Payoneer / Re: IS payoneer card in EU
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:57 »
Work perfect for me. I travel a lot and never have problem with payonner card. Payoneer is my favorite payment method.
BTW I had a problem with paypal - they have the worst client's service I have ever seen.

None of us knows when, but when the business end sorts out and there are only the select "good" micro sites, the prices will start to go back up to match the level of quality and library of available images.

If anyone wants to hasten the process, just stop uploading to the new sites that are going to discount to the limit to get business and stop uploading to the sites under the top ten. They are already on life support. Pull the plug on the discounters who are bleeding the system and forcing the lower prices.

Maybe there is better method, opposite to yours, to make sites respect us. If we uppload tons of crap to not respectful sites they will be in trouble. Numbers of  good images will not increase, only reviewers fee...
It's like voting. Less we are happy more we uppload ;D

It's not making life difficult. The process is simple and was this way from a long time ago.
Like removing file exclusivity. Easy to check in impossible to check out.

Do you  think it's stupid to lock the editing rights of a user who tried to put dirty words there and even emailed us about it?

Do you also think it's stupid not to have a bulk deactivation option so photographers disable files in revenge because they just received their first refusals? Without any concern given to other photographers who had to wait more because the pending line got bigger or that the agency reviewed their files for free?
Yes, it's stupid. If we really want to leave we have the right to. The way to make it as difficult as possible is not professional.
And when you change rules, for example when you introduce subscriptions, you should provide the easy way to leave, like one click button. We are not hostages.

General Stock Discussion / Re: 123 RF

I just checked 123RF and noticed I had a PEL there today. But I don't know how to navigate the site well. Does anybody know how to find the picture that actually sold PEL? All I can find is the mere number of downloads.

Then click on "view'

Does anyone still Upload there besides newbies?? Just curious?????
Not me. I've stopped about 8 months ago. Sales are just riduculous. Every day I think about delete all photos there.
In my opinion we make a big mistake contributing to too many sites. Competition is good by supporting losers is stupid.
Differences between my earnings on "big 4" and anothers sites are so huge that sometimes I think that maybe they sell but "forget" to pay us.
Spreading our work everywhere is risky.

I've never understood why Jon gives us every year better commission. We don't deserve it. We are egoist ready to support every crappy site. We contribute to site like Crestock, Canstock and their $0.25 earnings, we accepted lowering commission from Fotolia, $0.20 "promotion" commission from 123. No reason for SS to pay us more.

- no information about Aliance Partner Program earnings - this is the reason I've opt out. We get 50% of what?. What percentage partner get?
- sometimes, without any reason, I got very low earnings like $0.24 instead of 0.35 for subscription sale. Never got clear response from DT about it.
- subscription unlimited file size - I hate to see 20mp file sell for 0.35. I have to downsize all my images before uploading to DT.
- useless forum. All interestings questions are deleted or stay without response

These plus some other things are why I've finally decided to stop uploading and leave Dreamstime as soon as I can.

I could come up with a much longer list to leave some of the other sites.  I know some people knock DT but is there anything to really be concerned about or is it just unsubstantiated allegations?
@ sharpshot
My English is not very good so may be I misunderstood "unsubstantiated allegations". Does it mean untrue? Which point in my post is not true in your opinion?

Josh gone from Crestock?

SHIP IS SINKING! I hope it will sink so deep that no one finds it ever...

LOL!

Josh was the greatest asset Crestock had in their human resources... Now... They will just sink as ship blown by torpedo.

Amen to that!
Second that.
RIP Crestock.

For Saphire contributors on FT I Just went down 5% in commission. From 45 to 40. That will hurt my income for sure. No doubt. I am thinking about this today and I will comment it more in details when I have receive reply from Oleg.
Yuri, almost one month later and still no feedback. I know that the Fotolia team don't respect contributors like me but I hoped that they treat better VIPs ;)

DT is a good site but there are 4 things I don't like here :
- no information about Aliance Partner Program earnings - this is the reason I've opt out. We get 50% of what?. What percentage partner get?

3 persons sell more after increasing prices. Great news.
Oleg, Chad and Mat thank for posting here. ;D

364
For me there is no more reason to have exclusives photos at Fotolia (earning are the same). So before stop  selling my exclusives files only at FT I'll test the impact of increasing credit's price to max. If they still sell good I'll continue with FT, otherwise I'll upload my exclusives images to all sites.

365
Just got $30 from SS.
SS is the most fair agency. They do what they are payed for : agent's job. Others, especially DT and FT, only delete our complaning posts...

Down 30-40 %.
For the first time for 16 months SS makes better than IS for me.

I've never understood why anyone would go to the effort of deleting their port on a site after going to the trouble to upload unless there were bigger reasons than lack of sales.

It was the increase in subs sales at a 25 cent commission that did it for me. When I saw half my sales (and it was always the images that sold the best elsewhere) were subs at this rock bottom price - with no volume on the upside like at SS (which was paying more anyway), I decided I didn't want these sales to undercut better subs commissions elsewhere.
Agree.
Another reason is of a moral nature: I do not want to treat with sites which are not to fair with their contributors. If they don't have our portfolios customers will leave and buy our images for better prices (for us).

To be on the safe side, I'd let them sign both a Chinese and and English version, but you will need to make sure that those are exact 1:1 translations
This is the best solution. The problem is I don't speak chinese :-\

@ Grp_photo
You are right. I've to check it
Thanks guys.

General Stock Discussion / Chinese model and proprety release
« on: November 07, 2008, 11:14 »
Hi,
Soon I'll spend few weeks in China. I hope to take a lot of photos, including people shots. I take models releases in english but I thing that chinese MR-PR can help to explain (to non english speaking people) how it works. Do you have an idea if chinese MR exist somewhere ?
Thanks

On a separate but related note, a small handful of contributors received $0.30 instead of 30% for some PPD sales on Photos.com since the August launch of Photos.com Plus. Contributors who are affected by this bug will see in the Photos.com line items of their report that downloaded images with a long dimension of 3,300 pixels or greater received $0.30. We produced and verified a report of all affected contributors and we will correct earnings on November 4th, which will appear in affected accounts on November 5th. The bug causing this problem has been identified and will be fixed by mid-next week. After the bug has been fixed, we will run a final report from November 4th to the date of the bug fix and pay out any final PPD earnings affected by this issue.
...
Somebody was refunded for $0.30 instead of 30% for PPD sales on Photos.com ?

For 10 weeks photographers are not reimbursed for XL sales (payed only $0.30) at StockXpert. For 6 weeks same photos.com an JIU+ sales seem to be lost for contributors (and not for agency). Portfolios opted-out from subscription program are still avaible at Photos.com. The "bug" struck everywhere.
I know enough about programming to say that even the worst programmer in the world doesn't need so long to fix these issues.  I think they never counted pay us.

Only model release should do it.
The tatoo"er was payed for his work, he worked for hire lets say... by accepting the money from the guy being tatoo"ed he gave up rights on the drawing.

Patrick H.
Mine opinion too.
How anybody can claim rights to somebody's body part ? Slave system is back ?
Today more and more models (including proffessional tops) have tatoos. Do you realy thing that photographers have to asks proprerty release from tatoo artist for each photo session ?

IMO only stopping uploading to this kind of low commission sites is a mistake. With each new customer at Crestock we lose money (at least $0.07 per download). If we delete our portfolio the customers will go elsewhere. I don't see any reason to continue contributing here.

I did request to get my portfolio deleted ASAP and respectfully wish them the best in the future and thank them for their business in the past.
Good decision. No reason to support bad sites.
