I'm noticing video review times have improved. I'm only submitting a couple of videos at a time as I don't create as much content for stock but its good to see reviews being done within good time, sometimes within hours of submitting.

Cobalt, You should apply for CEO of Adobe Inc as they are now listening to, and taking action with, your suggestions. This from a contributor post on the FB AS Contributors page....

Ut said he put the injured children in his van and drove them for 30 minutes to a nearby hospital. When I went back to my office, the (dark room technician) and everyone who saw the picture told me right away it was very powerful, and that the photo would win a Pulitzer, he added. What the? LOL so your countryside and kids are getting bombed with napalm and talk in the lab is the photo will win a Pulitzer. SMH.

Earnings down 33.6% on April 2024 but that month was and still is a record. $381.57 is the headline figure / $378.2813 contributors net payment this month with a RPD of 45 cents ($0.45) for photos and RPD of $4.34 for video. Best month so far this year.

I also think the creator community is starting to switch agencies already. Why buy from a stock site that treats the creator community badly?
It's a bit early for me to tell (looking at my own results) but customers also might be returning to Shutterstock with Adobe Stock beginning to see some declining trends. I also see Shutterstock's share price has recovered some ground too.

Bro,
I just created an excel line graph that represents every month since I started on Pond5 in Dec 2019. The X-axis is the month and the y-axis is the dollar amount. Hope this helps.

A bit better this week than the past two weeks where I didn't make $100. Two things more noteworthy is I just received $20.78 on a photo which was a surprise as most don't even make $1, and the other is the low rank / position. My number of weekly sales is pretty typical so not too bad yet position is low. This would suggest everyone is doing pretty well with their volume of sales?

Resurrecting this old thread which I thought was assigned to the dustbin of history. Now if Shutterstock could return to these sales then we'd be having a much different conversation about them, and they'd likely be seeing much better results on their stock price. I haven't had a sale like this since 2023. Aerial drone video...

In terms of microstock earnings my results for April 2025 are the worst since March 2023. So I feel its just in time that Ive achieved monetizing something other than microstock with my YouTube channel getting monetized on 14 April 2025. Its just a drone channel capturing aerial views of primarily local major construction projects and road works. Funny these seem to be most popular drone videos on YouTube and watched typically by people who likely have no interest at all in drones. But it brings in the views. I dont know exactly what my final earnings for April will be on YouTube as I hear that what ends up in AdSense can be different and sometimes lower or higher than what is displayed in YouTube Analytics. But currently the estimated revenue on YouTube is $130.14 USD which started accruing on 14 April. By comparison on Shutterstock I earned $118.06 for the month of April and a dismal $16.54 on Pond5. Both ports have over 3000 videos and both SS and P5 use to sell videos quite well. Anyway I started the YouTube channel in June 2021 and had 26 videos published along with 354 subscribers at the time I went back to publish a new video in January 2025. I had only posted two videos on the channel in the past two years prior - one video on 1 January 2024 and one video on 3 January 2023. So it had been effectively inactive over those two years with little views or watch hours. Figured that during the slow period in Dec / Jan on microstock I would publish a fresh video and see how it goes. So did a drone shoot of the Western Sydney International Airport construction site (due to open late 2026) and to my surprise it got over 40,000 views. Did another video of the associated road works then another of the Airport and it achieved over 67,000 views (its now at 70,000 views). These two are the highest viewing videos to date. I just about reached my 4000 hours of public watch time from these videos alone so figured it would be a wasted opportunity to let this pass me by. Accordingly I continued publishing videos until I reached my 1000 subscribers which I achieved in April. Applied for the YouTube Partner Program and was accepted. All up I had published an additional 16 videos from 2 January 2025 to reach 4000 public watch hours and 1000 subscribers (the requirements for joining the YouTube Partner Program and monetization via AdSense). Having said all this theres some things I dont like about YouTube and other things I do like. But at this stage its what I do like that overrides what I dont like especially with microstock in the state that it is now. I dont like that most videos published on YouTube see a huge drop off of views quickly after being published, usually within a few days. Then its like Shutterstock subs from there. Im speaking about my contents in particular because what I create probably has much less shelf-life than channels that publish more evergreen content. So it does feel like more work to keep seeing results on YouTube compared to microstock. With microstock, you upload your contents, set and forget, and even if youre not active for weeks or months, you can still make good money. With YouTube, the fall off in revenue happens much quicker (though as I said thats with my contents). Having said that, with Microstock now I can spend all year uploading over 1000 videos and my earnings continue to decline so the points I raise here about what I dont like with YouTube seems not so bad given my recent past year or so of microstock experience. I guess another concern is what happens when the major construction projects that serve as popular subjects for drone videos today are completed. Can only hope other construction projects will start and then these will be new popular videos to shoot. This also takes into account proximity as theres no use travelling at distance if you cant readily return to those locations to film updates on those projects. The furthest I am travelling now is a 2 to 2.5 hour drive to major road upgrades up near Newcastle which attract quite a good audience and views. I do know another local drone channel here in Sydney with over 10,000 subscribers who does travel much further so I suppose it is worth it when you have built a bigger subscriber following. Anyway what I do like about publishing on YouTube as a monetized channel is a sense of confidence. Theres a lot more money behind Google than there is any microstock agency. And YouTube pays pretty well, with 55% cost per mille (CPM) paid to creators. That payment to creators is known as revenue per mille (RPM) which is how much the creator earns per 1000 valid views. YouTube also provides creators with some pretty decent analytics. The other thing I like about YouTube is that as soon as you hit publish on your video it goes live. Theres no waiting for reviews, getting rejections or waiting for sales. So you can know your video is making money right at the outset. I also like the feeling of being much more in control. The more you publish the more you will almost certainly earn. Unlike microstock, at least for me, now its like the more I upload the less I earn. Looking forward I will continue to focus more on YouTube than microstock, at least for the time being. I repurpose what I shoot for YouTube and upload a few of those to the stock sites but thats about it. I just think at this time in the current environment its important now we diversify income streams where we can. If something improves in microstock I will shift my focus accordingly. At the very least it has given me opportunities with developing new skills, learning new and different ways of monetizing content and providing an alternative additional platform for generating income online. Quality contributors are just going to give up. Not because they don't have a great work ethic or high quality work but because agencies are treating contributors poorly. There's just no incentive to continue with the nonsense low commissions and constant roadblocks and jumping through hoops. I've seen contributors with large quality ports on Pond5 remove their contents completely.

