The whole problem seems to me similar to the catastrophe at Stockxpert with repeated file payments showing up (still unresolved by the way) . . . I would say the software running their business needs a few tweaks at least.

^ Not true, I received a comment after a sale saying:
"Dear Steven, We're celebrating our 10 millionth image today. We want to thank you for being a part of our dream and let you know that all images licensed today from your portfolio will award you 100% royalties."

Update from Achilles on the DT board:
The subscription royalties will be awarded at a double rate for today. As you know, they are not percentage based, but we count them in for this promotion. To keep things simple we just doubled them. They are true to their word, just got a .70 instead of .35 for a sub.

Partially failed inspection:
But they do, it has happened to me . . . but only once.
Since the size of your partially failed jpg is 114Kb, it was clearly far too small for Alamy and auto-rejected at upload, as has been explained above at least twice.
Right, right . . . I stand corrected.

Race . . You are right, I had a "Partially Failed" but it had to do with an Error with the Upload.

+1 . . . it was a relief not seeing all those smiling models all the time. Too bad but I do understand their point of view. It is a great site so lets hope it stays that way.

I have learned not too push a file to extremes that induce ‘artifacts’ even for the purpose of artistic expression. I'm not talking about art versus commercial here, I'm talking about the ability to react to what's in front of you and around you (whether in the studio or out in the field), and being able to get it down in a meaningful way.
Correct. It starts with the ability to “see” the intrinsic or essential aesthetics of an object, place, or situation. Where one photographer may just walk past, another will have the ability to see the interplay of composition, color or other aesthetic element. That eye is what makes the artist, then the realization (technique).

As you said, HDR is just another technique that is available and can be used to whatever extent that pleases. I personally don't care so much for the surrealist over use but find it does help in eliminating some of the deficiencies of Dynamic Range in Photography.
While working for an Architecture Photographer some years ago I was forced to replace the windows in PS with a differently exposed shot, . . . not much fun at all and quiet time consuming.

Is the forum gone on the StockXpert-site? Or did they put some place where I can't find it?
gone, gone gone . . . . I guess we only need faith . . . . . omg, what a way to run a business.

oic, so if i want to shoot as what i did with film, i should choose a daylight WB. Thanks!
I didn't find AWB helpful at all, i took a series of photos in a trip, and because the weather is changing that day..so the wb is different. i can adjust it in raw format but i would prefer to get consistent results and easy to adjust for consistency.
I think most film was daylight balanced so there should be a setting to keep your white balance at 5500K, the temperature of daylight. On Canon cameras it is marked as a little sunshine in the white balance settings.
What might be easier to get the same white Balance for a group of photos is to load all RAW images at once into Camera Raw. Top Left select "Select All" and set the White Balance. Now the WB is set for all of those images. Now you can individually select one image and continue to correct that Raw image. The WB will already be set. mtkang, you said: "i don't want a series of photos that i had same day and come out with different color tone" . . . . . so that is how I would do it.

Even though Elena seems to be a very nice person, I am afraid that FeaturePics will be the next to fall.
Crestock has already been absorbed into a larger agency, it may just slowly disappear within Masterfile . . . .

Ouch just when the sales via Zoonar started to roll in
(I remember Zoonar said something about new microstock partner sites, they propably knew the fate of the Polylooks site already)
"Zoonar has acquired Alamy as new partner agency." (from the email sent by Zoonar to contributors) . . . . not really a microstock site but I think that is what that statement refers. And there is this: "Zoonar is shortly going to activate further partners. Among other things, we've planned to provide a new worldwide active partner for all the microstock photos." So Great, lets see what happens.

My sales are horrible this week. I think damage to the company has been done.
Something has definitely changed, at least for me. The last 4 months have been one BME after another . . . until "the announcement". Since then only one sale, slow is an understatement.

VERY frightening. I would skip.
As viewed by a young fellow with no aches and pains and many great years ahead if him. Report back in 40 years.

It really doesn't matter too much if this treatment will be effective or not. The fact is, society is not structured for extending the life expectancy. In fact, with the life expectancy now reaching into the 80's there is mounting problems with retirement and how to pay for those “extra” years. Hate to say it, but Capitalism doesn't need a bunch of happy old people setting around drinking mint juleps! The argument that one would have to work longer before retirement also has problems due to automation and increased worker productivity, it is the younger workers who are raising a family and deserve the working positions. High unemployment is the new reality.
If successful, this drug would be just another entitlement for the very rich due to the cost . . . the modern Aristocracy always gets what it wants.
