p5 now accepting photos, and you can set your own price!
Thats put a cat amongst the pidgeons!
didnt they partner with 123rf? if i have work on 123rf that is mirrored on p5 will that cause a conflict of interest??
I see my portfolio there even though I never uploaded anything. But there is no way to set your own price. My highest resolution images are being sold for $10.

@ ShadySue:
The example being shown is not a PNG. It is a clever way to include a mask which can be easily converted to an alpha channel. While useful, it makes for an odd looking thumbnail.

you know about PNG on DT - SS will accept an image done like this (image has an alignment mark in the corner of each)

FT will reject - haven't tried 123. IS may accept them as I believe I have seem some..
Where can I find info on SS requirements to include an alpha mask like the example you show?

We can't tell you how hard it is to get accepted anywhere, since we have absolutely no idea what you are trying to submit. If you want help with your submissions to other agencies, you are going to have to show us what you've got.

I always have to try several times to get it to upload. Traffic? I can't figure out which hours are the best to try. I'm in the US.

They are the worse. Complaints go unheeded.

Within minutes, at every tragedy in the news, we are presented with images from Getty. Ninety five percent of the time, the images are in focus, and exposed correctly. Sometimes they are images taken before emergency responders arrive. Sometimes they are images taken within police barricades that the rest of the public don't have access to. So, how does this work? Does Getty really have staff photographers all over the world, in every remote region, ready to snap away and upload immediately? It's logistically impossible. Are they imbedded with emergency crews? Even if Getty is buying from professional photographers who scan emergency channels, how are they negotiated and uploaded so fast?

The trick is usally that only ONE of the TWO words is required to solve properly in order to gain access. Usually one of the words is much better readable than the others and thats the one to solve...
Your trick doesn't work for me. Must enter both words.

I suspect the OP is trying to stir things up to get a reaction from us. (horrorshow?) The story doesn't pass the smell test.

Same here. It''s broken.

Actually, they belong to my wife. Just thought it was a funny headline. One of my bigger scores from Alamy. Love that agency.

There are complaints on the Fotolia forum about the loss of extended licenses. The Moderator says he's looking into it.

I was uploading today, and for the first time I see a new field called Choose Your Contract. The default is set to Exclusive to Fotolia? - Yes. And....If your file is declined by our editors, can we place it in the Fotolia free section? - Yes.
Anybody else seeing this? Kind of presumptive on their part.
If we are talking about the same thing you are referring to the three round tick boxes at the bottom of the screen (the middle one being the option to allow extend licenses)? If we are, mine is all always set to "No", I actually have to tick it to "Yes" to allow extended licenses every first image I submit (thereafter it stays ticked). Can not remember if it might not be something you can set up by default in your account?
This is what I'm seeing today. No option to extend licenses.

I clicked on the two links from the OP, and both take me Shutterstock and shows me logged in with my earnings visible including my homepage. How could a phishing scam have access to my homepage without me giving them any info?

These are gorgeous!
Unfortunately, all three pieces were done for free. High profile promotions, working with the top Memphis ad agencies at the time.

@Rimglow do you have a website for your illustrations? I like your maestro character there, is it illustrator or photoshop?
Go to my profile page. I'm easy to google. I don't understand your maestro question. That's a photo of me and a mural I painted in 1970. Probably taken with my Kodak Instamatic.
I have also tried to track down your more painterly stuff before and failed to do so.
Still in awe of your talents.
Here are some examples of some posters I painted back in the eighties. I don't include them in current portfolios cause I don't work this way anymore. http://www.pbase.com/dannysmythe/posters

I'm a musician as well. Self taught.
Mural painting led to product illustration > digital illustration > photo illustration > retouching > photography. No more paint brushes....too slow. Computers changed everything.
Slow down and smell the roses, etc. Maybe later in life you will get more pleasure out of the feel and smell of painting. You really should keep active with the paint and brushes. imo
I think you might have a romantic idea of painting. There was no smell because I painted in acryllic. It was also laborious and messy and expensive. At best, I was only mediocre, and there is no money for mediocre painters. I followed a natural progression that rewarded my creativity. That's the best feeling.....create something and be paid well for it. I do appreciate your concern for my well being.
