so a 25 cents download from shutterstock can use it as a bookcover? are all RF license over every agency can use for book cover? I had seen a big coffee table book about travel in philippines using shutterstock photos. so this image usage is still within the licensing usage? possible to inquire the agency? if we think our image is misused without the right license, do we contact the agency or just the company?
In order to find out for sure you would have to contact the publisher or perhaps the printing company to get to the right person who can tell where the image came from.
One you have that information (good luck with that), you can contact the stock agency and ask if this specific use is covered.
They will let you know whether yes or no. If no there is a slight chance that the agency will contact the buyer and make them aware of their "mistake". If things work out by the books, the appropriate license would be purchased after the fact and you should get the right amount of money.
IF it requires another license... IF !!!
I've seen my stuff on books, CDs, magazine covers and years ago I thought I can start looking into buying a yacht once my images are on the covers all over the place. Pfff, forget it. Oftentimes a simple download at SS is enough to be printed on a book cover or CD - so don't get too excited over a free hand-out map...
Anyways, good luck.

hi hit 'save changes' instead of 'save and submit'..then submit all of them under 'edit and submit' page.. you can actually highlight the first images and press shift + last image to select everything and click 'submit selected for approval'
To scott.. my biggest question is why there is still no way for eps vector contributor to get their IPTC data read from jpg? or zipped file with jpg preview?
not interested in this business? how are those illustrators willing to cut paste everything for every eps vector?

let's us know what we didn't do it right to make the keywords being part of the searchable controlled vocabulary.. educate us, it is a win-win situation for agency and contributor. I would like to be able to edit my keywords too, i think majority of people is edited for correct keywords instead of spamming with keywords.

so any reason why my keywords are not shown as the controllable vocabulary? http://marketplace.veer.com/images/2259338_rice-terraces?slot=15&pg=1
how about my image of this rice terrace? i put both 'rice terrace' and 'rice terraces' in my keywords, both none of it had shown up.
there are the keywords or searchable CV under the images - mountains landscapes travel villages Philippines rice paddies
my original keywords are: agriculture, Asia, landscape, Philippines, travel, mountain, farming, village, rice field, rice terrace, Rice Terraces, bananue
if i search 'rice terrace' only 58 images are shown and none are mine.
Possible to give more informations on the keywords and controlled-vocabularies? so everyone can benefit from it, and how can we edit and fix it now. thank you.

I had some problem during uploading too, like after choosing the category and click 'submit for approval', there will be an error and the category will be reset. I choose another tab 'save the edit'(? not sure the exact phrase), and the go back to 'edit and submit' page and submit them from that page.

ok, quite surprise the way of quality review, i will assume the whole rejected batch idea is to keep away people from uploading 'quantities' of their portfolio. So it sounds like uploading little quantity batch by batch is the way to go. what is the logic behind? would like to understand so know what i can do..so can we resubmit? and i read that they are reviewing 'technical quality' so no rejection on poor light, bad composition?
you can look at them as the mid-stock agency for "grown ups". that is, they expect you to be photographically competent and know what is good lighting and good technical quality. so they're giving you the benefit of the doubt about your technically excellent photos and not really checking the entire batch. however, if they catch even one, then they think you've not really done your homework on the rest.
however, you'll never get a photo rejected for bad composition for they don't care about its aesthetic quality nor its subject matter. if this is just too vague, you can always go back to the handholding of the micro sites.

start a facebook page, publishing this on facebook, saying ebay is evil and partner of piracy and squeeze the artist's earning..support piracy.
just spread it..maybe it will be in CNN or some channels, maybe they feel it is too negative images to their business..
many people wants to support it and help it..make a petition. It used to be a parade on street, but now is so digital..and i will click the page to support it.

oic..thank you for your reply. So does it mean they don't even check what is the remaining images? so you may get unlucky got whole batch rejected because of a mistake, or you may get lucky got whole batch approved because of a good shot? what is the logic behind? would like to understand so know what i can do..so can we resubmit? and i read that they are reviewing 'technical quality' so no rejection on poor light, bad composition? i read this somewhere that's their policy if 1 image isn't accepted, the whole batch will be rejected without reviewing the rest. I wonder is it true? doesn't sound logical to me.
It is true, although they don't always review all pending batches so if they review 3 pending batches with 10 pictures in each batch they might only actually review the first 5 images of the first batch. If they are ok all batches will pass. If one ore more out of the 5 reviewed images has a problem they will fail all batches (30 images).

I can't see how to add similar photos together..anyone got an idea?

just signed u and tried it, the interface seems good and uploading is quite easy, but i do encounter the error message with #xxxx sometimes. after uploading the files will appear in the 'unfinished' in 'few hours' (few hours is what they mentioned in their uploading page, but it turns out can be few minutes only) and if your IPTC is there, it will be moved to approval pending without extra jobs. I had uploaded few files, and tried to search them, and it seems new uploaded file will appear as the first page, good for exposure of new uploaded images. here is my shameless referral link.. http://graphicleftovers.com/ref=mtkang/for vector, you can upload xxx.eps matching with xxx.jpg to get IPTC read.

hi all, guess we can settle with what alamy thinks.. http://www.alamy.com/contributor/help/image-licences.aspthere is a statement solely features a logo, trademark or copyrighted building - this is a copyright or trademark infringement. Note, images where the logo, trademark or copyrighted building is incidental (e.g. its visible but isnt the central focus) can be submitted as Royalty Free. i think it is something new for some microstocker, since most microstock rejected any visible copyright item even isn't the central focus.

hi all, i think maybe oldhand just make a mistake of his statement, why don't wait for his confirmation?
I think he may mean if the image had been sold as RF in microstock, it can still be sold in alamy under RF license.
i think one should not try to sell same images as different license, not because of price or fairness to buyer, but it is because basically the RM license needs certain of exclusive in usage, like if a company used a image for a promotion poster, it may not want to see same photos to be used in another competitor website.

hi all, just started in alamy..and just realise keywords in alamy is a time-consuming job..
so my first questions is, is it possible to edit your keywords and other informations once submitted?
seconds question is.. as RM licensed images, is shouldn't be sold as RF before right?

so veer used to sell RM images, and veer marketplate is used to sell RF images. Now the RM images moved, and just one veer, who is selling RF images only?

i had a flickr account but not 'professional' account (paid account), in free account, your pictures aren't able to be downloaded as full size.
I kind of heard that before images in flickr are under common sharing license something..i am not sure is it by default setting.

ok, at least my thought is correct, that RM price is more expensive for a reason, not just unreasonable pricing.
and RF price is cheap because of limitation of usage, and it can't use as RM license usage.

hi all, i know this is an old thread, but i can't help to reply.. from the thread starter situations..
I will tell the customer that RF and RM are different licences for using an image, and RF had more limitations than RM. Is it why RF is cheaper licence?
it is not a difficult question, unless you are selling same image as RF and RM, which is actually violate the policy of RM license.
