My best selling 5 images in the big 4 have 13 different images out of a potential 20. Only one of the images was in the top 5 at more than 2 sites. I was surprised that they were all so different.

i wish the SS forums had an ignore button. I'd go there much more often if they did.

Would you like me to put you on ignore so you can feel more like one of the group

3 at the moment. I had only one for ages and while in a bad mood one day I made a comment that I regretted and apologized for but had already picked up 2 more. I always thought the first one was from Shankie but when he left I still had it.

Interesting. Hope some of those thousands of new members will bring something to the table in the form of participation. Or better yet, become premium members and help pay for this valuable resource so Tyler isn't stuck with the costs.
Thanks Lisa, you just reminded me that I need to renew my membership. Now need to have a search around as don't remember where to do it. ETA - Done

For me it's still dead. SS and IS are now getting more sales. Not sure if coming on here and reporting slow sales has affected them in some way. It doesn't make sense that from the beginning I get regular sales to nothing for weeks and weeks. I know it's said that it takes time but I was getting good sales.
DT seem to change their best match quite often. For those of us that are well established sellers it never seems to make any difference whatever they do but for the people that don't sell much it can make a huge difference. One day soon you will probably find that your sales have been turned back on. You've been on DT for 3 months, me a lot longer. I know about the sites more than some but less than others. After 3 months, where do you think you fit in on the ladder of knowledge? I imagine that most of your images are still at level 1, once they gain more sales they will climb levels, once they climb levels the prices increase, plus so will your commissions, so you will earn more money on each sale. Higher prices (higher levels) don't make the images sell less, very often the opposite happens. So if you could wait a little while instead of reporting back every 5 minutes on how badly you are doing, u may start to understand this This post is absolutely correct.

I lost my hope in SF, at this moment I'm 20 in popularity artist list of the site. What's make me scary? My earning of this month are less than 9 dollars...
That's weird. I'm much lower on the list but am earning something like $30-$50 every month there. I actually have much more hope for them. They seem to be heading in the right direction, though slowly.
Same here.

I'm emerald and haven't noticed anything different this week. I think if it went much lower at FT I would give up bothering to upload there!!

I won't be breaking any records this month either!! Not a single EL at SS which is very unusual.

I was annoyed once when I saw an image that was virtually identical to mine but with a different model but when I looked at the date of the image the other image was done 2 years before mine. Maybe I had seen the image before without realizing it and subconscioulsy copied it or maybe it was pure coincidence, who knows.
That does happen - BUT - did your model wear the same colored clothes, did the model have the same hair color and cut? Was he/she the same ethnicity, was it the same location?
Yes, photographic plagiarism exists (as Getty has proven multiple times) but if a photo concept was done "unintentionally", chances are that there are certain differences.
In the case of the flags mentioned here, a lot of factors were identical which less likely is a coincidence.
The models face wasn't in the photo but eveything else was pretty much the same enough so that at first look I thought it was my image.

I suspect it may have more to do with customer resistance to higher-priced images. FT have been steadily reducing the upper tier price levels available to high ranking contributors for some time, presumably because of this.
I think you have the order reversed. I saw no resistance to doubling my prices for literally years. Now, with most sales being subs, and all but best selling images being demoted to 1 credit, my sales should have increased, if it really was an issue of customer price sensitivity. Instead, they declined steeply pretty much overnight, as is typical with an unfavorable search change, and have never recovered.
Totally agree with you Lisa. My sales went up when I doubled the prices. This is to do with Emeralds getting bad placing in the searches. Like Lisa my sales went virtually overnight. I made 6 times more in 2010 than I did in 2011!!

Nope, no sales increase here. But then, I am an Emerald, and they decided some time last year to rig their search engine against high ranking (expensive) members. Bet they're saving a bundle in royalties.

I'm seeing it at DT. I've made double there this week than FT and IS combined.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned somewhere, but they have also changed their pricing structure. Now, instead of all images being $6, with us receiving $3.12, it goes from $1, $3, $6.
With the minimal volume there (I average about 4 sales a month or around 6k images!) I don't think .52/sale is worth uploading for. If I don't see a BIG increase in volume it might be time to pull the plug on GL.
Too bad, because I had high hopes for them in the beginning...
I had all of mine set at 10$ and got 5.20$ per sale so it makes a bigger difference to me. Like yourself only get about 4 sales a month.

Checking sales daily is really bad time management, time that could be spent creating new images.
I don't agree at all, that. That to me is like saying time spent chatting to friends or watching tv is bad time management as it could be spent creating new images.

If you live out of the USA then SS only charge you for sales from customers in the USA. For me this works out at about 20 - 30% of total sales. On this 20 - 30% we get taxed 5% so for people with a treaty it really isn't enough money to worry about. Those without a treaty can pay up to 30% so if they are unlucky enough to have a higher % of their sales from the USa it can take a large chunk out of their payments. The unfair part is that we have to pay tax on this again in our own countries whether it has already been taxed in USA or not. Particularly unfair on the people that don't live in a treaty country.

Also you are only taxed on images sold in the US which is a surprisingly small percentage of all sales.
