POND5,

You know that Your review times are unreasonable long.
Compared to some TOP and MIDDLE Tiers unlogically long.

Your support is ok and fast but review times are a big problem.

Beside merging with other agencies are You doing on this problem too ?

Thank You in advance for Your reply.

Yes, I agree.  A month and still nothing is excessive.

What about Pixmac? Now that they are one and the same, is it worth uploading there for faster reviews?

I don't care about review times.  I'd rather they saved the money.  Other sites have faster review times but pay us a lot lower commission percentage.  I upload and forget about it.  It's much more frustrating when sites just reject everything to shorten the queue.  Pond5 seem to accept almost everything eventually.

I'm with Sharpshot.  If a higher commission and lower rejection rate means longer review times, so be it.

Why is the workflow and user interface on the site so poor and complex?

If you want my work, you're going to need to work for it.

I just signed up to Pond5 and can't figure anything out. Links to articles that explain their file requirements, vector uploading process, etc., are all dead links.

Anyone know how to upload vectors there? File types, versions, with or without JPG, etc...

Edit: Nevermind, found out in another thread that they aren't taking direct vector uploads yet.

Is it? Yeah, the user interface is. But I found what I was looking for in the help section, figured out how to upload files through FTP, set a price and send it to the curator. The only thing I still need to figure out is the model release handling. And then we'll see if I made everything right.

But once figured out, submitting images is much quicker than with most other major agencies. FTP, set a price, send to curator, done. At least that's how it looks to me. Maybe I missed something that would make it more complicated?!?

I tried following links to help files and they were all dead.  Multiple button clicks to do this and that.  Video terminology mixed in everywhere.  UI box didn't tell me what to do when uploads done uploading.  Just very clunky.  And my experimental image from Monday is still pending.

I find it quite easy to fill in just the bits that are essential for an image and ignore the rest.  Reviews take a long time at the moment but that's probably because they've been swamped after opening up to stills.

Had a few sales and the 50% commission with my choice of prices is very nice.  If they get anywhere near as good at selling stills as they are at selling footage, they'll be one of the best sites to use.

I agree with all of those. However, I was able to figure out things, and when I did it was really the easiest way to submit a large number of images at once. I like that I can easily change description or keywords directly from the upload page, I also like that I can make the upload page show a large number (up to 800) images at once. And the batch tools (select the images on the right, then go to the bottom) to change prices and send the image to the "curator" are very helpful.

All not intuitive or easy to understand but in my opinion one of the best mass upload systems when you figured out how to use it.

Will be waiting for the review now which I am prepared will take quite a while compared to other agencies from what I've read from others...

Guys, guys, my question was for POND5 about unreasonable long review times.
Now You talk about user interface, batch process, ...
Some other threads are already active with this subjects.

But, as I see, nobody from POND5 want to reply.

 :(

I had files sitting there for 2 weeks then 2 days ago uploaded new images and suddenly everything was accepted in 24 hours.

Maybe upload something new, just to see how it goes. They have speed up their inspection process, maybe they are working backwards (newest first). The good thing is they always clear everything in your queue once they look at your files.

I find their upload page visually confusing as well, but I am slowly getting used to it and it is usable, especially if you have all your iptc data added. But I do wonder who on earth designed this interface. It cant be a Mac user...

So far they take everything I throw at them, so with your kind of quality, there wont be a problem.

I put about a 1000 images up there and they were pending for 6 weeks. They've taken everything that I threw at them though so it wasn't a waste of time. Uploading isn't too bad once you work out the best way to do it.

Wow.  I'll work on this later today.  With all my models and various combinations, I'm not looking forward to it.

I found it best to put them up in blocks of the same model/models and then batch attatch the releases, batch set the price,  send them to curator and then upload another set.  It's way too much scrolling and complicated otherwise .

Review time works for me on a parallel with sales volume. Theless the volume the less I care about review time, as the less influence it has on my total income. It also makes economical sense, as the smaller the site (slower sales) the less reviewers they can afford.

I am quite happy where Pond5 find themselves at present and have great hopes for their future, as they pay a proper commission.

I have had 190 accepted after a month. After 2 days they are not on-line yet. How long does that take?

I checked every day to see if they had been approved and as soon as I saw that they were approved they were also in the search, so a day at the most.
