My photos of actual crabs have the gentlemen's search link, too. That's not as bad as the link I found on one of my photos of a parsley crop. Gross.

I've never had much luck at FP. Been there almost two years now and still haven't reached a payout. I quit uploading to them after going through a seven month drought with only one lousy sale.

I've been getting a bunch of referrals lately myself. Wonder where they are all coming from?

An odd duck slightly off center...that's me in a heartbeat! :-D Rubber duckies also make me smile.

Karin, I thought of you this week when a Vonage ad was on the top my homepage (local Free Press). They must rotate, it's another one today... They used an image like yours. The first thing I thought was "I wonder if they bought Karimala's famous brown paper bag!" LOL.
Too funny! :-) I shot a series of them after seeing a designer use one as an overlay...looked very cool. But a print? LOL My other favorite is the recent $50 EL purchase at Fotolia of a paper towel background. $50 for a paper towel. Whatever these buyers are smoking, please smoke more! ;-)

Sept. was my worst month all year. After a BME of 548 in March, my sales have been steadily declining. Sales in Sept. were all the way down to 244. Ugh. Oct. is starting off a couple of DLs per day higher, but I'm not holding my breath.

September was slower that usual...at least up until the last few days. Then Sideshow sales all of a sudden kicked in, including one large photo with a $6 commission. Four out of my 10 sales were from the Sideshow, so my earnings ended up as my 2nd highest BME without an EL. I love getting $1.50 instead of 30 cents for a blog size, and $6 for a large size instead of $1.20. Makes a big difference. I do wonder though if part of my drop in sales is due to increasing the prices on about 20% of my portfolio starting in August.
September 10 sales August 12 sales July 26 sales June 14 sales May 12 sales April 10 sales

Very true! I still see the same number of EL sales since increasing my prices to $50.

I'm a little late to the discussion, but still wanted to add my 2 cents.
As a full-time microstocker supporting my family on this income, my biggest concern is that StockXpert's subscription might take customers away from the two sites that pay me more: SS and 123RF...thereby causing a decrease in my overall income. If StockXpert would raise the commission from 25 cents to 30 or 36 cents, I would be much more supportive of the plan. I'm all for competition between the sites, and StockXpert is my #1 favorite site, but I just want to make sure my family and I are not hurt in the process. Those little nickels add up.

SS started with John uploading about 10,000 images of his own.

Albumo seems to go down a lot, especially at night Pacific Time.

I noticed it last month when I uploaded almost 200 photos of a large variety of subjects in two weeks. My sales rose as expected, since there were so many photos and subjects, but the sharp spike never came. In the past, I would have had over 100 sales per day between the new and old photos, and the highest I ever got was almost 70.

77% lower ... wow, that's a big hit to take.
You're not kidding! And I earn my living from microstock, so this really hurts. Sales from IS went from comprising 41% of my monthly income to a measly 16%, and the loss of 77% is equivalent to several hundred dollars per month.

Something I'm noticing is that folks who had a surge in sales after they started tweaking the search are now finding themselves in the dumps. My sales nearly doubled January (while many declined), and now nine months later I'm back on par with November/December. My BME was in March, and this month my projected earnings are 77% lower.
Whatever is happening, one of my friends who has always been exclusive is feeling it, too, and is considering going with multiple sites.
