But I didn't buy an Alamy app before - it was there already within Microstockr showing my balance. Now, however, it appears that I need to buy the add-on. Is that right?

Hi Paul,

I've just done the reinstall. Annoyingly I had to re-input all my login details for each site and I also noticed that Alamy balance doesn't show - instead there is a shopping cart to buy an add-on. Has Alamy become a pay site since the last upgrade of Microstockr?

Just downloaded the new version of Microstockr for iphone 3 from the app store and the app crashes on opening.... Totally unable at the moment.

Veer / Re: The Future of Veer

I agree about the strange rejections. They recently rejected a small series of images that have gone on to be stellar best sellers everywhere else. I emailed to query their rejection and they told me they were now aiming for a more curated look to the collection though they didn't seem able to tell me what the curators were actually looking for. A curated collection is fine - rejecting obviously saleable microstock images, though, is a strange decision for a microstock site!

I have seen this question Twice...but still no answer.....

Hi Yuri,
I asked a question a while back in this thread but I think it got swallowed in a wave of vitriol. I wonder if you could tell us if you've been given any assurances that Istock will improve their inadequate it infrastructure? Their IT systems seem to be on the border of collapse, for example. This may well be due to the priorities of previous CEO's - but what does the future hold there? Anything you can share with us?

Well, I think if we don't get a reply after the fourth showing we can assume that Yuri has had no assurances from istock and that the site will soon fall apart at the seams...

Yuri, you most likely won't answer this the way we want you to, but I will ask anyway:

After the years (!) of iStock giving us proof of not being able to listen to (well established, professional) contributors AND constantly (to this day) having severe problems with their day to day business operations (site up-time, staff replacements, seemingly untested implementation of new features, inability to pay contributors, the list is endless, literally), what in heaven's name did Getty promise you to simply overlook all these previously mentioned facts?

Thanks for reading and even more thanks for a potential answer to that.

Now here is something that is interesting. I could really get in trouble here. I will kindly remind you that a certain CEO left the company about 2 years ago and most of the matters you are addressing dates back to then....

Yuri, have you been assured from the current general manager that there will be improvements at istock? In terms of site functionality, contributor relations, etc?

D-Day may not have brought iStock to its knees - but they don't have the same general manager working there any longer. Maybe a co-oincidence, maybe not.

Not sure I've seen Stocksy and 'gritty realism' in the same sentence before!?

...just got my first sale of the day at 2.30pm.

The website - front and back-end appear to be accessible here in the UK.
#312
I can log-in and see stats but there are no downloads today. Not one.
#313
been down here in the UK for at least half an hour.

My sales are notably down these last few days. I came here to find out what the reason might be. I hope that whatever it is - it reverts back pretty soon.

My sales there have been dreadful this month. I stopped uploading when they cut the royalties and introduced their RC system. I've no intention of restarting. I hope to see their stats on the right start sliding over the coming months...

PhotoDune / API key
April 08, 2013, 14:41
Am I really expected to type the entire API key into my FTP client in order to upload to Photodune? Filezilla won't accept a cut-and-paste into the password box. It would be virtually impossible for me to earn enough money from Photodune to pay for the time it would take me to type that ridiculous string of characters!

It would be interesting to hear from someone at 123rf. Perhaps they would like to tell us how they think things are going from their perspective - now that we are 2 months into the new regime.

My reply from DP:

"We are constantly searching for new ways to boost sales and increase your earnings.
Currently, we are testing our Partner program. These sales are shown at your account as Partner sales.
Since you are not willing to participate in Partner sales program, I've just disabled this option for you.

Should you have any further questions or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us."

I just got one of these too. Is it possible to opt out of EL on DP. I just had a look at their website but couldn't see an opt-out button...

$2.64 is really unacceptable for an EL.

PP sales are *still* coming through for me. A bumper crop for january. My iStock sales thus far in February, however, are absolutely pitiful.

Yep, looks like they're doing a second run through. I've had more royalties added for the earlier part of the month. Thank goodness.
