Can someone move Dreamstime down in the ranking on this site as it's misleading. They are abysmal. My balance looks the same from week to week.
They aren't doing a good job of that on their own? DT is double BS both are just dead, but look at the count how many keep selling on those. When DP and 123 are ahead that's a sure sign that the end is near.
Its " the end is nigh". Just saying mate!

Thank you for your comments, guys.
It's pointless to feel depressed for the rejection, especially when we do not even know the criteria to be accepted.

Exactly!! you win some you lose some and in the end it breaks even!!.....I think you want to have a look at an agency called "Trevillion"...its supposed to be the toughest one to get into of them all but your port is very special and they like that sort of content!

Ever since the merger with Adobe we are stuck with 0.33 and 0.99c, pushing subs etc, etc, instead of the good credit-sales we used to get. Give me back Oleg and the old Fotolia anytime!

^^ thats because your content is no way near micro-stock photography not commercial as such. Its a special portfolio very suitable for RM/RF and typical of what creative buyers are looking for! OTOH I know an extremely well known interior/architect photographer who is earning next to nothing.
I suppose in the end what it boils down to is horses for courses. Some years back I placed 1800 completely different images from micro-stock with one of the bigger, specialized Boutique agencies and every month it brings in way past a four figure amount. You can never tell can you!

"What I don't get is why everybody is so willing to be accepted by Stocksy..."
Most likely because Stocksy is the only agency that consistently announces their calls for artists here, leading to mass applications and then public complaints about their rejection of almost all of the very people they invite.
They dangle the carrot and snatch it away, publicly and repeatedly.
My complete sentence has a meaning. Just part of it doesn't, you shouldn't just quote part. Doesn't make sense what you answered, it wasn't what I asked.
I think I answered your question. Stocksy has set up a dangling carrot that they bring out on Microstock group every so often to tempt people. So people are drooling to get that carrot. They temporarily forget their concerns about series exclusivity for a chance to be one of the cool kids. It reminds me of fraternities and sororities in college. For what other college group would you endure physical punishment (hazing) in order to get in? None.
Alamy do the same, touting photographers in the hope of finding one in a thousand!. I doubt very much that any serious photographer would in front of a whole gallery like this want to flaunt their application let alone being rejected!! just weird!

I reached Emerald some time back and thats when overall takings went right down, same as many others. Punished for selling a lot!! I would definetely NOT increase pricing!! would probably make it even worse! Lisafx, a very prominent supplier gave up once she reached emerald so you can imagine what would happen if you on top of that raised prices??

Actually I don't understand their call for artists, why are they doing it, when 99.9% of the photographers are going to be rejected? I believe that their "call for artists" is made only for making the people believe that their content is something really extraordinary, giving them aura of being something special, or out of this world. I can not find out any other reason except spreading the story among photographers about their magic.
Because, if they need only like 10 photographers, they could have found them without any call for artists. They cold have simply sent them an email, without all this fuss. And this is absolutely not fair that people are left waiting 3 months without any answer.
... just like istock many years ago, but than IS was a big player! Can any stocksy contributor confirm that the earnings are near Shutterstock, AdobeStock or Pond5 ... or better?
Yes Fritz!! first intelligent question here! I am already under RM contract so I wouldnt be able to join! but its intresting to see that people are killing themselves to join an outfit and not even once bar you is anybody asking? " is is worth it"??...it reminds me of Lemmings throwing themselves off a cliff!...joking a bit of course but me personally would want to see a vast improvement of earnings over lets say microstock before I even contemplated on joining an RM/RF agency nowadays!...Stocksy is an OK agency but I would want to know earnings potentials for sure! I feel truly sorry for the ones rejected in spite of some good ports and after such a long wait!

Yes, it's easy to dream back to the good old days when there was no competition...
But when a portfolio, although good and of high quality, consists 90% of the same subject matter, what can one really expect?
I wouldnt say dreaming back?? why do you say that? its quite obvious isnt it that today is a lot harder then yesterday and there is no need to point that out! Seems to me you are more interested in private indviduals rather then adding to the conversation. Whats your port like? a "generalist" port I suspect? well that wont get you very far out in the real world of photography, outside stock-photography. In that gigantic world of commissioned, advertising and corporate work the only ports that count is the specialist portfolio 100% geared to what you do! may it be still-life, life-style, medicine, industry, portraits, fashion, glamour, etc, etc. If a client wanting to buy pictures for a travel catalogue it is of no use he invites photographers carrying studio-work, is it? if he invites photographers planning a aircraft shoot I bet he dont want to see a portfolio of Fashion/glamour?? and the very LAST thing a picture-buyer wants to see is an "everything but nothing " portfolio! Its horses for courses you see. You been long enough in this business now to have understood that!.. hehe! Oh well.... all the best to you!

