Most of my images on pinterest are not watermarked but lifted from elsewhere.
IF I was putting images on pinterest I would create a special watermark I think to say it could be used there. If we put normally watermarked images up I feel we are saying, yes you can use if it has a watermark on it. Do people go back to the source (and see they have to pay) or just say, I like that I will copy it without licencing which in every other instance we are saying is not permissible

Every photo you pin on pintrest from your symbio site, provides a backlink to your stock photo site. Pintrest has lots of designers on there, so if you dont think this has any value, dont do it.
I have added a "block pinterest" plugin I spend time getting my images removed from Pinterest rather than adding them We use pinterest, twitter facebook for another business I run, I find people copy the pictures but do not purchase the product and let my partner deal with that side of things as I get too irritated by it and she has banned me from the site I am cynical about these social media - I tried FB some time ago for my photo business, got lots of "friends" but no business. I am open to being proved wrong and will probably try again but I find them difficult to find a use for. I did start watching that Social Media Bootcamp but found it boring (a bit me me me) and switched to the food photography one. I don't want to argue about it, just be convinced it is worth doing

Does it generate customers or is it a link to other stock submitters?
My experiences of FB and Twitter so far is that they are primarily inane and time wasters - am I wrong?

Leo, I think you should have left your post then locked the thread and let it drop down the list.

I had sites that have been gone for years that still showed up in searches

If you did set up your own site and then queried things in detail - because you had found out for yourself exactly what happens I feel your criticism would have a lot more weight. At the moment I feel your negative concerns are too abstract. Anyone who is code proficient can check it out and see exactly what has been done, most of us are not capable of doing this but if we were concerned we could pay someone else to do it for us as it would be difficult to hide something from anyone who knew what they were looking at/for
So do I think Symbiostock is a Con? No!

Hi Daphne and Stuart Welcome to Symbiostock - and thank you for the credit !

Normally if you look at www.sitename/image-categories/ all the image categories would show up but on your site it is a page not found, maybe because you are setting them out differently to everyone else? Create a new category if it is not there called Symbiostock Featured Images and add 6 images to it (or 12) then add the widget to your page using the CTA template

Unless you have deleted it it will be in the list of categories that you can assign images to when you are editing them to do titles , descriptions SEO, exclusive/non exclusive etc

Featured images - assign images to Symbiostock Featured Images category that is generated with the theme, then use the featured images widget to put them where you want

Am I the only one who leaves the comment box switched on for images? When looking around other people's sites I would quite often like to leave a comment on a picture but there is never an option, I thought they helped with seo?

You can give discounts now - then just add a text box saying what you are offering and how long for?
Edit - text box is in the widget area

Coupon code - why not add this to your "thank you or purchasing email" then refund them if they use it. On my other site we use these a lot, not automated but in wit their parcel and not once have they been used, even with repeat purchases

That is probably why I like it:) I have used this one for years as it makes Kerioak look "pretty" especially when I used to print pedigrees

somewhat off topic - but I love that font you used

If they had an o2.pl I automatically deleted, as I did random strings of letters and numbers in name and email address, basically everyone who was not a symbiostock member or who did not make a purchase within 24 hours.
With wordfence you can see the path they took once registered, that will also give a clue

I do not have anything at all where you are showing the line in your demo image but changed the other line using the information above so it reads like this http://stockimages.kerioak.com/image/

That is looking really good - I especially like the square pictures in the box that expand as you put the mouse over them, they look good in the boxes, very neat

They are in Europe - we have to have the cookie acceptance especially if selling something, so it needs to be visible

I'll definitely take my "don't steal" message out of the one photo caption and not plug it in on any more of those. But... would you get rid of it on the home page too?
And yes, maybe dumping the "royalty free" message everywhere would be good. ( ) I do think people confuse "royalty free" with "FREE!!!" The pros know what RF means, but others don't... and it might encourage people to steal.
I'd love to hear what others think of that.
Yes, I would take it off the home page as well, you have copyright notices over all your photos and at the bottom of every web page so even I (who can get very protective of my images) do not really think it is necessary. I also dropped the Royalty free wording from everywhere your watermark - if you often have a focal point in the centre of your image it might be an idea to slightly offset it ?

Just a side note, you really need to get rid (or change the appearance) of that cookie banner on top. It hurts the design and functionality and it's hard to recognize since it has the same color as the browser bar.
It goes as soon as you click on it to agree to cookies
