What is the purpose of that site in first place?
If someone want privately jabber with same from same "club" kind of matter he/she/it can do it by irc, icq, sype, msn, or other hundredth of chat applications in real time if they want...

Buy or made some kind od skwii shriek soft stress ball or better voodoo doll and write on this doll: KK Konjson or Kelly or iStock etc... names from FotoLija or names from other headqw you dont like.
After that play with this thing in you hands with some big sharp needle or knife from time to time.
Maybe person/s on ball/doll feel hiccough from time to time. Maybe they feel some kind of stroke depend where you stab sharp item on the doll.
Who knows its very fragile knowledge.
In future after they new fantastic announcements how to screw us more you can combine ritual above with old indian rain invoking dance...

General Stock Discussion / Re: yuri interview on John Lund
« on: January 21, 2011, 19:52 »
Interesting that he's really big on Istock and their future. Never would have expected that.

And he made the leadership of the other companies sound like amateurs. Kind of expected that.

I noticed the same thing.  His faith in Istock's future seems to be much greater than general opinion of the moment.  Maybe he has some inside scoop that is inspiring such confidence.  Or maybe he has some vested interest in promoting Istock.  Almost sounds like he is courting them for a special exclusive deal.

I don't know what could have transpired to sour him on the leaders of the other micros.  They appear to be doing quite well, AFAIK, and none seems to have mismanaged their sites like Istock is currently doing.

Perhaps he feels these are just growing pains for Istock?  Without being privy to whatever info he's basing his opinions on it is impossible to tell.

It was certainly an interesting article, and as usual, Yuri has given plenty of food for thought :)

I dont understand why they (iStock) dont buy him (with big cheky amount of money) in the first place, or make with him more exclusive contract than with other members (like they have with some old scanned archives, or gettys outdated agency images?) without they crap stories about too similar images, few wrong keys, low upload limits or other bullies which we ordinary mortals have with them?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: new contributor??
« on: January 20, 2011, 20:13 »
I tried to sign up as a contributor at IS yesterday but i got a message saying something about new contributors are disable at the present time.
is this a momentary glitch or are they not accepting new aps?

Don't bother unless you want to be treated like dirt..

Yes, consider yourself lucky, read threads in this forum and in the IS forum and give it another think.  ;)

That being said, I am certain they will be accepting new contributors and it is just one of many bugs on the site right now.

Also purchase good lubricant before you submit and pads for knees.

Hi
Is it possible to create automatically in one step with one image all products what they are selling, to choose categories, and pick keywords etc, and after that you just uncheck products which are not suitable for few of them?
Yes, although I am not 100% sure it does all you want. In your account, go to products, and on the top left you find a "quick create" button. I only tried it once, and I didn't like it. Maybe I'm too meticulous, but I prefer to create products one by one, or taking one previous design and replacing the image to create a new one.

Quote
Or to make one product and after that to choose few other product and apply categories, keywords etc from first one?
No. You can create different versions of the same product, let's say, first a horizontal card and then a vertical one. But I do a lot of copy & paste from one product to the other.

Quote
After that we can just to go thru new products and make enlargements or repositioning of image?
I don't know what enlargements you mean.  You can always pick one product and change something in the design, but you have to save it as a new item.

Quote
Why they just dont offer to buyers to choose our image/s and make they custom product by themselves?
Is it something above possible or I miss something?
I have already thought of that, maybe a buyer sees an image as a greeting card and wants it as a mousepad. It is possible, technically speaking, but I guess it isn't how they designed the product creation and all the programming behind it. Also, many designs are not just the image, but image + text.

THNX Madelaide
I try first one and start picking products. As you mentioned It is tricky. After few I press one of wrong buttons and it calls me back over again. I start it from begining and application turns me to side to which I think I want to. To Apply categories and keys etc to all products. After that (lets say 24 or more hours they say that you can customize size (fittings) of images in particular products, as potential buyers can.
THNX again
You make my day  :)

What about round rubber bottom but which is loosed when you step on?

Continuing on the agency vs personal site talk, I'm saying there needs to be something totally new.

How about this? Asthethic rating technology. http://acquine.alipr.com/index.php.

