Terrible battery life, massive file sizes which means lots if expensive SD cards, low quality screen that you can often barely see when shooting outdoors... are a few of the other shortcomings.

But if you can put up with those, the image quality is amazing and unparalleled in that price range.

Ideally I wouldn't want to settle for 30%. But in a time when only P5 and SS are making any money for us, and after years of trying to support various 50% sites that rarely sell anything, I'm here to make money. Dissolve is one of the few other sites that are putting a lot of effort and money into advertising, which equals sales. It's the same cut as SS, and if you have your clips priced in their $80 tier you get the same (or more) per sale as on SS. As for the race to the bottom, Dissolve's lowest price tier is $50, the highest is $300. That's going against the race to the bottom of the price barrel, of which even SS is trying to bring in with the BigStock subscriptions.

They had a controversial start, but made some changes and got rid of their $5 tier prices. They only give 30% but have been heavily advertising, a good sign of more potential for sales than other sites. So I have recently started to try them out. I don't have much to go on yet, but sales so far have been very good for the files I have had up there.

It had been a very quiet year for me on Revostock too. Until last month thinks picked up rapidly and sales were back to normal. Hope it keeps this up, as they are a great site, just have fallen way behind P5 and SS.

I upload my 4k time lapse videos at 4096 x 2304 as it gives more options for resolution, cropping and resizing for the buyer. It is keeping the 16:9 ratio for downsizing easily to UHD, or can be easily cropped to any other ratio including 4096x2160.

Sounds like Pond5. When they redesigned the site the got rid of categories.

Videos sell very well at SS. Consistently neck and neck with P5 for the best selling site for me. Most sales are around the $19-$24 mark, with some smaller amounts occasionally with the smaller size sales. As said above, what sells on SS and what sells on P5 often differ, so having videos on different sites helps sell a wider spread of videos.

Costs a lot more, but much faster and fantastic service.

After too many frustrations with Bluehost, I ditched them late last year. Having a much better time elsewhere.

In regards to the subject of the thread and your first paragraphs, I checked again and what I assume are your clips now show up in the first 30 for "shack" (best match search) and one of yours comes up first for "man" and "shack". Therefore I think you do stand a very good chance there.

There is a lot of badly key worded footage on P5, as with all agencies. Those bother me a lot more than a barn owl showing up when I am searching for a barn. At least as a buyer I understand that a barn owl may show up. If I keep seeing hands shaking and other completely irrelevant results when I search for "shack", that may turn me off a site and should definitely be cleaned up. I have sent messages to contributors before to let them know of incorrect spellings like that, and they are always appreciated and fix their errors. It would be better if P5 could do something from their end to help this though.

When was it accepted? It usually takes 3-4 days after acceptance for clips to show up in search results. It also would help a lot if you showed us your clip, so we can see your keywording, etc.

Having the notification as just a total summary would be good for me. If I want to see the individual agencies I can just open up the app to see them.

The $1 is just the automatic default. To set your price put in the price you want for the full size image (i.e. $10, $25, etc) in place of the $1, and they will automatically calculate the prices for smaller sizes for you from that price.

Revostock is consistent. I sell about the same amount there as on iStock.
Motion Elements has been great to work with so far. Sales have been slow though, but really easy to upload.
Both have csv metadata import.

Pond5 and Shutterstock are far in front of all the rest.

Then if you to upload to some others for the occasional sale while giving contributors a fair deal, Clipcanvas and Revostock.