"killed the goose that laid the golden egg". only today some 15 years after micro and with almost 1 billion files floating around the internet that saying dont apply, there are no golden eggs left! they were killed off some years back!...today its just a matter of riding along and hope for the best!...agencies with their constant slashing of prices, image-theft by millions, thousands of "budding" newbies joining every month have finally put a stop for our golden eggs!
I came from Stones and Image-Bank when Getty took over in 2004, seen the company go from excellent, fantastic! down to todays absolute rubbish! and this slope very much reflects todays micro-world, SS, IS FT, DT started years back and was terrific!! we all earnt a lot of money. Today??? well judge for yourselves?....

I think there is a huge misconception here of what spamming really is! now I personally know a whole string of editors, not crappy-reviewers but real editors with Getty, Blend, SPL, Offset, etc. The way they explain spamming in pictures ( not keywordings) is if they are more or less identicals!! now thats a vast difference from lets say X have got 100 pics of the same subject but not identicals. thats NOT spamming!...so 200 pics of a Hamburger but from different angles thats NOT classified by an editor as spamming..... An art-director in an ad-agency gives you a brief and he exoects you to return dozens of shots from underneath the subject, above from the sides and so on.
However the spamming of pics according to editors are not so bad much, much worse, 1000 times more damaging for a search-engine is the spamming of keywords, cloggs up the whole sort-order. Agencies dont ban you for similar not even identical pics but they will certainly throw you out for constant keyword spamming because thats damaging.

We have had this discussion before and nobody took any offence right, what happens is that, well remember the guy with thousands of images of weed, pot?? all the same but the camera was moved an inch or two. That happens a lot. Just the other week I saw about 20 pictures of a peeled orange and they were almost identical, then a peeled banana almost identical! Of course one could argue thats the fault of the reviewer for letting them all through but there you go. This happens a lot!
As I said in the post before yours, it is far fetched to assume that this type of cheating is specific to countries where $10/day means "a lot of money".
Why would you say that?
He said it because its true but no one will accept that.
Look at all the cheats that get found and they generally come from the usual suspects
This is ridiculous. No different than the famous "sh*thole countries" statement from a famous moron.
I can give you many examples of spamers with names like Jeremy Nathan, etc. Or maybe such anglo-saxon names are part of your "usual suspects" list? If so, I doubt that likes of Jeremy Nathan would consider $10/day "a lot of money"
sure there are spammers every where in the world but th bulk come from the sam country.,.russia and ukraine ahead. you can easily see it with search tab in ss.
If it it is true, what is the link between "$10/day is a lot of money" (aka poverty) and spamming?
It could well be the use non-latin alphabets, from what I know, or preference for vodka, or many other similar "reasons".
Vodka?? screw that! yaki! Prefer a single malt whiskey, something lik MacAlllens or Glenfiditch!!

since they killed best match i stop growing despite my last upload are much better than the photos i sell regularly. simply i sell photo who have good position in popular tabs. new photos sales , i mean last 3 4 months accounts for 1 2% of monthly earning. i'm still in line with last year march, but i cannot grow. nothing. with the crap of thousand files uploaded everyday, any mentally safe customer will browse through the new tab, to find a file interesting, and that matches the keyword searched, in the middle of a sea of snapshots.
for example isotck is constantly growing, despite the 0,15 commission, it grows sale and most of all it sells mostly new files. if i search for statistic of view most of files uploaded in the last months are viewed and bought. adobe is in the middle.
ss messed everything.
THhey have almost killed off single-sales and OD's! they go elsewhere and I think you can guess where??
yes what surprise me is the totally lack of el and big sale since january....i still have many 2,85 dollar this month, more than ferbruary. today 5 download , appalling day. only sub so far. also adobe seems to have forgot big sale...i was used to have many 2,50 dollar and 7,50....recently only 0,29 sales....
you know what i think? i think that all those free website ar putting the last nail in the coffin. they have millions already of download...mostly are download stolen from micro stock. why i should pay 300 dollar for an extended license if i can find the photo i need for free?
not will be curios to see the next financial result of ss.
You might be right?? but I have another angle to all these people in Ukraine, the east-countries, the phillipines ( no offence to anyone) $10 a day is a lot of money and for that they will upload like crazy I mean upload like mad and thats where a lot of money is going, then they have to satisfy the "factories" or else they pull out millions of shots.....the single sort of contributor like us, well we are pretty much expendible.