What about a community site without inspectors? An algorithm inspects the photos and rates them for technical and aesthetic quality . Buying patterns determine if the image sinks or rises from there. Buyers could filter by quality and aesthetics.

Take Flickr (or make a site), add this technology, and tweak for stock requirements.

In this asthetic rating allways will pets, flowers or skies poped up first, because lets say most "ordinary" people loves that but nobody buy that as stock. EG see on yahoo video pages there are 99% stuff with "smart/dum" pets. And with social community is problem that only 1% of images have any kind of ratings which are almost made by you friends when you forced them to say something about, or vote for you.
Just my opinion

Hi
As new year started I made my yearly graph for myself in MAC Numbers application (Mac version of Excell) which I want to share with you.

Normally it is nothing special. 2 tables with sums.
First bigger matrix will plot to you Sum of earnings months by months and show it in the left bottom graph and second is you earnings lest years.
Under agency 01 to 16 enter names of youre agencyes and earnings, under days enter the day of the month eg 14.
On the right bottom graph green bar is curently sum of earnings this year compared to last years.

Red bar has simple formula which I named Prediction.
Formula is Sum Current earning of this year by months / number of days x 365
which show you where are you from youre desired earnings at the end of this year.

Again
it is made in Mac Numbers application and it will look like on preview jpg file if you open it in Numbers. I upload as zip file exported excel version of file but when I opened in Open office it opens me as 3 spread sheet. I don have excel so I dont know how it looks like in that.

Excel or Numbers masters PLS tell me you opinions how I can upgrade this sheet in something more usefull.
For now I like watching how red bar is oscilating during day by daily earnings.

PLS Quote this post because I have been ignored by lots of members. OK mostly from godly scared Stokas excluzives and few others before iStock mess how they pop out carrots from they ears to hear when I post something lets say usefull.

"And I must say, thank you to everyone for helping iStock with an exceptional year. With your hard work, we continue to meet and exceed our goals."

Has iStock asked you what your goals are? They didn't ask me, but still they say they know my goals (and that I have met and exceeded my goals even if I disagree).

My dream is that iStock would just suddenly vanish from the surface of earth. *POOF*

You know that's my dream too, exactly, even though IS is where I make the most money.    All IS is doing now is grinding this business into dust.  Please die, IS, so we can start over.

God PLS take them in advance

Just make few aligns/paddings and maybe make all blocks with round corners.
Also try to make intro text shorter to be in bottom line with of Payment Option box.

Cmoan smacks you can do it better

Resubmitting is only simplest if they reject image for few bad keys. But not every time. If revs got similar image like yours in that way they screw you by this keys and you image will not bee searchable so than is better to upload it as new.
I dont bother anymore with resubmitting especially with stupid rejections.

321
I use a Mac and use Filezilla, I've got it set up so that once I've told it what I want to send and where I walk away and it just cracks on and does it. You can set it to upload more than one file at a time but I've found it's actually quicker to just do one at a time and when it's finished it moves onto the next file and then the next site.

I think that's what you're after.

Fetch,  what I am using now, does what you are describing.

What I am looking for is a FTP client that will do batch uploads to 7 different microstock sites of one batch of photos  (once I set up the right addresses and password).  So for example I would like to drag 10 images to the program just once.  Then walk away and have the softward automatically upload the 10 images to 7 different sites?  Does Filezilla do that?

Look you really dont listening.
open Automator application and choose predefined FTP script and drag that action many times how you want connections. Choose you Login and pass of you ftp sites if you defined them in favorites in you FTP client and drop you file in actions and press RUN and thats it.
Is it so complicated?

322
You can make simple lets say script in Automator or in Apple script depends what is easier to you.

323
Good month after all. I'm rather disappointed with Drim. Surprisingly 2 very good months in row at Veer. Canstok is slowly but stedy growing. Others are +/- 1~2% up or down.

MB takes 2,36$ only for withdraw for any amount of money, they are not taking income provision.
So if you withdraw 10 or 1000$ MB they will take 2.36$ after withdraw.
I usually withdraw money when I get paid from few agencies and than make withdraw all at once for this 2.36$.
