Cobalt, last year you were making AI people and I was making videos, now you want to make videos and I want to make AI people!  :D

I haven't sold a single video this month,I have less than a thousand,in November I sold several, and generally I always manage to sell videos every month too.

I haven't done the precise calculation, maybe I will, but in the last 500 sales I believe that 50% are AI and 30% illustrative editorials,10% illustrations and vectors, and the rest 10% real photos and videos.

However,as I said,I will continue to work as I always have for the moment, dedicating time to the work I do,but then certainly if this slow growth continues, unfortunately I cannot afford it,and I will have to start uploading thousands of contents per month with the AI,otherwise it will take too long here!

assuming it is possible to grow quickly!

Glad to hear your December is going well. My December will probably be 15-20% less than Dec 23. The only month in this year which will be lower than last year.

eta now dropping to pos 505

thank you  :) ,but in reality I am not very satisfied with the results, because 50% more than a small sum is still a small sum!

to be at least acceptable it should be at least 150% more in earnings each month compared to the same month of the previous year, that is,in January 2025 I should make at least 150% more than in January 2024 and so for all the months!

and I repeat,150% more in earnings would be barely acceptable, given that a year has passed.

throughout this year I have more or less gone with 40-70% more in sales number every month compared to the same month last year.

anyway ok,for the moment I'll keep this 50% more,I will try to create more people content, the problem is that being able to do everything takes a long time.

What should I do?Should I start being an AI spammer too?  :D

I'll see how it goes,if I can grow quickly by continuing doing things well, even in indexing ok,if not I'll start being a spammer too, generate, upscale,AI indexing, without even looking at the contents and go!

I'll evaluate how next year starts,but I'm already framing a pattern I don't like.

we'll see next year I hope I'm wrong.

same here, less sales this week but the rank has increased quite a bit, precisely because this is the slowest week of the year due to the Christmas holidays,so in general we are all selling less than usual, and even a few sales increase the rank.

This year I even managed to sell on Christmas Day,something that had never happened before.

recovery begins on January 2nd,and clearly from January 6th we begin to return to normality.

I'm currently at about 70% more sales this month and about 50% more earnings compared to December 2023.

This December was by far the month in which I uploaded the most in almost 7 years, much more than usual.

I'm trying to finish my current project so I can move on to the next one,I also have several things in mind for Easter and I have to hurry because it's starting to get late.

too many things to do and too little time!  :D

thank you, happy holidays to you and all of you too!  :)

Process I use to keyword my images:

1)  Write in text editor comma separated list I can think of.  Do not look anywhere else - only the image, and what it conveys
2)  Cross-check against Adobe/Shutterstock suggestions.   Couple of words I didn't think of come out of this
3)  If I still feel I am missing something, I will search on Alamy for similar content
4)  Once satisfied I have captured everything essential, ensure most significant keywords are top 10 in the list (This is for Adobe mostly, but also helps with Alamy super tags later)
5)  Copy and paste.  Same for all agencies (including IS, don't worry about managed keyword nonsense)

AI suggestions could plug in somewhere around step 3.  But again, just blindly let AI keyword your image would be recipe for disaster IMHO

It seems like a good plan, well thought out.

as far as I'm concerned I invest even more time in indexing, but you have to consider that I also have more time, since I only work with Adobe, even if I still have other active ports.

is not possible to have 2 heavens in indexing,or in anything in life,or do things quickly or do them well.

certainly the right one would be in the middle, but often there are no shortcuts.

nice idea to test skills against AI!  :)

But excuse me I'm not taking part, you don't want me to flaunt everything I've learned in 7 years like it was nothing!  :D

just remember that the keywords are not shown, only the descriptions,no one will ever be able to copy the keywords to you by browsing the Adobe library.

Congratulations to all of you who are doing well!  :)

for me better week than last week, the 5th best ever in terms of number of sales so far, there's still tomorrow.

I'm also pleased that a particular Christmas content sold good,I worked a lot on it,and at least I can be satisfied with this.

generally my difference between one week and another is very minimal,in terms of number of sales with a very slight constant growth over time.

I also rarely have strong surges, which can triple and more my usual earnings, but these are rather rare events.

