Oops, just notice that you were looking for a free FTP client. Before I bought SmartFTP I did some research and could not find a free one that had the multi connection option... this was the most important option in my case.
I might be wrong, but when I was using FireFTP (free) I remember being able to upload to more than one site at once.
Yes, you can have up to 10 concurrent transfers.

I use Fire FTP for Firefox, nice and simple, no problems.

Tokina 12~24 has served me well. Not quite as wide but reliable and meets the budget.
BUT ... it isn't designed for full-frame cameras. I'm using it on D80.
It is also very well built and probably the next best thing to the nikon.

I would guess that they are combined payments. My payment was for more than I have sold at VM so it must have included SV payment also.

This bears repeating anyway. It's good to see a real world example of this.
'Friends' don't buy their buddy's images from an agency.
Rubbish.

To those who have upgraded to full frame cameras.
How much of an improvement in image quality have you noticed? I appreciate that better glass is required to fully show of the FF advantage and that pixel density has it's part to play, but on the whole, has upgrading to FF been worth it?

Thanks Phil, I probably won't be upgrading until the new year, so I can hang on for all the latest stuff. Using a Nikon D80 at the moment and I shoot mostly still life and land/seascapes.

I voted and then started reading, got through a number of posts before realised how old the thread was.
at the time of original thread I would have using the pentax ist ds, since then I have had the pentax k100d, k10d & k20d.
For the last 2-3 months I have had the sony a900 which unfortunately I've barely had the chance to use (but only another a week or so and I will back to shooting
I'm considering the A900, I would love to know how you get on with it Phil.

I think the real question is: why are our images being sold for $2 when buyers seem to be willing to pay $20

Hmmm I'd be interested to see what iStockphoto have to say about you using the term Vetta in your collections title.
And even though I don't qualify to submit to the iStock Vetta collection I must say your 'Better than Vetta' title is a bit cheap and rather pathetic IMO, especially for a site with so few sales, why not work on improving your sales with serious established marketing instead of tacky cheap phrases.
I have to agree with Richard here. I admire your 'go-get' attitude John but this just looks a bit wrong.

I guess I have to look into the cost of the FX lenses but I would think that with a baby on the way my expensive lens purchases would be few and far between. Having said that I may not be buying anything at all for a while anyway, if I go full frame it would force me to buy good lenses.
Is full frame the way cameras are evolving anyway, will that be the norm down the road?
The baby is another reason I was thinking D90...video
I might have 3k or so to spend, I was a bit conservative on that.
The D90 may be a good choice for you. I have two boys and we have shot loads of small clips of them from when they were babies, it's great to look back over them from time to time, video captures more about them than stills ever can. Priceless. I don't think $3000 is going to take you very far in the world of full frame, but it would get you the D90 and some great lenses.

I think Vetta at least got some people thinking that perhaps some images are worth more than micro prices, i like to see others (including ss) take it on board and build midstock collections.
I think this is without question the way forward.

ouch, sorry to hear.
I'd work on lesser camera with more / better lenses
I would go with this suggestion too, maybe a used D300, but I think the first decision should be full frame or APSC.

I get more and more StockXpert PPD and subs in last time...
StockXpert live long and prosper!!!
Yup, I'm seeing a good increase in PPDs, this month they have accounted for approximately 75% of $$ earned, which for me is a big turnaround.

StockXpert has dried up for me. I am "no where near" any kind of payout at the moment and am lucky to game a couple dollars a month. I'm gonna convert my earnings to credits, find someone nice who is near payout and buy something of theirs, then delete my portfolio.
I'm sure puravida would be interested in your kind jesture. I think StockXpert has forgotten my portfolio existed. I am thinking of deleting my account. I wonder if they would give me my money even though I am about 10 bucks shy of payout. Any ideas?

StockXpert has done well for me this month (and last month), they are ahead of IS and a tad behind SS in $$.

It's a shame you are deciding to withdraw your portfolio, I think many of us have a lot to gain by partnering with this site, especially as they develop there customer base over the next six months. For me at least VFM is far from being a waste of time, good luck to them and to those who decide not to take the leap of faith.
I just have no tolerance for mass rejections, especially from a new and unproven site. If contributors refused to tolerate that sort of treatment, Veer would be forced to adjust. As it is, they don't seem all that concerned about wasting contributors time. Call it a personality clash, but I have no desire whatsoever to do business with Veer. Usually new sites go out of their way to encourage contributors, and then as they get more successful, they tend to get less user friendly. Eventually, you start seeing rejections increase as their libraries get larger. Veer is starting out with mass rejections, and IMO it can only get worse from here - count me out.
How dare they reject your files, what do they know, you'll be better off with out them. That will teach them to waste your time.

If you don't like Veer then why contribute to them?

Has anyone ever tried to find an image at another microstock site that is similar enough to an exclusive image at IS? Is having exclusive images within a microstock collection that valueable considering the microstock model? How exclusive is an image if it has sold 10,000 times?
I think exclusive images via Vetta makes great sense.
I am sure there is going to be a great deal of change within the industry over the next few years, what if one of those changes was that every microstock agency insisted on contributor exclusivity, who would you partner with as they stand now? and what other changes would the agencies have to make to attract the talent? Would the race to the bottom be over?

I'm still on the fence about this one and have been giving it some more consideration lately. Anyone have any luck with Vectorstock? Has anyone gotten a file priced at more than 1 credit?
I put up about 20 vectors a few months ago, none priced more than 1 credit but they do sell quite well. I haven't uploaded anymore since this first batch, I too am on the fence, 25c is too low, I was enticed by the climbing commission scale. I think they will be around for a good while but maybe at the cost of other sub sites that pay more.

Currently I shoot and licence images for microstock and sell fine art prints of local interest landscapes and seascapes. Microstock sales are okay with all things considered and my fine art prints sell okay through local galleries. I would like to increase my fine art print sales via the interweb and I'm looking for an 'all in one' solution that takes care of sales, printing and delivery. Marketing would be great also, but I guess this is something I would have to do myself, unless anyone knows differently. Any info/experience you can share would be more than welcome. I'm not really looking for anything like Red Bubble or ImageKind but something more along the lines of services on offer by The Image File http://www.theimagefile.co.uk/Lastly, I have a few images on Flickr (I know, I know) I would greatly appreciate very honest feedback if you have the time to have a look http://www.flickr.com/photos/toastieman/
