I went ahead and registered and was reading the Photographer Agreement and the following bothers me.......are you giving away your copyright or is it the translation from German.......and what is " droite de suite"

II. Transfer of Rights
1. The photographer transfers to Picture Agency all (copyright) rights of use of the picture material for every kind of commercial and/or non-commercial use. The right to exercise accessory rights and droite de suite is also transferred.
2. The Picture Agency acquires in particular the following rights, where it is hereby expressly laid down that the following list is not final:
2.1 The right to transfer, copy and/or otherwise to reproduce and/or distribute the picture material in any format to any picture, tone or other multimedia data media known at the time the agreement is signed and to load the material into online networks (e.g. Internet) and to make it accessible to online users.

I use Zenfolio for my site, seems to have everything that I need.

I use the Pro account since I need to allow digital content download and also the ability to setup different licensees, plus the ability to overlay my domain name over my zenfolio account.

Here is my site.....http://gallery.stockfoodpics.com/?Submit=Enter+Gallery%2FStore

And here is a link to Zenfolio.....http://www.zenfolio.com/

Edited to fix the URL link.........Thanks RacePhoto for the notification of error on the link.

I use a tool called called itag, a few of the things I like about it is you can select multiple images to tag at the same time, keywords, title and desc. It also stores the entered keywords in a keyword library so you can just click on the word or phrase to add to the image keywords.

I have been using it for about a half year now.

I use the MRock Canyon Lands 676 its a larger bag, combo backpack/sling bag but check out their other models. I believe all their other bags have removable felt covered dividers and such so you can configure as needed.......they are quality bags at a lower price than lowpro.........http://www.m-rock.com/#Camera%20Backpacks%20Sling%20Backpacks

I got mine at bhphotovideo for 135 bucks.

I ran across this blog post about some site that was using istock watermarked thumbs and got a take down notice from Getty.

Reading the comments section gives you an idea how some of these thieves think, its their right, its fair use and so on.

Here is the link if you care to have a look........if you do it will probably piss you off, like it did me.

Got my first book cover with an image from Bigstock, one of my first when I started about 2 years ago......The guy forgot to credit it for me but he had Liz at BS get a hold of me to let me know and apologized for not crediting me. I'll probably buy since it appears to be my kind of reading.........hard copy out a little later.

Can't get in either. I was opt'd in for the ThinkStock thing, did not delete portfolio, have cash in my account.....whats up...! Tried firefox, chrome and safari....no go.

Some of my istock port made it to ThinkStock but none of my StockXpert has made it there yet.

Here is my attempt at a multi-image horizontal/vertical build....

Loon Lake Panorama View, located in El Dorado county, California, This shot consists of 36 different images stitched together to form a single image that was 51,444 pixels wide by 8,532 pixels tall. I reduced this image by 50% so that it is 25,944 pixels in width (did'nt have enough memory to convert the full sized image). This was then diced up into 1500 separate images to produce the zooming/panning abilities without downloading a massive image across the internet.

The scroll wheel works to zoom and you can grab the image to slide it around when zoomed in.

Yeah smugmug looks good.  Pretty similar to Zenfolio, but $150 is a little steep for just one event that I may or may not make any money from.  Zenfolio is $100/year but even that is pushing it.  I am not making any profit on the wedding (it was for family) so I don't really want to have a lot of expenses.

There is around a promotion code to save 50% on the yearly fee. I used it and it works. Cant remember where I got it from though.

Here is a link where you can look up coupon codes, coupons and all kinds of coupons to save you some cash on just about anything out there........I did a look up on Smugmug.....http://www.retailmenot.com/view/smugmug.com

I managed to save 5 bucks on my zenfolio account......also grocery coupons and you can even drill down to your local area for savings.

Veer / Re: Veer - a big waste of time
« on: July 28, 2009, 19:48 »
Actually this is the full text of the rejection I believe cascoly is referring to....

Rejection comments
Not suitable for stock lack of commercial appeal. Issues with composition, subject matter and technical quality- not quite suitable for Veer Marketplace.

I think if the rejected images were technically good then the reason should just be....not quite suitable for Veer Marketplace ............I believe I've seen one of the other agencies do something like (though your image is technically sound its not quite what we are looking for)

I just had 6 of 11 images rejected for the above reason and the same images were all accepted at the Big 6 and a number of them have had sales. (the other 5 disappeared somewhere, missing in action, sent an email)

I've had some batches with 90%+ approval and others with MUCH, much less. I've learned to just move on and submit the next batch and since I am submitting to about 10 or so agencies, the images they rejected are still out there selling at one place or another.

If you enter your SV user name in the search box for Veer Marketplace the search will return all of your images that have been transferred from SV to Veer.

Print on Demand Forum / Todays Best At Zazzle
« on: February 22, 2009, 19:25 »
New to micorstock as of about a year ago and have portfolios at the usual agencies and doing okay as they build in size.

I saw a post on Zazzle.com on here a while back and decided to give it a try. Created a few products and then did not rally do much with it. Well since m camera is down and in the shop ( the dreaded fEE error) I have time to do other things and uploaded more images and created some new products and integrated a few of their plugins into my site. Checked my email a little later in the days and I actually into "Todays Best" for my "California Mini's".....first award/recognition for any photo work....very cool..!!!!

Had to tell someone......

Not using this image at any stock sites, it has its problems but can be fixed and used a Topaz Labs tool, highly filtered to get the effect on the image.

Zymmetrical.com / Re: zymmetrical - removing images
« on: July 25, 2008, 14:28 »
Hello zymmetrical,

Thanks for responding to my post, appreciate it.

I was just really shocked at the rejection qty, over it now and understand where your coming from.

I will continue to submit and hope some of my images meet your sites acceptance criteria. It takes a little time to feel out a site and get an understanding what they are really looking, I'll get there.

I still have a number of uploads to do and most likely will get some rejections but I can live with that.

Once again thank for the explanation and  for fixing my email address.

Regards,
Don

Zymmetrical.com / zymmetrical - removing images
« on: July 24, 2008, 09:49 »
Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a way to delete images from my profile at zymmetrical. I can not see any way to delete.

I also  entered my email with a .con, should be .com but I can not find anyway to change my email address.

I just joined this site the other day and had major rejections. I sumitted images that have been accpted and have regular sales at all other sites, DT, IS 123 and so on........ probably about a 90% rejection rate Zem....Across all sights that I submit  I might have an average of 25% rejection.

Since it does not look like this site allows you to control your image (delete (accepted/uploaded)), can't change my email, they do not respond to submitted to a trouble ticket......I most likely will not submit to this site anymore.

Thanks for any info you can give removing images from Zem.