I've also noticed how a new indexing technique is starting to get noticed, but clearly I've been indexing content for almost 7 years now,I must have learned something!  ;)

It's really important to index content properly!

someone said there can't be two heavens,I don't know if that's true!  :)

I wouldn't use AI to index content, use your head instead!

Indexing content is very important,it is not a process to be skipped as quickly as possible, indexing is what ensures that your content is found,I prefer to do research on the topic I am dealing with instead.

I use AI to improve my work, but I prefer not to allow AI to control my work,I mostly create hybrids, not content completely generated by AI but only partially, then clearly I can also create completely AI content, why not,but even in this case,I will certainly have used generative fills or expansions.

To be honest, I don't agree not using AI for indexing and keyword generation.
If you use a good LLM with visual interpretation capabilities, you'll get extremely accurate results in approximately 99% of cases.
Even abstract concepts are often interpreted correctly.

It's not about AI dictating your work, but rather about leveraging AI as a tool to accelerate your workflow, guided by your expertise.

I never said "AI dictating my work",but I said "I don't allow an AI control my work".

Believe me when I tell you that an AI will never be able to index contents like a real person,it simply can't,unless the person indexing does so superficially.

but of course, you have the advantage of speed, you're right about that.

but then if you also have to see if the AI indexing was done correctly, and correct any errors or improve the result obtained,at this point you are better off indexing yourself,In my opinion.

208
"for ai metadata generation for images & videos! Lifetime Deal !" this clearly sounds like an advertisement!  :D

I prefer to work like this, because I believe that only the contents in which I have put my own effort can be highlighted, while contents generated only by prompts generally end up in the fray, although a very elaborate prompt may be different.

Firefly so far seems to me to be the best at interpreting prompts and transforming into images, even with very simple prompts you get the desired result, unlike MJ for example.

I'm not here to discuss the results, but for example I noticed that the skin of Caucasian people in MJ tends more towards cyan, generally speaking,it seems to me that the color tones of Firefly are better, warmer and better balanced, apart from the fact that Firefly is much easier and faster to set up,much more practical and faster.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobestock Review Time
« on: December 19, 2024, 12:30 »
the reviewers are real people, not AI,and in my opinion they also do an excellent job from what I see.

My theory on the files left on hold is that either there is no imminent need for these files, they are nothing new,or enough of the same files have already been approved,or an already high overall number of files has already been sent, they are not to be rejected, the quality is ok,but they can be left waiting for a while.so are put on hold.

Personally,if from a batch of 50 for example,40 are approved and 10 are left waiting, after a couple of weeks of waiting I generally delete them from the queue,if not before, except in extraordinary cases, because in my opinion it means "ok,that's fine, there's no problem with the content, but you can do better"

as far as I'm concerned, the reviews make me understand better how I should behave, and what can I improve.

it may happen that something is missing, they are human too,but I also think that if there is an animal with an extra leg but the overall content is of quality,it passes the review also in light of the fact that customers can use generative edits.

in short,in my opinion if the content has no technical problems and does not break any rules,at most it is put on hold, but in the end it is approved.

regarding the uploading problem,I also encountered the "fake" problem.

it's a fake problem, because it makes you believe there is a problem but in reality there isn't,because the error red banner appears and the contents don't seem to be uploaded, but just close the page, wait 30 minutes maximum, even less, reopen the page and the uploaded contents are among the new uploads.

Yes, I started before you were born. I think.. maybe you are that old  :D
And what's your point?

I'm just kidding Mike,as well as pointing out the obvious.

Who knows?Maybe I was already born in 1859 and then I was reborn in 1975!  ;)

I'm not old,but not that young either,I'm 49 years old.

another little move up, although sales volume is less.

pos 595

nice!  :)

the number of sales is already above last December but 0 video sales this month so far.

and I'm also stuck with real videos and photos at the moment,my Nikon DSLR's charger is broken!  :(

it doesn't cost much but I just changed the battery of the car, which I managed to find for 74,that is more or less a month's subscription to MIdjourney, not that I'm that interested,I don't think I'll make any more subscriptions to MJ in the near future,or if ever again.

for the moment I'll just continue with the AI,next year I'll buy the charger, also because it's cold in my studio and then I have to turn on the heating there too and then it's too much!  :D

That would be a slow day for my account of less than 1k assets  :D

yes but you started in the year 1859!  :D

"the white bumblebee with 8 legs, staircases that'll kill you, crabs & lobsters not found on planet earth"

but that's because it's science fiction stock content!  :D

contributors who started before AI like many of us here clearly see things differently because they are used to working differently.

me too, despite going as fast as possible,I will never be able to do what many new contributors do today, who upload 500/1000 contents a month or even more without even looking at them.

with AI today there are many more new contributors who have never used a DSLR,or read a photography book.

