Blogging on DT seems like a waste of time to me. If blogging is what it takes to sell an image at DT, then I'm out.
Agree. If you have the skill and interest to blog, makes more sense to start your own blog and direct readers to your own site or whichever site you make the most money

I don't know how this turned into a conversation about political correctness, killing people, international politics, etc. This is a picture you could show to a small child. Nothing offensive at all. Obviously some numb nuts hit the wrong rejection button.

Canstock is a good place to get images pretty cheap. I have never yet met anyone who can't afford their prices, including students, church bulletins, and little old ladies who make collages.

Don't use Skrill myself, but can't they tell you whether the email is legit if you email them? Do they have a method for reporting suspected phishing attempts? Most financial type organisations seem to.
You would think. If they ever respond to my email from days ago, I'll let you know. Mostly I was just wondering if other Sktill users got the same email. So far apparently not. That makes it look even less legit, since I guess a new policy like this would apply to everyone.

Come on. Istock has been 10x as bad for 10x as long and is still dragging along. SS won't be disappearing anytime soon.
They just need to get things fixed. Hopefully the real competition from Adobe will get them to up their game.
Sales were better in August and ELs have been picking up again.
Istock is a perfect example of how bad things can get. Only reason they are still limping along at all is because they have Getty behind them. Ironic that Getty destroyed them but is now (barely) propping them up. Besides, with the continued steps of Getty to fully integrate Istock into the Borg , IS may cease to be a named separate entity within months. Aren't we still waiting for their annual. EFFyou announcement soon?

Five years from now.... it will be half a billion images or more...
If they don't get their IT straightened out they may not be here five years from now.

Nothing, they changed review notification to. Just new design. I love it!
I kind of hope something is up...I hope they get rid of the fotolia brand totally and just use the adobe brand.
That would be ok by me, but I only know how to check stats and request payouts from the FT site.. Does Adobe Stock even have a contributor dashboard.?
I just looked again yesterday and couldn't find one. I just did a search and found this:
https://stock.adobe.com/contributor
It says: "Step 1: Create an account. Submit content on Fotolia.com. And coming soon, submit directly on Adobe Stock or through Lightroom CC and Bridge CC." The "and coming soon" sounds promising. Hopefully they will move our existing Fotolia accounts over, and we don't have to create a new one.
Interesting. Maybe FT is being fazed out.. If they are preparing to intake content directly on Adobe they are also probably working on a dashboard. I just hope they dont close off access to the FT contributor site until the Adobe one is fully functional.

I got an email request from Skrill today for proof of where I live, like utility bill, or similar. It was adressed to me by name, which usually rules out phishing, but this is pretty fishy. Never got this kind of request from them or paypal before. Why do they need this info?
Also, even if it is legit, they won't accept screenshots or printouts. Do they expect me to get on a plane and hand deliver my personal info, F.F.S.??!
Just received this from Pixta: In response to the announcement from Skrill which says Skrill would terminate service in Japan, we are afraid that we would terminate the payment via Skrill in this month.
So this email might be Skrill policy change related.
Thanks for the reply. I live in North America so this should not affect me at all. And why am I apparently the only one AFAIK to get this email? Until they start demanding proof of address from everyone and prove that this is legit I'm gonna hold off.

I haven't had one of those. Did you recheck the form on their site? If it is all correct, you could try refilling it out again and resubmit.

Hi everyone, I started uploading to Alamy a couple of months ago. I have had 6 sales with 155 mages. Their keywording is a real pain or else I would have more up...
I have opted OUT of the "additional revenue options" - Distribution, Novel Use, UK Newspaper Scheme
My question is, is it worth it to be opted in? Is there some scary fine print I don't know about? FYI, I have opted out of SS extended licenses because I refuse to earn $12 or less for an EL.
Any suggestions? Do you earn pennies for opting in?
I'm opted in and half or more of my monthly Alamy sales are from distributors and other misc. Revenue sources. They are smaller $ amounts and I get a smaller % (30 vs. 50). Doesn't bother me cuz most of my Alamy port is also on the micros, but if you have a separate macro port on Alamy you might not want to get the micro type earnings from the addirional revenue options.

