General Stock Discussion / Re: Canstock did not pay, thief..
« on: March 06, 2024, 21:43 »
Though I did receive my final payment without any problem, I have had trouble getting my earnings from them in the past. You need to keep bugging them about it, I told them I would file a complaint with the BBB and eventually I did get my money
How did you contact CanStock? I would like they paid me some money!

Welcome to the club! Someone could write to Duncan_CSP and say that pay the money?

103
Yes you have to pay. I have deleted my account with them. Avoid them.
Thank you!

I still haven't received it either. I have saved up $272 in it. I contacted via e-mail but no result yet.  >:(
It seems you were scammed like me! Fortunately it was just $5.05 in my case! >:(

I have been with Canstockphoto since 2005-06. I'm really sorry to see it close.

That said, the deadline that was given for submitting a final payment request ended up in my server's spam folder and as a result I never saw it. I randomly found out the news after trying to log in to the site.

I haven't been submitting new content for many years, however also for many years I have been gathering royalties within the site instead of pulling it out. Several times I converted royalties to credits to acquire images for some of my projects. Unfortunately, my remaining royalty balance was well over $1000, which to my understanding Canstock will refuse to pay me. I have emailed them about it and I await their reply.

Leaving that money for a long time within Canstock was surely to Canstock's benefit, and now it feels bad that I am going to be "punished" for doing that. The fact that the email ended up on my server's spam folder is just what happened to me. I could instead be laying sick in bed, be dealing with a personal tragedy, or anything else someone who doesn't log into the website often, be dealing with that would deprive them of the "request what you are owed now or lose it" period. How fair does it sound to deprive someone of what they are owed?  If it was me, I would simply pay up all royalties to all accounts that have already provided me with their payment info in the past since this is money that doesn't really belong to me.

I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on that.

Thanks!

Konstantinos
Did they reply? I have only noticed this now, email must've gone to spam folder. No idea what my balance was, can't remember the last time I withdrew from them. Doesn't seem that this can be legal? They have my PayPal details, no reason why they couldn't just send the money, other than it gives them a nice bonus when they close down at short notice?

The same happened to me. I made around $5 dollars and i have there my PayPal account, never received the money.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock generative AI reminders

It's true that now renders image or videos made by humans using programs like Cinema 4D, Blender, Autodesk 3D Max for example have to be included as AI images or videos? All this without using AI tools. Thanks! I don't use AI tools.

Someone knows how many days appears the money when it is withdrawed from Adobe Stock? I withdrowed on september 12th and not news about on my PayPal account. Thanks!

I normally request money at the end of each month, but this month I too requested a payout after the Firefly "bonus" showed up. I haven't yet been paid either. They say 7-10 days (I think - it might say 7-10 business days).

I can't request my end of the month payout until the earlier one is paid - you're not allowed to make a request if there's a payment pending - so I hope they sort this out next week.
Thank you so much! :)

Many more agencies will disappear during the next years, AI will eventually kill them all.
I wonder too many people on here said " AI would be nice and it will help them with our stock business, it just another tool". :)

115
DALL-E could be use for Adobe Stock or another agency?
i only see this about.

Adobe, over 500k AI images for sale, 99% will never be sold because there is little or no use for them. By the end of the year, following the actual trend of uploads, it will be 5 millions for sale. When do you think Adobe will start charging for uploading AI generated garbage into their portal?

your source for any of those claims?

guess i'm finally part of the 1% since my AI images have sold on AS, SS and DT

I'm not a 1%er yet, but I expect I will be soon enough. Just sold on SS "Ancient Paleozoic era clams. Brachiopods, with a symmetrical ray pattern" Macro, which isn't something I'd expect that most people have heard of, let alone in an sort of demand? I think a couple of my AI creations have a pretty good chance, as they are much more useful. I admit, not as pretty as some that people have shown, but still, useful.

I have not used DALL-E2, because it ask for a phone number and in my country is not listed (i live in Venezuela). I have used MidJourney but in the Discord chat, because i don't know if that app is in another place. Also i have used a app called craiyon.com, but the image don't have size for microstock. Do you know some program that could be use for free for microstock image?

You might just try, if you haven't already, it just sends a text code to the phone number. Unless your entire country can't use the free site? The phone is only to verify the account and one account per person, or one per phone number that is. Write them, maybe there's another way?

DALL-E / Open AI, 1024, resize the image to 3300 SQ, as they are square. You can work on sharpen or use Giga AI or something else, and reduce to 5MP and try that. Everything needs to be edited and cleaned and corrected anyway. None of this is, give a prompt and get a useful image. You will have to edit and work on them.

As usual, if it's FREE it's on the top of my list, and Open AI is that.  8)
No, DALL-E  looks like is not avaible in my country (Venezuela) , look.
Something went wrong
OpenAI's services are not available in your country.

What is the image size and resolution like on some of these AI generators? I one better than the other when it comes to that? DALLE vs Midjourney vs ??

No experience with Midjourney I'm not sure how to get in or do anything, so I just took a pass. Maybe someone can share the details?

DALL-E2 1024 x 1024 PNG with a little color sample bar in the lower right. I don't know if it's just me, but the lines in illustrations are not sharp and will get "quality" rejections at most places. People who know more than I do, say, 4x with Topaz Gigapixel AI or some other Topaz, edit and reduce to Microstock size.

I believe them, but I'm not spending $?? or full price $99.99 to make AI images that will sell for fractions of a dollar. If I thought I could get 400 DLs in a year from AI (1,000 on SSTK) images, I could justify that? 👍
That $99,99 is a plan for a year?

DALL-E2 is 15 images a month for free, you need a phone number to verify your registration. One account only, virtual numbers don't work. (Google Voice for example) For those who pay, 115 credits for $15 = free is fun, that's as far as I go.

Someone else who pays will have to give you the accurate facts about Midjourney or others. I see ads for some that start at $49 a month.

Are there any 3D artists here that sell renders on stock sites?
Can you share your experience, what sells and what doesn't?

I've tested a bunch of different niches and categories, from my experience best selling images are medical / biology / scientific visualizations...
What works for you?

Sure, nobody needs to know anything anymore, AI will do it all.   ::)
Well believe or not, AI will change everything! Continue doing your illustrations, good luck!

I imagine that with images produced by AI the inventory of images would overflow, even more. The higher the supply, the lower the prices. Well, for those who are lucky to sell! Very excited about AI image generation programs, welcome to the progress! I love it! :)

The article and paragraph is 12(2)(b) and the withholding rate is 10%. Type of income is "copyright royalties". I got the info from https://eezycontributors.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040283911-What-is-the-Withholding-Rate-For-My-Country-
Thanks!