I was already taking photographs at the age of 12,at 14 I bought my first reflex camera,I was already printing in the darkroom, reading various photography magazines and books.

not that all this is of any use today, since things have changed so much that what was done in the past no longer has anything to do with what is done today.

I almost envy the lightheartedness of guys much younger than me who generate and send content like crazy without any worries,I would never be able to do it,because I was used to it differently, and I like to pay attention to details.

However,I wouldn't worry about the number of contents on Adobe Stock, because in my opinion we will all continue to sell and increase sales over time, some faster, some more slowly, but we will all continue to increase sales if we continue to work and upload regularly, and regularly doesn't mean spam,it means regularly.

I don't confirm the slowdown,in fact this week is already better than last week, and I have already reached last December's sales number.

From January my sales should increase further,I don't have much Christmas content and I definitely need to do more people,I already have ready and selected more generated people content, but I have to start working on it as soon as I finish the current project.

Lots to do,better get to work!  :)

I'd agree that there's no telling. I just had a burst of sales today. I never know why or when someone is going to want something. Cobalt is right about the Holiday sales, I always get a boost from that. But, I just had an Easter image download. Something I uploaded two years ago. My St. Patrick's Day project was a dud. Maybe they will pick up after two years of laying dormant? No I don't mean rank, just sales would be good.

I'm done uploading new, for this year. I'm saving anything else for 2025, to kick off the New Year with some uploads.

Pete, here every day is a kick off!  :D

I have sold enough of the few Christmas images I have, especially in November, but even these days continue to generate some sales.

I have many projects in the pipeline,I generated a lot from mid-October to mid-November.

I'm now going with the max speed possible,I've never uploaded so much in a so short time,as I have these days, this is because for me 2025 will be somewhat of a year of truth.

now,and in the next 2-3 months at least I have to go to the maximum, because in 2025 I need to see better result, concrete results.

i have to see a more consistence stream of sales, but this clearly depends above all on me and what I will be able to do,at least I think in part.

for the moment I am certainly pleased to see that this month has also been better than all the previous years, but there is still a long distance from here to saying that it is enough, this is why 2025 will be an important year for me,also for all the reasons I have written about here in the past.

In any case, for now I don't want to think about it and I just want to go to the max and then see what happens.

I hope I can make it,I'm also very tired!  :D

ok so different accounts work with a different ID,therefore limits, tax form, everything is different, however, they can be connected to the same PayPal account without problems.

yes,I thought that the person who believed that the account was blocked because it was connected to the same PayPal address was probably wrong,it didn't make much sense.

"a more regular uploading cadence will give your account greater visibility" this is important, thanks for confirming this.

I've been thinking about this for a while,and I believe like me,many.

so ok,I'll just continue with my account, since I don't see an imminent need at this point to create another one,in fact it may even be a disadvantage.

Thank you for shedding light on the issue I really appreciate it!  :)

Adobe Stock / Re: Multiple Accounts
« on: December 16, 2024, 19:56 »
ok, so there is the limit even if it shouldn't be there, because it's the same owner, the limit should be there if the person registering the account is new to Adobe Stock, and also the tax form should be the same for all accounts, if I already have a account and an approved tax form, it should all work in unison.

so that's not the case,ok thanks, good to know!

In the meantime I've been browsing the internet,I've just read about someone who had the account blocked because he owned 2 accounts connected to the same PayPal address.

is probably possible to get around this problem by linking the 2 accounts to the same PayPal account with 2 different email addresses, since you can have multiple email addresses on PayPal.

in any case I think that having more accounts brings more sales,my current account will continue to rise in my opinion anyway, and having a second account can undoubtedly bring further advantages.

but is there really this limit of 50 for beginners even for owners who have experience and therefore are not beginners?

and also the tax form?does it follow all the owner's accounts?I think it's possible.

There are many questions on this topic still unanswered,I've been thinking about it for a few months, maybe I should decide and start opening another account just for AI to get started and see how it works.