I get that happening to place names. Need to remove them and write them manually and put back in keywords and should be accepted. I had wondered if uppercase letters are problematic but either way this is a workaround that should work for you as well.

I will also spend Easter Sunday working and the future of this work for me with Adobe Stock will depend a lot on what happens in the next 2 months at most, for some reasons that I won't write here.
You been saying this for quite some time now. I refer to your post below from July 27, 2024, in particular the bold sentence, and the quote below that one on July 29, 2024. So did you achieve your 80% growth in sales numbers at the end of 2024? If not, have you revised your forecasts and expectations since then? Link to below quote at https://www.microstockgroup.com/fotolia-com/adobe-quarters-and-years/msg605199/#msg605199 I did some calculations, and came to some conclusions.
I calculated the number of sales, because in my opinion it is the most important data,of course the earnings are what count in the end,but in the microstock the earnings can vary depending on the licenses sold,so the only thing that in my opinion can give a solid data is the sales number, this number must absolutely increase year after year if I work actively.
here is the percentage increase of the number of the sales in my first 2 quarters between 2023 and 2024:
1Q +36,2% 2Q +18,8%
I wanted to have an even broader vision, and I calculated the percentage of annual growth, even if I had always calculated the differences between years,I had never calculated the percentages in detail.
here are the growth percentages in the number of sales since 2019:
2019-2020 +60,9% 2020-2021 +62,12% 2021-2022 +22,8% 2022-2023 +110,6% 2023-2024 +27,5% (half-year)
so considering the situation in general,I think Adobe Stock can be a gold mine if you have time on your side, because I believe that we also need to make a projection into the future and see if we will then have time to enjoy the fruits of this work.
then in the end it's all subjective,it depends on what you're looking for in the microstock,I'm looking for a solid income, certainly not to become rich, but to earn enough.
so as i said,in my opinion,Adobe Stock can be a gold mine if you start at 30 years or maximum 40 years, because you still have more time, over 40 years instead,it depends on what you are able to produce, and in what quantity, because the time left to enjoy the fruits of labor is less, you simply have less time,it's not negativity,it's simply a fact, reality.
so in conclusion,as far as I'm concerned,if I can have an annual growth in number of sales of at least 80% every year for the next 4 years,in 4 years I can start to have a good income from Adobe Stock,if instead the this year's growth percentage or some of the next 4 years will be less than 80% I don't think I can continue, not actively, maybe some uploads if I feel like it a couple of times a year.
so for the moment until the end of this year I will continue consistently, and then at the end of the year I will evaluate,if I can achieve at least 80% growth in sales numbers,I will continue next year too.

In the past we had folks claiming 100% gains but they went from like $20 USD per month to $40 USD. I am assuming you make over $2,000 USD per month thus you're doing a great job. If you make more than $5,000 a month than I am inspired by your work and results!
i am afraid that you assume wrong!
If I earn 2,000 USD a month I wouldn't have any problem!
that's why I will need to earn at least 80% more every year for the next 4 years.
if instead I earn 40% more every year,it will still take 8 years before I have a decent income from Adobe, and with a growth of only 20% per year it will take 16 years!
hence my considerations, this is why I absolutely must proceed with a growth of at least 80% more every year at least for the next 4 years, then this percentage can also decrease, once I already have a good income every year,I can have a growth of even 20% per year is fine.

This is a better week in terms of earnings / rpd but just want to make the point that our influence to impact sales volumes and the commissions on individual downloads has limitations. Sure the more work, effort and quality production a contributor puts in will invariably result in improved performance and sales. But its not always going to translate in direct cause and effect. If I had said this last week the typical response would be well your contents must lack quality, you haven't been uploading, you fail to produce good useful files, you don't work hard enough and clearly have no persistence blah blah blah. So while experiencing good weeks can have some beat their hairy chest and sound the Tarzan call, there always comes a time when downloads will slow and rpd will fall and reality hits. Sorry but just had to say this.

today only 23 dl so far, but overall my rank improved a bit
very depressed with the latest declines. it feels like anything that will make money is kicked out and boring images with low sales value is getting in.
I have no control over my port, it is so depressing.
I thought your results here are quite good but is this slow for you at this time of year / compared to last year?

They can find the time and resources to remove files but no time and resources to review submitted ones.
All these agencies are gonna end up with not only fewer but total crap submissions very soon with all experienced contributors calling it a day on this nonsense. I'm already seeing pro contributors on Pond5 packing up and removing their entire ports.

I've noticed one file was removed yesterday and another today from my Adobe port. That's only 2 files for now but how far and deep is this purge going to?
Yeh I read the email several week ago and so this should not be too much a surprise but personally I'm tired of the way all agencies are treating contributors now. Your mileage may vary but I'm no longer pursuing stock with anywhere near the dedication I use to.
