Was it a duplicate of one of YOUR blue flaming images, or someone else's?
That's not so important...

It is important, they usually don't accept duplicates. I think this is a GOOD thing!

In my expirience there's no way to know if an image will sell well on one site or another because each site has its different costumers... you have to find out which one sells your images better.

I think DT shouldn't have the same reviewers for illustrations and photos. I'm not a reviewer and yet knew this very popular Misha's image...

Not a silly question at all.

Go to My Credits> My Conversions> Convertible Credits

I deleted it because I found it :)
Thanks anyway!

istock:
1. Vector File (EPS): 1 editable vector file, saved as an AI8-compatible EPS.

AND

2. Thumbnail Image (JPEG): 1 RGB JPEG preview thumbnail of your illustration sized 1900 x 2800 pixels (or an equivalent pixel dimension). Your thumbnail can be larger if you wish.

OPTIONAL:
You may submit alternate file formats (PDF, AI, etc.) inside a ZIP folder, though this isn't required. Your preview thumbnail JPEG is included in the customer's download so there's no need to submit another raster file in your ZIP folder.

IMPORTANT!! We do not accept illustrations derived from imagery that you did not create. If your file is derived/traced from another artwork (a sketch, 3D render, photo, etc.), you will need to submit a lo-res JPEG of your source file for inspection. Make sure you have your source file ready to upload for Step 4.

Instead to answer I will tell you a story , a sad sad , but very true story but I want mention nations , probably some of us will know from where the story is.

Imagine 2 nations at war , one superior at that time but not capable to win. Here comes international forces and stand between them and they build a protection zone in surrounded city.

The offered shelter to the weaker side which was defending that city ,with condition to give all weapons to UN forces ,and they have accepted that , entered in camp surrounded with wires and stuff and UN were protecting them.

Next thing that happened , that the other side requested from UN they they abandon the safety zone and that they will held the people in camp prisoners and treat them fair like prisoners under Geneva convection.

You know what happened next , UN turned the head , went away from a protected zone and left 10 000 people , mostly older people , women and children and wounded solders  in hand of paramilitary troupes.

In next few hours they were all killed , mostly with knives , so that international forces soldiers can enjoy their drinks in some near restaurant without the unnecessary gunshots.

If there wasn't UN forces , they would mosly be alive cause the help was on the way.

Ten years after , the man that was leading those UN troops was on TV again. This time he was receiving a medal for his brave work in service.

So U ask me what I think , I think that U and people like you that know everything from your big plasma screens should know that in war nothing works , no international solider is willing to risk his life unless is attacked and he is there to get his paycheck and return home safely. There are no heroes , there is no God , if you stand in a way to a bullet it will hit you if a fight begins , soldiers are down or they run watching the sky for some air support and protecting their lives

So when a child thinks that you are protecting him , how would you explain him your prime orders  that you are protecting strategic places like oil pumps , and tanks , not him.
Now imagine you were  at the age of 10 that day , and you are one of about 20-30 people that have escaped from that camp where 10 000 were masacred.
Would you support the anti-interventionism in any country when you didn't support them even when they were defending you.

My opinion , well , if the world was normal I would support anyone who wants to stop any fight or torture anywhere , but if they gets there as a spectators , whit hidden purposes, with a plan to wait that fight is over , take credit for that, and builds his army base that he will use for his future military purposes , and conclude some business contracts , then NO I don't.

I'll leave it at this since you are incapable of answering a single question....

<sarcasm>
Next time there is a questionable intervention, I'll petition our government to get YOUR opinion before we make any foreign policy decisions, because I know you will have the US best interest in mind....
</sarcasm>

I think Lizard answered your question... you just don't understand it.

In my expirience, IS is slower than SS when you have a small port, but when your port grows IS sales are much better than SS's. But of course... this happened to me, doesn't have to happen to you.

« on: March 13, 2008, 07:35 »
Of course you can do more complicated illustrations! You just have to add more elements and take more time. Like Paulo said, it worth it. Once you are in, you can send simple illustrations... they will cost just $1, but can make you good money. For example, I made a shamrock (as simple as yours) that costs $1, it is on line since 01/11/2008 and has 362 dls which made me $112.
Of course it's up to you, but if I were you I'd go for it!

Adelaide, like Paulo, I think the aliens are ready to go, but I wouldn't use the clock. If I were you I would take the time and make some more complicated illustrations to pass the test. It worth the effort.

I don't know how to help you, because I don't know how I passed the test on just 1 try. All I can tell you is that you must send 3 very different images... and I think silouettes are too simple and doesn't show your abilities as an illustrator or designer... you have to be creative, and I think it is hard to show you are creative with silouettes.
I can show you 2 of the 3 ones that made me pass the test, hope this helps you.

I am so sad... I just became exclusive to IS, and this sounds like the best stock site ever! If only we can have an undo option in real life...
 ;D

48
bigmac, could you tell me which agency wont reply to your account cancellation requests and with which ones, appart from DT, you must leave your images at least 6 months?
I'm asking because I'm planning to be exclusive by the end of the month and I might have missed something...

thanks!

« on: March 05, 2008, 09:13 »
Are you talking about StockXpert ot IS? If the answer is IS, let me tell you they are not accepting vectors with fonts... even if you made it. Basically some text is okay if it isn't a main focus. There are some exceptions that I don't understand... but that's the way it is...