Adobe Stock / Multiple Accounts
« on: December 16, 2024, 16:00 »
since someone mentioned this in another thread, perhaps it is time to open a discussion on this topic which I believe is important to understand whether it is worth it or not.

This is a question I've been wondering about about it for a few months,is it worth having multiple accounts or not?

since it is possible to have an account for video, one for AI,one for photos and I believe also one different for vectors,is it better to concentrate everything in one or have 2 or 3 different accounts?

Is it possible to find the time to keep up with all these accounts? Is there a convenience or not?

ATTENTION:it is not possible to create multiple accounts for AI or for the same type of asset.

from Adobe Account and submission guidelines:

"You may create more than one contributor account if you wish to track different asset types in separate accounts, e.g., video submissions versus image submissions,or generative AI submissions versus traditional photos or illustrations. Also, if your account gets close to an online portfolio of 1 million assets,we recommend you open a new account.

We dont permit multiple account creations to submit similar or identical content to inflate sales,or to bypass upload limits for generative AI content.Duplicate or multiple created accounts that violate this rule may result in the accounts being blocked or terminated".

my idea was to open an account only for AI and one only for videos and continue the current account with photos, illustrations and vectors.

What do you think?Do you have any experience with this?

General Stock Discussion / Re: What's the Future of Microstock
« on: December 16, 2024, 07:08 »
I'm uploading an average of 200 contents per month,in my opinion 2/300 contents per month is the right balance also to be able to take care of indexing in the best possible way.

I think the number of uploads is really not very relevant to measure future sales.

The important things are two: quality and saleability of images.

Here on the forum someone mentioned the Adobe Stock portfolio of Romolo Tavani: 3000 images, more than 1,000,000 downloads.

And then we read some blogs of contributors who with 20,000 images do not exceed 100$ per month on Adobe. And looking at their work you can understand why they make so few sales.

So I think the focus should be: quality, quality, quality on images requested by customers. And not 2/300 or 1000 images per month. If you dont improve the quality of your work you will remain at your current level.

of course,I agree,in fact,as I have already said many times, the contents that I sell the most are the contents on which I have wasted the most time.

200 contents per month are few, this month I will probably upload more than this, but it depends on the type of work I'm doing.

but to earn money in microstock, like any other business, you also need to have the ability to invest money in hardware, equipment,AI subscriptions,travel....

if you don't have the opportunity to invest in all this,it is much more difficult to earn more, and above all to grow quickly.

General Stock Discussion / Re: What's the Future of Microstock
« on: December 15, 2024, 17:51 »
in my opinion this is true for most agencies but not for all and especially not for Adobe.

we are and will always be useful to the agencies, the point is simply that some agencies have no intention of continuing a long-term collaboration with us contributors, and there are clear signs that indicate this.

the greatest signal,as big as Mont Blanc,is if an agency does not accept AI content from contributors.

Like it or not,the future of digital content is with AI,even if the need for real content is there and will always be there.

so if an agency doesn't accept AI it's a red flag, they would need us if we agree to be a minimum expense, otherwise for these agencies we are relative, that's why the change in SS royalty structure for example.

"if you stick with that for us is ok" say SS or IS "otherwise there is a road there,we don't care!"

why do we serve agencies if there will be perfect text to image AI?

first of all because we are all a giant, unstoppable, inimitable machine of ideas, customers need our ideas.

then we all live in different locations,we can produce real photography and videography from all over the world, which would otherwise be impossible without us.

then there is time, the most precious resource in the world,we are time,AI can be as perfect as you like, but it takes time to produce content, while browsing a library and seeing and downloading content is much quicker.

therefore,in my opinion,we are indispensable to all agencies, but we just need to understand which of these intend to continue collaborating with us,who is interested and who is not.

that's definitely one reason why I decided to go ahead and work only with Adobe, because in my opinion Adobe is a guarantee of long-term collaboration, and imo the signs are everywhere.

For me this has been a bad week, but at least not the worst of the year!

I just took a look at last year's sales,I actually think sales should continue at a normal level until December 23,then pick up again on the 27th,then perhaps another small break between January 31st and 2nd.

From what I see from last year's sales, sales should continue pretty normally even during the holiday period, except perhaps for those days.
