thanks -- one of the annoying features of Office 365 is that it doesn't save individual worksheet sizing, so occl'lyu a column doesn't display, and when I copied the latest, I missed the first table column which started with <tr><td> resulting in everything on one line - and of course murphy was vigilant since I was on my way out and didn't test this time!
all show be ok now
Another annoying feature is that it doesn't bother with luxuries like </tr> and </td> tags, so you can't just copy the html and import it into TablePress...

All our files are AdobeRGB and we've had no trouble with processing for weeks now. The customer resized files now keep the AdobeRGB profile since the latest update, but the previews and thumbs don't.

Hey Steve, your network list is looking a bit odd! Anyway, can you please update our details? Travelling-light is now PictureMojo at http://picturemojo.co.nz, 1790 images on line. Thanks!

Does anyone know what controls whether or not down arrows are shown in dropdowns to indicate submenus? They aren't showing in Image Categories on our main site at http://picturemojo.co.nz but they are at http://kiwistock.co.nz when both have Symbiostock 1.3.7 and identical child CSS sheets. Menu structures seem to be the same on both sites.

After processing, clicking on All Images just goes to a white screen. I have to refresh it and wait a minute or two for it to work.
In case it gives a clue to anyone as to whats wrong, my php.ini file contains this only:
upload_max_filesize = 64M post_max_size = 64M extension=imagick.so
Should it contain anything else to help with this? Again, I am on Bluehost.
Are you sure it's timing out? There's a lot more processing going on in the latest version and it does take time. The white screen with just the 'Process Images' title can appear at any time while the server is working - or not appear at all - but if the full screen doesn't load then the server is still processing. In Firefox, the pinwheel keeps spinning in the tab header until the rest of the screen appears, with the file list header and footer. That's the signal that processing is finished. ETA: Your php.ini settings are fine.

What ever email assigned to your login is what you should be seeing. If you check your account settings is the email correct?
Interesting! It looks as if I haven't logged out for a couple of weeks and the email was coming from a cookie rather than current config. I logged out and back in, and it's updated that email. Fixed! Thanks!

Image contact is taken from the user email you are logged in with.
My user email is [email protected] and has been since we moved the site. That's the odd bit. I can't find that old email in any WP table.

Just installed and looking good!
Just a quick question, Leo - where are you getting the email address for the copyright notice in the image metadata? I'm getting the old one showing up, and I can't find where it is in the config to update it.

For now it rests this way - if you already had data, it will stay there on downloadable ones
Great! That's the important bit from our point of view.

Thats interesting. I saw it in reverse, that its more likely for a picture to need IPTC that is for display on the web.
The problem is with people buying 3000+px images on subscriptions and displaying them on blogs at 600px, leaving the originals accessible. Google Images spiders them, making these big unwatermarked pics available for everyone. Not good for our sales! If these pics have no metadata, it's easy to say you didn't know who owned the rights to them.

The question is - accounting for ALL issues - everyone has different quirks like this. Its hard put in a one-solution-fits-all for this problem. The vast majority of people will not have exif problems like this as far as I know (could be wrong, I'm an illustrator).
My solution:
1. Embed EXIF/IPTC in previews (web stuff) 2. DO NOT embed it in sold images (ie, IPTC is blank)
This is so customer does not see a funky "info" prompt and think they bought a faulty image (which is not the case, but you know how people are)
Does this sound like a good compromise? I'd like some opinions.
Also I'd like to let everyone know I fixed the crash bug for those using GD library. It was a typo in code.
It's much more important to have IPTC metadata in the downloaded file than the previews and thumbs, as it's our major protection against 'Orphan Works' ripoffs. Previews can at least have watermarks.

Found the problem. Its your embedded thumbnails. And there is no obvious ways to "deal" with these at this point since its a custom feature your camera uses. I'm going to opt to just let it sit "as is" because it does not corrupt the image, but just gives an annoying "unreadable" prompt.
Here's a snippet from the library I'm using concerning this issue:
WARNING: Because the EXIF standard allows pointers to data outside the APP1 segment, if there are any such pointers in a makernote, this function will DAMAGE them since it will not be aware that there is an external pointer. This will often happen with Makernotes that include an embedded thumbnail. This damage could be prevented where makernotes can be decoded, but currently this is not implemented. Out of some nerdy curiosity does your camera end up being one of these?:
Agfa, Canon, Casio, Contax, Epson, Fujifilm, Konica, Minolta, Kyocera, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax (Asahi), Ricoh and Sony
Generally this package handles all of these, but the thumbnail issue will remain. Its not crucial, just annoying.
Canon, and also Panasonic - same issue. OK, I can just suppress the warning if it's nothing major. I see from ExifToolGUI there's a 256px thumbnail in there. Thanks, Leo.