Its because the Chinese have found out how to make 3 D women out of pictures by rendering them through a computer program. They render the pictures and then print it onto a rubber basis, and voila, you have a nice little wife or girlfriend. Easy enough. The program will soon be available outside of China, and thus the demand for images of other than asian types of women will grow.
gosh, perverts !!! when you think of it, it is said that there are more single women in China due to the demographics, and most of them are holding good jobs . the market is also focusing on these 30 somethings because they have spending power. yet, the men are so frustrated??? i guess it is probably that like India, most men are either too lazy to work, or are good for nothing, thus the case of sexual harassment is high.
and now, here comes the rubber mate for the w@nkers !!!LOL
Or possibly because of China's one child policy parents there, as in India, selected to have male babies, and twenty or so years later there are not enough young females so the horny millenial males in these countries concoct artificial female sex toys? Don't go messing with Mother Nature, man. You get some pretty messed up unintended consequences!

FT/Adobe has soared past Istock/Getty this year. They have gone from 1/4 SS to almost 3/4 SS.
And to anyone complaining about playing games with the search when you hit emerald, if that was ever true, it isn't anymore, at least I'm not seeing it as emerald. Adobe doesn't seem to be rigging the system like FT used to.
could it be due to the latest f***ups with our portfolios vanishing that made clients of ss look to fotolia??? istock-ers did not report a surge of sales during that period so it can only have gone to fotolia. .. i think. I think if they accepted editorial, it would greatly draw new customers and drive sales
This makes a lot of sense. I don't think anyone is going from SS to IS, but Adobe is a very easy and appealing way for customers to add photos to their projects.

What the *bleep* happened?! My sales tanked in August after all these *wonderful* changes...earned less than 1/6th of my normal average. I haven't had a month that bad since October 2006 at 123RF!!! Please don't tell me 123RF pulled a Fotolia move and relegated my portfolio (and others) to the bottom of the heap where I'll never see sales again.
Yes, sales crashed for me too. Hope 123 isnt following the examples of the other sites that have contributors levels, and moving high level ports to the back of the search. Short term way to boost company earnings, but every site that did it eventually lost customers and sales.

Today is monday and my sales at FT are below sunday sales. Do u have normal sales today at FT?
Tnx for answer, anybody ...
It's Labor Day, a holiday in the US. We will all see slow sales to the extent we have US sales.
Thank you for clarification. Btw my SS sales are OK. Wish u best september!
Glad your getting good sales on SS! Wish I could say the same, but about 70% of my sales come from the US. Wishing you a good Sept too! Hopefully all of us will see a sales upswing this month!

I was able to login to SignElements, but they are still not showing August earnings, so by can't request payout.

I just know nobody can choose to have glitches....it just happens. Just like at my workplace. Also you can not keep a system forever and not try to improve just to avoid problems. Its normal to have problems especially large such a large agency ss is. If we would had control over glitches believe me nobody would have. Nobody enjoys it. IT world is not that simple.
Remarkable complacency yes of course things go wrong from time to time but most industries have controls in place to minimise it. When a plane crashes I dont expect an organisation to say "oh well these glitches happen every now and then"
Exactly. THey managed to keep the site running smooth AND update it for something like 10 years and now all of a sudden they can't get anything right. It's pretty obvious resources are being siphoned away from IT. Suddenly changes go live without adequate BETA testing. Same thing happened on other sites when they got greedy.

When I joined this group SS was always being praised for their consistency and reliability, more than any other site. Boy, how things have changed. Why didn't they learn from the mistakes of other sites that lost customers by having site glitches and other IT problems.
Maybe they should direct more resources to site reliability and away from fattening their library exponentially with mediocre and redundant work.
