Bigstock.com / Re: Biggest sale on BS
« on: February 14, 2019, 12:34 »
Since February 1st, my sales are 27c instead of 25c, not complaining though.
Still can not figure which is worse BS or DP?
DP is horrible. Good thing is it's very easy to upload and it has a nice interface. BS seems outdated

General Stock Discussion / Re: 500px Hacked
« on: February 14, 2019, 10:23 »
Got this email from 500px today

"Our engineering team recently learned of a potential security issue affecting your 500px user account. We are taking this issue extremely seriously and have taken immediate action to address the situation and ensure the protection of our users data. Although there is no indication of unauthorized access to your account, as a precautionary measure, we require you to reset your 500px account password."

So if you have 500px account and are unsure whether the email is genuine it should be but if you try to log in to your account it will ask you to reset your password.

I did and was happy to delete my account too having left it open  (with no photos)  after the royalty cut and deal with Getty/VCG :D
Same email. And yesterday was hacked EyeEm as well

Hello! Currently BS has my lowest RPD. I have sold mostly 0.25 subs, and only ONE time, a picture for 3. Anyone sells there with a better RPD? Is there something else above 0.25-0.5 in Bigstock? I like the agencty but the cents are misery

Why would you expect any more when Shutterstock views it as their bargain basement outlet?
Is that so? So it means no one has rpd over 0.4?

« on: February 13, 2019, 20:12 »
I only heard about Foap this week. My only doubt is about the personal information thay ask you to become "verified". They ask you to grant acces to your paypal account and have all kind of personal data taken from there, such as address, birthday and others...it never occured to me that any other agency ever asked me more than my paypal mail for paying me. What do you think about this? I'd like to give them a chance but this is really bugging me

Asking for access to your paypal account should be sending major red flags up! Are people really that desperate to sell images? OMG
That is true

Congrats to you all. You are inspiring my biggest sale was in SS (30 usd)

Mat please pay attention to the comments in this thread.

Also, it's a pain in the ass that you need to scroll down (for example until the keywords in the position 30+) to "up" some "relevant" keywords and it makes you go all the way up!!! and you have to scroll down again to "up" another keyword, and so on. I don't know if you understand what I said, but the pain is real

+1, we don't need a pop-up box that comes up when we click on edit keywords, a simple text box (like the one for title) is enough.

This exists. Click the "paste keywords" link and you will be able to add keywords in one large box.

-Mat
I like the way that I can up and down the keywords in the "extended" list but the problem is that if I "up" a keyword at the bottom the interface makes you go all the way up and you have to scroll down again to up another keyword.

I usually paste my keywords and then "up" the relevants but this problem happens... I don't know if you understand me

General Stock Discussion / Re: adobestock keywords?
« on: February 12, 2019, 11:44 »
It would be better if you make choose 7 most-relevant words instead of actually organizing the order. It's kind of tedious to be honest. And since we don't know stats like which keyword people used to find the photo they finally bought, we don't know if the order is okay or what

General Stock Discussion / Re: Copyspace or Copy space?
« on: February 11, 2019, 16:09 »
Forget it.  Customers do not appear to search using copyspace words.

For my first few years at microstock (exclusive at iStock) I always included copyspace, copy, space, copy-space etc as I believed these words were important.

Then in October 2012 or thereabouts iStock changed their search algorithm,  Suddenly all my photos with copyspace words disappeared from searches that included those words.  I wrote to istock about this and they replied to say that the new search placed priority on the top most popular words for each file, and that copy, space etc never came into the top seven (or rarely).  I asked them again and they replied again to say that according to their records there is absolutely no evidence that customers search using the copyspace words.

When I became non-exclusive after a while I could see at Shutterstock, 123RF etc the most popular words used for searches.  At SS using the 'most popular' listing not one of my thousands of files show copy, space or any derivative in the top three keywords.  My keyword cloud at 123RF has never included those words (I believe they show the top fifty or so.

Nowadays I don't include those words in any of my files.

Interesting. But I recently read an article in 500px where they firmly encouraged to include that keyword...

You asked, because you don't know. We answered and now you want to argue? Use it if you want don't if you don't.
Lmao chill. I said it was interesting and thank you all for the posts. I said the thing they published in 500px to show that  maybe they are wrong and nobody uses that keyword anymore

My experiment continues. It seems I need to set up some kind of magic beans wallet...can anyone give a non technical steer on this? If its going to cost be anything I'm out.

"WMK is an ERC20 token, so any wallet that supports this standard protocol will automatically support WMK.
A popular for storing your tokens is  MyEtherWallet but we recommend doing some additional research to decide whats right for you."

Hope its simpler for buyers or its going sink.

I can't find any metrics on the site either.
There is no metrics.
Opening a ERC20 token wallet is free.
I use MetaMask for that purpose.

Hello! I want to revive this topic. Current people, how do you use it?

298
For me it's better SS because I sell mostly editorial I wish AS allow that

Agreed, hopefully they will soon!
I know they are going to allow newsworthy pictures soon(?) but I'm talking more about pictures without releases or with visible trademarks brands and that... (not necessarily newsworthy or photojournalism)

299
Matt, any plans on contributor app or a better site on phone browsers?
