Oh, my! It looks like it's contagious! I would not bother with this browser, if not for the brilliant script of deymosD, which works only in Mozila. At the moment everything works perfectly for me.
No problem, I just reloaded the page and everything worked, but funny that we were talking about it and there was the Red Sofa. You didn't mention that you were running a script, which couldn't find the new data. Haven't used it in some time, what does he have now that makes the script special? Yes it was brilliant work. Hold Control and reload, that should clear the cache and be fresh without going into complicated settings. I don't know if the Control F5 still works.

Hi.
Can I ask you why this step? It's not enough to set the titles/descriptions and keywords on the web? I don't use to do it and can see my pictures well indexed (I think so).
Thanks.
If you include data in the file you don't need to add data every time you load to a different site.
Right, everyone has their own best workflow, we use different software, we have different ways to upload, and plans for batches, large or small. But having the metadata embedded in every image is the single universal, best practice for managing images. Once you have the data, you'll never have to enter it again, only update if you have new ideas. Eventually keyword lists or saved word groups will also be useful if someone is shooting similar subjects over time.

ok, how about now.
can you modify your post? can you give +1 to posts?
Looks like whatever you did, fixed everything that was wonky. I can call off the angry mob of Microstockers. (remember this one from 2012?)

very simple , doable site since the beginning. I think the fat Lady is singing. shame.
Are they one of your 9 sites or just an observation? I closed 123RF long ago.

Hi everybody, fairly new to stock photography and wondering what you boys and girls do as far as a workflow for getting photos ready, keywording and then submitting to the likes of Shutterstock, AdobeStock etc.
I'm positive there are people who have better methods, but just to answer. Once I have the editing and culling finished, ready to upload, renamed and whatever else. 1) I add keywords to every image, batch add if they are similar, then go to SS and use the keywording tool to find words I might have missed. Paste that into everything. If single image same. Important always have the best keywords Title and Description embeded in the files. 2) Upload in batches depending on the site. 3) check online for errors and data 4) Wait Alternate plan B - Use Stock Submitter and send everything to everyplace, all at once, ftp. #2 alternate plan, Upload Editorial to SS. Then Upload Illustrations to AS. ftp Video to Pond5 Different agencies get different files. Alamy doesn't get the same as Microstock. Some that go to Alamy, never go to Microstock. Have fun! 5) Move the files from the folder "ready to upload" (often with agency folders below) to Uploaded to all in case some day I want to add someplace or upload. 6) Back up to My Micro 2019 on the external drive. Watch the money roll in. Sometimes I have a folder for rejections, that I can look back at and decide if they should be re-evaluated, uploaded again, or left in the rejection folder. I also have a folder Not Uploaded, On Hold and Microstock Ideas, which means I'm probably going to re-shot because I rejected them myself.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I recently moved the forum over https (instead of http) which is more secure and makes the browsers happy, but it has create a few problems along the way. I'm slowly getting things fixed but it is taking a while. I'll keep working at it. Please let me know if you see any new issues.
test
Tried to give your post a +, doesn't work. Just adding this to the list. Maybe it's just one fix and everything will work? Sure hope so.

I get an unsecure form message. I also tried the Report to moderator link at the bottom of the spam post and got the same error.
And we can't edit messages. The new server or something else has caused some issues.

They are both publicly traded corporation. Why can't Shutterstock pay us at least 35% like AdobeStock? I hope AdobeStock's video sales will surpass Shutterstock's this year. They are growing fast and are catching up.
Public traded works against our interests. I'm forced to add, Pond5 pay 50%

Try again as the Post edit function isn't working
Been doing this since 2011 though slow to begin with I didn't really get round to major uploading until 2013.
3,000 images in SS 1,700 on Adobe
5,000 on Alamy
Normally in the first week things are good and you can extrapolate what you'll get by the end of the month.
Perhaps Easter has come early? or maybe its this "Carnival" thing in Europe I learned about this week.
Hopefully sales will come in later in the month
I think 2009 or 2010, but didn't add most until 2012 or 2013. 4,500 on SS under 1,000 on AS. I stopped caring about IS (they removed 3,657 of my images when they changed to Getty) and Alamy resting for now, 1,799 which means I take what falls on me, no protest or complaints, just bored. Mostly trying to add to P5 now and see what happens. Hopefully you will recover some, I just can't understand dropping from $1,000 in a month to under $50 that's the worst I've ever heard of. Oh my sales remain flat, Adobe is growing, without any extra effort or different attention. If it wasn't for increased subs and OD, I would be missing the EL downloads. Treading water is better than sinking. I need to make it clear that SS has different files in many cases than Adobe. SS takes Editorial, AS not. AS takes some illustrations that SS doesn't. IS would probably be better if I uploaded new, but I'm just tired of their convoluted upload system. Even DM doesn't work sometimes and I know that Franky does a great job, must be my editor or something. Alamy takes both but downloads are so slim, I lost motivation. DT I don't know why I upload anything there. That's the whole group, I've dropped over 20 agencies because there's no sense in working for nothing, or insignificant spare change.

Someone might come in handy. Finally decided to clear cookies and all data. Now everything works as it should.
Good that you found it. I was out of ideas. Look what I got yesterday morning?

Sadly for me it's been since I created my account... and I have several thousand files!
no position just means 0 sales...
Yes I figured that out at the start of the week. I mean it does say week... Now I know better.

