I've thought about that. I use enough other software that dropping it for a month wouldn't impact my workflow. And I frequently rebuild my library from scratch. If I do pay, it will be the Photo plan. The all apps plan has no extra value to me, and certainly isn't worth an extra $42 a month.

Yeah, it would be nice if I maintain my level if the plans didn't have a gap in them. A day or a month, it costs the same.

Yeah, I was thinking that. I'm actually considering dropping to the Creative Cloud Photography Plan. Last year was my first in the All Apps plan, I didn't make any use of it.

Looks like I just squeaked by.
Bad news is, I have to pay by Feb 4, so I may have to pony up for one month.

My commercial stuff is getting 80-100% rejected. Editorial 80-100% accepted. Same photographer, camera, lenses, lighting, and composition.
Different Reviewer.

In 2017, I switched to a Fuji (currently have the XT-3) as I wanted to cut the weight of what I was carrying around. I've been very happy with the image quality. I had previously used Canon for decades - wasn't unhappy with the quality, but sold all the gear and lenses and started afresh.
Exactly this for me, except it was 2019. Once I made the decision, I didn't want to deal with adapters. For much less the price of what was available then in Canon mirrorless and one piece of decent glass, I got the XT3 and 5 lenses I have been extremely happy with. As a bonus, it made photography fun again.

I've been trying to turn those emails off for years with no luck. Have them marked to go straight to spam folder so I never see them.

I can't speak to the volume of upcoming additions though I expect more to be approved. I've been informed that all payments have been added now. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks for all of your feedback and participation.

No prob. I backed into the number a different way before the email. Looking forward to more.
Thanks, Mat Mat, just an FYI an email went out after the payment that says, "Weve added an upfront payment of US$ to your overall earnings balance."
I assume, an amount was intended to be included. Thanks for this.
Thanks for the report, we are aware. Sorry for the mistake. I'm not sure if we will be sending a revised email with the payment amount included. To determine the amount you received, take the number of approved photos and multiply by 5.
Thanks again,
Mat Hayward

TL;DR version, need a new Windows laptop. Want the best I can get for photo editing.
Looking for some help. I'm ready to buy a new laptop and want to get as much input as I can. The only firm spec I have right now is that it be a Windows laptop. I've been running laptops for 30 years and not interested in changing - also don't want to learn a new OS.
My current build is a Dell XPS 8th Ge i7 2.2Ghz with 32Gb Ram and a Nvidia GeoForce GT 1050 Ti and a 1Tb SSD
It has served me well, although it runs hot sometimes and bogs down occasionally. It's starting to show age in keyboard and usb ports so, it's time. I've always done well with IBM and Dell, but I'm not overly partial to any brand of laptop, processor or video cards. Of course, I could always just go with the latest version of this model and call it done. Between clickbait, PPC, and affiliate marketing, trying to research anything on the web has become useless.
So, I want to ask you guys.
My highest use would be with my normal load of Chrome browser, Evernote, email and both Photoshop and Lightroom running.
I say this next part with caution, but money is no object. Having said that, looking at the core specs of the really expensive machines don't look a lot better than that of the mid-range. I am assuming I will pay somewhere between $2500 and $5,000. The Alientech gaming machines have great specs but, I don't really need the fancy keyboard or speaker system, but if that gets my specs up, I'm good with that.
I get a lot of conflicting advice on CPU vs GPU vs RAM and which I should invest in. Is 64Gb RAM going to buy me anything when I max out at 67% usage with my 32GB? At what point does one more generation of CPU help? Nvidia or AMD.
If you were speccing out the perfect machine what would it be? Looking for any and all advice. Thanks

How can I cancel my subscription so it doesn't renew after a year? When I paid my first annual subscription it said in the terms and conditions that you can cancel your yearly membership fee at any time, but now I can't find where to do that. Do I have to close my credit card because of this? I hate these kinds of fees, which are secretly renewed after a year.
https://fineartamerica.com/controlpanel/premiumfeatures.html
Remove your CC number, they won't renew.
There's a link on the main menu to close the account. Looks like two clicks. Why not just do that, the reopen a free account. Seems simple.
Ha Ha, reply from FAA support? It's like spotting Bigfoot. People have reported that, but mostly unconfirmed.
Once you have a valid credit card in FAA you cannot remove it. You are handcuffed. Since emailing support is useless, you need to call your credit card company to stop the charges. They really are a scumbag company to set up their payment that way. Why not just have a toggle to turn on and off your renewal? They do not give you that choice, rather they force you to jump through hoops to avoid or reverse a payment if you choose to skip the Premium membership. By the way, Premium membership does not get you any kind of placement consideration. It merely lets you upload as many pics as you want, along with some other useless features they Market as "PREMIUM".

Mat, I have a similar problem except my award code was for All Apps and my paid sub is the Photography Plan. Now I have a free All apps plan through next February and I'm still being charged for the Photography plan. I am able to go online and cancel the Photography plan, but got all the warnings about things getting crippled and my Adobe Portfolio getting deleted.
Is it safe to cancel the photo plan? My Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app seems to know I have the All Apps plan, so that should be okay, but I don't Wany my online Portfolio to disappear.
I clicked on support but just got the bot and it didn't understand what I was trying to do.
Is there an email for support?
Thanks
If both subscriptions are in the same Adobe ID, I don't see the risk. That said, I'm not an expert with Creative Cloud subscriptions so you should probably contact customer service through adobe.com to double-check if you are concerned.

I did get back on chat and asked for an agent. An excellent guy named Tarif was able to sort it out quickly. Thanks again.

Thanks, Mat. I'm going to pull the trigger. Worst case, I have to rework the portfolio which needs a refresh anyway.

I never got the email and now on February 10, Adobe is the only 1099 I still don't have.

So, Matt, if two-step verification is turned off, why would it ask Stocksubmitter for a verification code every time I use it?
Thanks

I got it and changed my password. Now I get an endless parade of recaptcha crap and can never get to the site. As far as I'm concerned recaptha is the worst thing that ever happened to the web. Other than animated gifs

For 16 years, I made more on SS than other sites combined. Today, I earned $5 on SS and $65 on Adobe.
They will be no loss to me. They haven't been relevant since before Jon left.

I'm not entirely sure what kind of a bet Kate at Shutterstock lost to be the face of this fiasco.
I'm not even sure Kate is a person. But if she is, I think she'll go the way of Alex Shutterstock soon.

I have 27K images with them. I've been uploading 200+ a week for months. No more. I just deleted all pending images. I will be shocked if this doesn't get reversed. I've never seen such a backlash in my 16 years doing this.

An agency that has gone from 66% of my sales to 30% just decided to screw its long time contributors.
Goodbye.
Hello, Adobe. Long live the king.

So, 16 years and 72,000 sales are out the window, as of January 1. For the last year, Adobe has gotten to be more important, while SS less and less.
For the last 6 months, sales at Adobe continue to rise while at SS continue to shrink. The agency that used to command 60% of my income, is barely clinging to 30% while I have done nothing different.
I stopped uploading to IS, but I never thought it would happen here.
While putting everyone on an even playing field, you put yourself there also. I have been thinking about changing my whole strategy in photography since the first of the year and I think Shutterstock just kicked it off for me.
The low earners may be cheering until they realize it is the large libraries that attract the buyers. And they just gave us no reason to continue here.
Beyond stupid.

Steady decline since 2015, while my totals continue to rise. But I spend absolutely no time on their uploads, so no reason to stop.
