the book is copyrighted 1980, saying no reproduced in anyway, without permission in writing to the publisher.
is copyright still consider legal even the company is gone?

Due to several agencies that paid in different currencies. I have US, EUR, GBP..
whenever i want to draw some from paypal to my local bank, it seems I can only draw from one of the currencies. I have little amount like 1.16 and 0.80 GBP, is there a way I can convert them to USD so i can clear them?

if it is around $0.5 and 1.2, why not showing it? how about extended license? to me the extended license is the 'real commercial sale', the subscriptions i will treat it like some guys just use it for limited usage..and they are not willing to pay more. That's why extended license is a balance for whole sale. because of the no information of everything, i only upload some of my portfolio. I don't see that is helping your site. For 330$ pr year you can download 50 full resolution images pr week on iSignstock. Thats 2600 images for 330$ or 12.69 cent pr image which woukd leave the contributor with 3.8 cent after iSignstock has taken their 70% share...Well, we know that almost no buyers use the entire download quota, but this sure smells like a rotten deal for photographers.
Anyone care to share their RPD on iSignStock?
As you mention calculating the RPD based on the maximum download limits is a very misleading approach as literally none of our customers use their full quota. This service is marketed to sign makers. It is an important market for images but their requirement is less than say graphic designers. The vast majority purchase full subscriptions ($395) but use a fraction of their download limit. Currently the average revenue per download ranges from $0.50-$1.20 and don't forget this figure will include images they download for mock ups and samples which will never be used commercially. We have many contributors making good royalties with us and in last months polls we were just below Panther Media and Photodune.

may i know who is the pro photographer in beijing? since all name are known, possible to share it? is it in microstock also? I saw one of the frequent microstock girl model in asia countries, but I can't really find more things about the photographer, wonder is it the same one? In my previous interview to Yuri, he said Andres Rodriguez was No.1 stock photographer and now No.2.
I did not doubt it until yesterday I visit a pro photographer in Beijing, China.
Now I know two photographers can earn millions per year, are there more?
anybody know?

i think you can just choose the yes/no option, i think the illustrations/clipart categories have been removed some time ago since the yes/no feature will have filtered it as illustrations.

I see, I just checked there is a link of referred photographer list in submit.shutterstock.com too..my mistake. It's not really a link we need to use as everything there can be found in the contributor's account.

Hi all, I found out recently that shutterstock had a separate affiliate account.. affiliate.shutterstock.com instead of the usual contributor account. It seems like showing more information about affiliate, and one can even know who is your referred members. I think it is useful for blogger or buyers who aren't interested to contribute images, without interface of submitting images. the above link is a referred link. If you are a contributor then you can login with same username and pw too.

i use lightroom for raw to jpg.. and use adobe bridge to edit keywords.
I wonder is lightroom works perfectly for keywords and possible to dump the adobe bridge totally? one thing i like lightroom is the zoom feature is really good to check the quality of image, the zoom in bridge is not really helpful.

I have tried to purge and it takes like 2 hours to generate those thumbnails again..but it doesn't help the performance too. I want to right click and choose file info, or select multiple file..none of it can react..it shows 'non responding' but back to normal in a while..
even i can browse every image, but it seems i can't edit and multiple select. I wonder why such a lousy software? at least give me a message like the hard disk space is not enough or blah blah.. it seems so clueless.

Hi All,
adobe bridge CS5 is running extremely slow, I usually use it as a image browser and key in metadata, but it is getting so slow that it will become non responsive.
I wonder what I can do to improve it..
I read about the harddisk space is important, is it the harddisk space of cache or the drive where i keep my file (external drive).
I keep all my photos by year, so it is kind of big size folder, maybe like 2-3k images a folder, will adobe bridge able to handle size like these?
I notice there is a cache of preview thumbnail, should i purge it once a while?

Hi All,
I wonder how you track your sales from all the sites?
I recently tried the stockperformer, it is quite good but only 4 sites available and recently the free trial is over.
I think there is a microstockchart website before that, but it is only manually key in.
any free application or sites that one can track sales from all sites?

if you are a designer or photographer with a lot of existing own materials that you own it, then try to get in shutterstock, it pays from 0,25 to $28.. it is really the only microstock website that works.
and what is selling in microstock is really some materials for design (illustrations) or concepts oriental photos.. if you are taking different kind of photos then it is better to start from alamy.

actually i self learn adobe illustrator by myself, so i figure out a non-stroke and non-filled frame is the easiest way to make how i want the jpg look from the eps..
I used to use 'crop tool' also but it seems gone in CS5..
I wonder why istock will reject a non-stroke and no filled frame, whenever i open the eps in photoshop, it is always the exact jpg size with transparent background. I don't understand why it will have problem to paste on different colored backgrounds.

Finally i found someone do the same thing as me. I didn't have problem with istock, but just recently got a rejection because of the no fill and no stroke frame. It seems some system will generate thumbnail from the eps, so without the frame, i think the jpg preview will fit to the vector instead of artboard. here are the istock rejections: Please remove the white shape from behind your illustration. Adding backgrounds limits a client's ability to place the illustration onto different colored backgrounds. In addition, please note we do not accept files with unfilled/unstroked objects in backgrounds as they cause clients problems when editing and/or importing files into different programs. Please crop your preview more closely to the subject. The composition of your preview contains an unnecessary addition of blank/negative space. I recently adopted this technique of an invisible frame around the artboard (not transparent but with no fill and no stroke). Mostly for the sites that generate the jpeg on the server side. For now, I had no rejection by Istock for that reason.
saying the invisible frame can be a problem to some applications. Would be nice to have confirmation of this.

so it seems only ai file will make photoshop raster around the artboard? will it be a problem that eps raster size is not same as jpg preview? I mean seem photoshop doesn't recognize the artboard in eps, so if buyer or the site system generate a jpg if will be fit to the vector instead of artboard.

just want to give allyoucanstock some supports, i am not actively upload there, but they do a good job in a lot of area.
there are many things that still can be improved, like making the ftp transfer easier, extended license option, some collections or galleries to browse (instead of the whole images by search), get some big names like yuri..

Hi all,
I had been using a non-filled non-stroked square frame to 'crop' some of my eps vector isolated on white background, usually i will make the artboard fit to the invisible frame also.
the reason i am doing so is, if I pull the eps to photoshop to generate jpg, the jpg will generate around the frame. If without the invisible frame, the jpg will generate around the vector itself and didn't leave some space around it.
I have no problem to submit vectors to all sites, and recently i got a rejections from istock, and saying the invisible frame can be a problem to some applications.
anyway, i wonder how you guys crop your eps vector? i remember there was a crop too, but no CS5 illustrator only left with artboard tool.
can someone share the tips? thank you.

Hi Robert, what I understand is panthermedia let's the buyer have an option to purchase RF image based on usage with different price and name this special license as 'RM'. I have no problem with RF image that i have submitted to Panthermedia that opt in this option. But it is different with traditional RM license right? if i list my image in Panthermedia, my image will still consider as RF, that's mean buyer will still able to buy it as RF but not RM only license. Is there a way to choose on RM license? @mtkang,
unless you have not signed an exclusive ditributor agreement, there is no conflict. If you sell the same images as RF anywhere else, then there is definitely no conflict.
Best regards,
Robert

shall one feather the selection first before saving it to a path? or save the path first then apply the feather option to make the outline looks more natural?

I thought paste the object over pure white will be precise enough, so i didn't keep the clipping path.
should i make it to black and white and select the outline to create a path?
