Yes I totaly agree with Nazdravie as well. It makes sense to promote good portfolios. If someone has a few good images and the rest average and some one else has an excellent portfolio it's good business to draw attention to the good one because if the buyer has a look at the portfolio you want them to see the one with lots of great images to get a much better impression of the site.

They're obssesive about noise so make sure your images aren't noisy. Upload a few at a time and wait until they are reviewed before unloading next batch. New uploads bring more attention to your portfolio so you do better if you are constantly uploading rather than putting your whole portfolio up at the beginning. BTW congratulations on getting in on your first try. Reading the forums it seems that most people don't.

Maybe they're at the top because the buyers prefer them and buy them more than other similar images. Buyers also often go straight to the top sellers portfolios when searching for an image which would give them more downloads and better results in the searches.

They've just done some sort of update and it seems to have left all sorts of problems.

I'm pretty sure that Achilles said that it was one of the factors at one time on the DT forums. I have a Dl/image ratio of just over 9 and my images do very well in the searches. I think that it would make sense on DT to give higher level images a better place in the search as they make more money from them but I don't know if they do or not. Sorry this post was about SS and it's getting sidetracked. On dreamstime I believe that the dls/image ratio is one of the factors in their popular search which makes sense to draw attention to portfolios that are generally of high quality.
DL/image is definitely NOT something that is used in the Relevancy (aka Best Match) sort order. My current DL/image is at a little over 7. Last month it was even higher - it was around 8. It dropped because I started uploading new images in the last month to try and counter the free-fall that my sales have had.
My sales used to be quite good on DT, but since the beginning of the year they have been on a death spiral. I barely make anything at all on DT anymore.

What would they get out of it? It makes sense for them to favour the best possible images regardless of who took it or if there is any favouring to give an extra push to people that have a great portfolio. On dreamstime I believe that the dls/image ratio is one of the factors in their popular search which makes sense to draw attention to portfolios that are generally of high quality.

What is everyone's prediction? If the price of a photo increases when it reaches the next selling level, will it have a negative effect at all on proven photos that have earned sales? Will new images sell better? Or are buyers willing to pay the small price difference for the right photo?
I have quite a few higher level images at Dt and I find that these consistenlty outsell my lower level images so buyers don't mind paying the difference.

I've been uploading a couple at a time for the last couple of hours and then going in and finishing them off without any errors at all , but yesterday 2 batches that I uploaded disappeared and I had to re-upload them.

I've seen a lot of really bad spamming go unpunished but I wouldn't call your keywords spamming at all.

I can make it go clockwise, anti-clockwise or swing from left to right and back again. I takes me quite a bit of concentration to make it happens. Try looking to your right to the edge of the page and look at the image out of the corner of your left eye and then the opposite with the other eye and she should change directions. Or look at the feet and imagine that they are going in the other direction and then they should suddenly change.

Yes me too, although I was one of the lucky ones that did better after V2 than before so never did see a decrease in downloads. Maybe because I always put my 7 most relevant keywords first. Sales at FT are going well for me, too. I'm already at $100+ this month - it usually takes about three weeks to reach this point.

I'm not exclusive but I agree with Sean. I have never had that feeling from the exclusive members and have always found them willing to help anyone. Most of my CN members are exclusive and almost everyone of them asked me to be in their CN. This feeling of 'them and us' I think is just in peoples heads.

91.7 , it's sold 450 times since the beginning of June and accounted for one in seven of my sales last month. I once had one at 124 but it got killed by a best match change just after it reached blue flame and now sell a few times a week.
