Well seems to  have been rather a lot of ELs sold yesterday considering how rare they are there.

when I first started to sell through my own channels I was pricing the images at $3 to test the waters, then increased the prices to $9-10 levels.. to my surprise, the number of transactions did NOT drop a bit.. and I started earning 3 times more just by increasing prices..

I agree completely with this.   At Dt my sales don't drop at all on images as they go up through the price levels. Of my last 10 credit sales at DT, 9 are level 5 and the other one is level 4.

I should have said that it is probably more of a mistake than actual fraud. One image has been downloaded twice so that will definitely be a mistake.  Would be nice if the others are real though as they are few and far between at BS.
It's similar subject matter so could be genuine.  Will keep my fingers crossed :D

Yea I'm still waiting.  I had two EL's of the same image within one minute of each other last month but haven't yet seen a refund.  I just see it as inconceivable that two distinct people would download the same image within 60 seconds of each other.
I would be really annoyed if after I cash out they  decide they want the 175$ back. !!

I'm the opposite. I recently started to reject 123rf 100%.  :)

No children, it was 2 illustrations : one of a rocket ship in space and the other a set of weather icons...
Well we will just have to wait and see.

In Ft, I have to go one by one
No you don't.   Go to My Files and then Indexing and you can batch submit.

Alamy.com / Re: Alamy - More DLs less money
« on: April 19, 2013, 04:29 »
Bad is all I can say.  I used to get $300-$400 sales, now 5-10 $27 dls a month, a few $1-$7 and an occasional (every 2-3 months) $100-$200 sale.  Alamy is fighting against micros.  I knew this would happen after the first commission cut. Pretty soon they will be just another low paying site.  My monthly sales have gone from about $750-$1000 to $150-$300.  I have been with them for seven years.
That's exactly what I am getting.  Mostly 27$ dls with  a few low ones and the occasional big one.  It seemed good to me as I wasn't expecting anything else being relatively new to the site.

Hello Fotografer

I also had 2 EL (25,00$) yesterday for two images... Wait and see if it's no joke...
It's probably ok (I've sold an EL some months ago at BS and there was no problem)
Mine were all 25$ as well.  Were yours of children?

Did anybody get a lot of ELs at BS yesterday?  I got 7 over the course of the day.  I  hope it isn't some sort of fraud!!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Alphabetical Keywords
« on: April 18, 2013, 18:05 »
It makes uploading to Alamy much easier if the keywords are in order of relevancy and the first 7 keywords at Fotolia were always weighted more heavily in the searches but I'm not sure if that is still the case.

I've only been uploading for a year and my RPD is 20$.  What was a typical RPD in years gone by as I have nothing to compare it against?

I gave up uploading there by ftp as it the uploads dissapeared too often.  I always upload through the site now.

« on: April 16, 2013, 13:12 »
Only thing I ever have to do on Pond is use the pull-down to set the price and use it again to send to curator. About 4-5 clicks and 2 characters to type no matter how large the batch. One of the easiest sites to submit to.
MRs are a bit more fiddly than some sites but I agree not a difficult site to upload to once you work out how to do it.

Hard to find anything to disagree with in your post Beppe.  I don't understand the negatives either.  I gave you a +1, so at least one negative was erased :)
Negatives gone. This post didn't deserve a minus.

I checked every day to see if they had been approved and as soon as I saw that they were approved they were also in the search, so a day at the most.

The hidden tab shows soft rejections, files that you can resubmit after making changes; I dont know where to find hard rejections.
I guessed that it might be the case.

In the 'hidden' tab you can see rejected files but I'm not sure if it is only the ones that can be resubmitted.  I've had a couple in there for missing MRs. I've never had a rejection there yet so I think that they take most images.

Wow.  I'll work on this later today.  With all my models and various combinations, I'm not looking forward to it.
I found it best to put them up in blocks of the same model/models and then batch attatch the releases, batch set the price,  send them to curator and then upload another set.  It's way too much scrolling and complicated otherwise .

Pond5 / Re: Official question for POND5

I tried following links to help files and they were all dead.  Multiple button clicks to do this and that.  Video terminology mixed in everywhere.  UI box didn't tell me what to do when uploads done uploading.  Just very clunky.  And my experimental image from Monday is still pending.

10 days later, single image still sitting there, pending.
I put about a 1000 images up there and they were pending for 6 weeks. They've taken everything that I threw at them though so it wasn't a waste of time. Uploading isn't too bad once you work out the best way to do it.

421
In video he says over 40k
I think that they are currently paying out about $3M per month.
So average payout is less that 75$ a month.

422
Same here.  You just have to make sure that you have them doing normal everyday things making it difficult to misuse them.   Saying that I would never understate the risks and tell the parents that I have no control over misuse.

 the bridge is a joke.
Interested to know why you think the bridge is a joke.  I think it's great as the only thing I have to do once images are uploaded to SS is to go in to BS for payouts.
I make a bit more at BS than I do at Canstock
