggestions? Do people still use RAM drives? Better or newer software?
Thanks for any help
U're 4k clips should run smoothly !? that's something wrong with u're PC. I have the same config with 32 GB memory not a desktop but a laptop ( Asus Rog i7 2,5 Ghz, 32 Gb memory, Gtx 860M ,SSD and Premiere Pro 5.5) and all my 4k clips r running fine. Maybe a memory upgrade will help u a lot and check if you activated Mercury playback engine for u're video card...

I got an e-mail from a company called Nimia today. Has anybody heard of them? They say: With NIMIA, selling your video masterpieces is easy! "Freedom - YOU dont sign a contract Direct sales - YOU control the price $$ One place - YOU can store your entire video library, transfer files and license online Save time - YOU can do mass uploading, downloading and editing
NIMIA is a community of filmmakers our footage was not for stock the quality and culture make us different from video stock agencies. "
They also included this link from 2013, so they have been around for a few years. http://www.geekwire.com/2013/nimia/
I've got the same e-mail last night, they want u to join them ...I haven't found out too much info about them, but from what I've seen there are already a few big contributors who have joined.

Keywording is still a bit of a mystery to me. What I have noticed is that you need sales to increase sales. I have made improved versions of my best selling clips but the old ones still sell better. I did add a few keywords for the new ones so that didn't help, probably the search engines rank sales (and views?) above keyword matching.
CCBCC, think u're right, the old ones sell better...my new approved clips (witch r better clips) have no views for almost 2 months. I've noticed that on all agencies. For a clip to be seen needs a sale at least. I want to mention that I have 50 keywords at all clips.

Best I've seen so far is Photodeck.
Do u know any website built on Photodeck ? I'm curious to see how well it integrates clips, response times....etc I would like to build one to support around 5000 clips.

Today 123RF refunded someone who bought one of my clips, five days ago. For the first time it happens to me and and I want to know how it works !? So, someone buys a clip use it and after 5 days, realizes that it doesn't fit with his/her project and ask for a refund (for another download).
