Here are my figures, compared to August 2007
SS 35%, -1% DT 22%, +38% BME IS 18%, +20% FT 8%, +2% StockXpert 5%, -20% BS 4%, -15% 123 4%, +22% SV 2%, no sales in Aug 2007 Scan 2%, +/-0% Cre 1%, -22%
Total growth: 6% compared to August 2007 Compared to July 2008, I'm down 13%
Very bad month for me this, and only IS and DT are performing well, DT even with a BME. With all the turbulence around StockXpert lately, I will follow the development there very closely. I'm clearly losing there. SS is performing badly as well, but that was expected. They have been losing almost every month this year for me compared to the rest.

This must be the coolest DSLR ever. I think I want one

I'm not sure if they are up and coming or down and going, but I wonder if anybody are selling there. I registered there a while ago, but haven't uploaded anything yet.

The Alexa numbers look flaky. I trust what I am seeing with Compete.
I trust what I'm seeing in my bank account

I would imagine that the photos.com domain would be able to get them lots of new customers without doing much marketing at all. And now that they don't offer a crappy product like before, maybe more of those customers will actually sign up with them. Whether that is good for us or not... I'll let you decide.
For people who don't have a clue about where to buy photos, photos.com is probably easier to find than StockXpert or other agencies, but I don't think I will base my income on people who don't have a clue. They may get some sales for free this way, but so many microstock and stock agencies are already household names within most relevant customer groups. An easy to remember domain name doesn't help much without proper marketing and a proper content. Since photos.com has existed for a while with lousy content, it'll take a lot of advertising to tell people that it has changed, and why spend all the money doing that, when they could just lead people to StockXpert instead?

Maybe you should add the Fuji S1, S2, S3 and S5. They are really Nikons, but with a different sensor.
When's a Nikon not a Nikon?
Well... a Nikon is a Nikon with a Sony sensor (mostly). A Fuji is a Nikon with a Fuji sensor (and a different battery ). I'm getting my S5 next week. Apart from the name and the lack of a red triangle, it looks exactly like a D200

You'd just be guessing. You never know when someone will choose your image for current or later use. The longer your image can be searched for the more downloads you'll get.
I agree. Tactics are futile in this business. Speed, volume and quality are all that matters.

Totally generic. Could be a logo for anything. Wonder why they don't change their name to "Blip" or something. That would blend in nicely with the new logo, and they could add new business, like selling electronic bottle openers on ebay for $9.99 a piece. Or whatever...
LOL! Blipstock
Oh bugger... should have registered that before anybody else noticed. I would obviously have made a fortune.... no make that two fortunes

At last, I've had my first two ppd dl's at SS as well at 2.7 each. They really saved my day, and it will absolutely help keep SS on top, which hasn't been as obvious as it used to be the last 6 months. This seems to be all good to me. It will be interesting to see how it develops long-term. I'm all hopes

I'm also beginning to wonder if the new smaller subscriptions are going to have a negative impact on overall sales as buyers wait to purchase images.
Of course they are. It will attract smaller buyers who used to buy individual photos to buy subs, leaving us with less pay per photo, but the agencies, on this case SS, with more.

Either their sales are falling
possibly. there are much more photo contributors than before. same size of cake, less share
Problem is, the other agencies are increasing, and SS' share is sinking dramatically.

The first year, SS will always grow as long as you upload regularly, but this also depends on what kind of portfolio you have. For me, SS is sinking during the summer, while the others are growing.

I must be doing something wrong. Still no ppd at SS, and 8 days into August, my earnings there are behind those at DT. The latter is performing like never before, with no subs whatsoever, but still it looks a bit weird

I've been uploading 3-5 days per week the last 2-3 months. Still, my sales are dropping at SS compared to almost all other agencies. Either their sales are falling, or they've done something with their search engine that disfavors my images.

Congrats Petr. Always nice when it turns out well in the end. Your portfolio is great btw.

I understand SS's concern, but I think they should have disabled the ONE image until the OP had a chance to answer the accusation. This really seems unfair.
That would be the obvious thing to do. The way they act, they punish the owner of the portfolio before they have all relevant documentation about the case. It's rather scary actually. They seem to be completely unpredictable.

I have a dramatic slump at SS these days. First week of August, and SS is in second place behind DT. That's the first time any other agency has even been close to SS earnings for a whole week (except ELs), but if the trend continues, I will consider stop uploading to SS.
The pricing at DT and IS shows that it's possible to sell microstock images for more, and although SS has just implemented their On Demand system, the maximum earnings per DL there is well below that of the other two.

Your portfolio is absolutely great. Unless you stole all of it and murdered the original artist, what SS has done is totally unforgivable. Unfortunately, this is not the first time we see this kind of action from them, and for some reason, their communication with the contributor is anything from minimal to non-existing before it happens.
I'll stick my nose out and chime in on you thread at SS.

August started with a weekend, so it should start slowly this year. For me, it's been ok, except SS, which is a disaster, but that seems to be the trend with them.
I agree that there's often a boost at the end of them month. The majority of my ELs also comes around the last ten days.

No problems her. Normal sales and very fast review times.