When I open a preview or thumb in Photoshop, I get a warning popup: "This file contains image info data which cannot be read and has been ignored.". Obviously I can't see what that is in PS, and Thumbs Plus sees the same metadata as PS.
Your on a mac? That might be the issue (and I can probably fix it)
Nope, Windows 7 PC

Just installed 1.3.6 and given it a run. Processes OK (Bluehost hosting), writes metadata in the preview and thumbnail. Definitely getting there! However... When I open a preview or thumb in Photoshop, I get a warning popup: "This file contains image info data which cannot be read and has been ignored.". Obviously I can't see what that is in PS, and Thumbs Plus sees the same metadata as PS. Will you be able to write EXIF back as well? In the copyright statement, some jurisdictions want the precise format "2013 J Random Snapper" for full protection. The Contact fields are the correct places for creator email and website. Creation Date should preferably be the EXIF Original Date/Time. And the reprocess will be essential, to catch up with edits after upload. No rest for the wicked, Leo!

Is there a way to set default prices? I'm not seeing any or am I missing it?
Thanx
Symbiostock > Author Options > Pricing and Options Enter your prices with decimal and cents, eg 10.00 to work correctly. The pricing is applied at the Process Images stage.

An update for those who were paying attn to this thread...
I'm well along in the "imagemagic" update. The results are very very good. Color is far better...image quality (pixel quality) ... glad to finally be fixing this. Memory use is much better as well.
Good news! If colour is better, does this include converting AdobeRGB originals to sRGB thumbs and previews?
Yep! Your the guy who mentioned that first aren't you? Would you mind if we did a test-spin on your site before I release this? I still have to do the IPTC fixes as well, but I'd love to see your insight since you know just what to look for. I'd like your opinions on image smoothness too. Possibly in a few hours we'll be ready for a quick test run, then you can switch back to your previous theme.
That's fine, I won't be far from the computer for about 6-7 hours now.

If the image on BS cost 16 cent then 123RF is no longer the low price leader;
365 days-1960 Price Per Image : 0,21
We are outraged about 123 leading the race to bottom pricing, but we should be even more outraged about BS.
You can't be outraged unless you have removed your files. When people make posts like this, they should also state that whether or not they have done so.
Are you suggesting that all the people that are outraged by IS need to remove their portfolio there?
I dont have any obligation towards you to tell you my business for that matter. I can be outraged whenever I please to be outraged.
For your information, I stopped uploading to 123 back in November and deleted my portfolio at BS.
Well done. I'm a great believer in action rather than words. I believe though, that if you are going to say you are outraged about something, you may as well say at the same time what you have done about it. There are many people reading this forum who never say anything, and if they see that you are actually doing something, they may do something too. There is far too much pointless moaning in this forum, with very little action.

Ok I got it back. I have NEVER, in all this time, had a menu item named Home in my main menu under Appearance>Menus. It has just always shown up in my main menu.
I have it back, but the only way to keep it in the menu is to use the word Home as a page title. I don't want the word Home to appear above my slider. How can I fix this?
Use one of the Home Page templates, they don't show the title.
I am using Home Page CTA
Sorry, you're right, it's only the Home Page simple which doesn't show the title. I thought we'd had that with the others too.

I read that the network will be extended from 5 to 10 which is a good idea. Which made me think it was soon time to extend and complete my slots! For my networking I like to find more IF POSSIBLE with the following features: 1) Aiming at a size of 3000/ 4000 or more at the end of the year 2) Fair keyword & description of the pictures. I know that this is not my strong point, but I'm making a lot of efforts for my site that I have never made for MS (bulk keywording with collateral mistakes....). 3) Complementary or similar? well I still dont know; so I'm still opne on this point. 4) I think it is clear to everybody that network links are not for ever; we shall be able to experiment with new ones in the light of the results given.
Also I want to find somebody (from my network or not) who will be interested in mutual sparing partnership in the comming weeks. Me testing his site, he/she testing mine. We should both accept that we have other activities beside this....so no stress....
Jean
I've added you to my network list & will be watching what appears from your site. I've got about 900 images online now, probably aiming towards 5000
when first discussed, it seemed like complementary sites would work best, but I don't think that makes as much sense IF you're ex[pecting traffic to come to your site thru google etc -- if they don't find what they want on your site, they'll want to see SIMILAR content from other sites
if, however, ypour site gets traffic independently of search engines, then a complementary network might make more sense
I'm very much in two minds. Looking at latest 20 sales on DT, the search term which led to the sale is correct only about half the time, eg searched gas burner, bought butter, searched salmon, bought chicken, searched eggplant, bought mushrooms. Maybe they had these things in mind for other searches, so having complementary links could work, and it helps to spread the knowledge of what is available on the network. I know what you mean though Steve, very often when I search our site, nothing at all comes up in our links. I'd like to see those slots filled, but until more people join I guess they will remain empty.

Yes, forget gender. We'd have to put "both" which could be confusing