SS down, AS up, IS down, P5 up. AS will pass SS, P5 will pass IS. Question is how fast? 2020
While Adobe is getting closer I wouldn't put money on them ever passing SS. If they ever took on Editorial that would be a different story.
Adobe is on fire! Honestly with and inside track to buyers through CC and the actual review policies that screen for useful, quality images, I think they can grow and keep taking a bite out of SS business. I'm sure I've pointed this out before, but remember when IS was King of the Hill, and all the rest just hanging out down below. It could take 2-3 years but Adobe has more growth potential than any other site, with or without Editorial. The poll here is far from scientific, but it does reflect the forum members over time? If the drop for SS stays the same and the growth for AS continues, 2021 they will be neck and neck. I agree ~ people have being saying Adobe is "On Fire!" and predicting they will over take SS but I've yet to see it in the last two years.
From my own experience Adobe bumbles along with subscription sales the credit sales of Fotolia days have long gone and my revenue from Adobe has only shown a decline.
Didn't you delete a large number of images back in DPC? Are those back now or did you cut your collection down and leave it smaller for Adobe? I closed my FT account, so I'm starting over from nothing.

The problem is, and this applies to all agencies, that "editorial" has wrongly become a catch all for non-released.
I think there should be three categories:
Fully-released/commercial Editorial (i.e., truly newsworthy) Non-released (clips that are NOT newsworthy but contain unreleased people or properties)
Well said, and three types would help buyers, before they search. I have quite a bit of Editorial Only, but shot with permission.

For some reason I can get a post edit to stick.
I modify type in alterations click "Post" and the edit box goes white and the post reverts to its original state
Oh good you noticed I was starting to get worried that it was just me and my crappy internet. Not only can't edit, yesterday I posted a reply and nothing was added, just a quote. Of course when I went to edit, same as you. Took me to a new blank post. I wrote to Leaf before I saw this.

Only in-camera editing if it supports it, (what is your camera?) some older models had similar features I think, like Vixia or e.g. canon 600D had a "snapshot" 8sec max in camera maker. (edit) it seems that GoPros also support this in camera trimming funktion.
I think that pressing the rec button at the "right" moments is the best solution. Easy to say, hard to do it though...
here is another link, I also don't use VLC, so, I dunno if it will work for you. If I got it right, it isolates and saves parts of a bigger clip.
https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-create-video-clips-in-vlc/

Amazing, I never knew that VLC did any editing, maybe a screen capture but never know that tip could be useful some day.

Interesting. I have several monitors -
On my one monitor, I couldn't tell the difference for the first image. On my second monitor, I could notice more shadows (that were hidden) in the first image (thought it was a volcano though, not fireworks), actually wasn't quite sure what it was a picture of).
On both, I notice a difference in the orange in the eggs.
Third, bottom coins look a bit better.
I wouldn't worry about it. You can't control it.
Yes to that and all the others that observed, beyond our control. I wish I had my old Sony CRT monitor (which was just too big! Gone to recycling) I bet I could see more differences. But also a good point, doesn't matter because the potential buyer will be seeing what they see on their browser and monitor, just like all sites will have the same general saturation and colors. It's relative. I wasn't asking about the images, they are not important, just the first that came up on P5 when I was looking and noticed the flag was different colors. Much more vibrant red. And the eggs looked kind of green and faded. I suppose I should have looked to see which was closest to the actual shot I uploaded? Bottom is Firefox, Top is Chrome and the washed out flat looking is Edge. That's the opinion of which browser I liked the look best. Next week we ask, does the brand of mouse really make a difference on the way your Internet works?

Its miserable Uncle Pete made a fat nothing this month so far $36.22 compared to a $1,000 a month at the end of last year.
Hence my weeping and wailing
Holy Dire, Crash, Drop and Dive. That's not like a 20% fall, it's like off the Empire State Building kind of fall. Both AS and SS did that, all at the same time. How many images do you have? How long have you been doing this? Something is wrong.

I know there have been many discussions about displays and buyers, resolutions, colors and quality of previews. I just found this today. The agency doesn't matter, but it just happens to be Pond5. I switched to see if my gallery looked different on FireFox or Chrome, then tried Edge. Oh Oh, look at the colors. Probably on a Mac things would look different too. Same computer, same time, same monitor, same video card, same capture software. Only think I can conclude is, each browser will look different for buyers, depending on their computer but also depending on their browser. I'm done worrying about sRGB or the sites thumbs and previews, there's nothing that we can control. Anyone care to guess the browser and decide from your viewpoint, which image is best? Top, Middle or Bottom? Of course that's kind of silly because if what I'm looking at is only here, everything depending on your computer, monitor and browser will also look different, won't it? Hmmmm

Indeed. We are not talking about newsworthy stuff just non released people and property. Also trademarks. That sells a lot in SS...

Thanks everyone for chiming in on this important topic. Love and do know that we're always evaluating what can be done to make our service and our contributors more successful.
Out of curiosity, how many people here are talking about video vs photos?
Thanks, Dennis
Myself, little or no video, all about Editorial photos. Mine are released media material, not public news or things without a release that get marked "Editorial". I'm sure there are a variety of different ways that people here work. I'm actually restricted from taking video at many events as Television owns the rights.

I just discovered that my exclusive at IS became no restrictions when Music moved to Getty. OK so I missed that change? I started uploading to P5 yesterday. SFX but there's room for music some day. Anyone with experience have any advise or review of the viability of Music or SFX at P5? Thanks
