Wait until Shutterstock/Fotolia re-align to $49 and VB, seing that, go down to $29 thinking they cannot compete with the "big boys". And all of this, repeating over and over until prices go to $x.
It happened for photos, it is sure happening for videos.
You really believe that? That'll cut their profit drastically too. Shutterstock is doing well and seems totally unaffected by VideoBlocks. Fotolia has never had any notable video sales in the past anyway. So, I'll enjoy getting $47/clip royalty on VideoBlocks while you and others get scared away from it.

What you are saying helloitsme doesn't really make much business sense because most peoples clips can be $100 or more. So you are joining and advertising an agency which doesn't think HD is worth more than $49. In you're own little way (good intensions at heart I know) you're desecrating our video industry. I'd never support an agency who sells video files for that amount. If the vids were low quality and of subjects and content that was poor then maybe? but to sell top quality clips at that price is crazy.
Most people's clips are in $60-80 range on pond5, but I see some major contributors pricing their clips around $40 on Pond5 while selling at VideoBlocks at the same time. I'm talking about them.

Exactly why I don't sell at VB. Encouraging buyers to think $49 is an appropriate price is a mistake.
For me, only thing that matter is how much I get per clip sale. So, VB is all good because I don't sell directly at $70-80.
You have a very short term outlook for your business. I find your philosophy on what to price your clips at on P5 laughable.
Selling a clip at $79 doesn't mean anything if you only get $23 versus selling at $49 and get double the $23. Good luck.
I understand percentages. I also understand that they aren't locked in place and that the usual trend for them is downward. I also understand that the buyer doesn't care what percentage you get.
Ask yourself why a company has chosen to host and sell your clips and not retain any of that earning. As if it all just happens for free.
Ask yourself if you are better off making $47 from a single HD sale or $23 regardless of how much the clip was sold for. You are free to leave and delete your clips at VideoBlocks. Keep speculating while others make much more per clip. I'm seeing the money and am happy. So, I'm laughing.

You should make a buyer want to buy at $49 on VideoBlocks rather than paying more on Pond5 or any other sites. I see some sellers selling for $40 or less on P5 while selling at VideoBlocks as well, but you are making buyers want to buy at $40 or less and only make $20 or less per clip while you can make $47 per clip on VideoBlocks. Minimum HD price you should set at Pond5 is about $60 if you sell the same clips at VideoBlocks too. Make your potential buyers want to buy at VideoBlocks at cheaper price than Pond5 so that you make much more money per clip.

I got my account approved on Dissolve, but never got around to uploading. Glad I didn't. I just feel like they're slimy for doing things the way they did.
And now that I've got most of my portfolio on VideoBlocks, I'm enjoying steady sales there.
Most of my microstock friends have told me they will no longer upload new content to Dissolve, though most are making enough sales to not deactivate their portfolios.
It's the same with iStock, most people I know stopped uploading new content and when sales eventually dried up, they removed their portfolios. Dissolve will likely suffer the same fate as most producers will stop submitting new content and eventually they'll pull their existing content leaving Dissolve an empty hulk.
Stock agency that doesn't respect contributors will fade out sooner than later. That's just how it is.

I was wondering if there was any clarity on the pricing at dissolve. Now that I've lost an agency (Revostock) I was hoping to fill the gap with another but I am still confused about the pricing at Dissolve as I've done a quick search and can see clips for sale at $49 and $79.
Who exactly is pricing these clips, is it the contributor or do the staff evaluate the clip and price it accordingly?
Also, has anyone seen any increase in sales this year at Dissolve?
Thanks.
Avoid Dissolve like a plague. Just try VideoBlocks and you probably will be happy.

Actually, my weekly rank went up from around 1,000 to 800. i must be doing something right, or Adobestock users like my photos.

My sales jumped about 50% this month suddenly. Anybody seeing similar sales increase this month?
My ranking stayed about the same, but little better.
Can you please kindly share your portfolio because Fotolia is almost dead for us since Adobe took over and the review system sucks!
Sorry, I won't share my portfolio.

Just to show how bad it is for me, with 2,725 images, I sold 5 last week. My best was 87 in a week in 2009. Will try some new uploads but that's not helped in the last few years.
I have a little less than 2,000 images and usually sell around 100/week.

I set my prices to $59.80 at P5 for now and views are way up and sales climbing, VB is on fire right now and they lock me in at $49 and SS ar $79, Not sure if is it all related to price though, I did two price experiments earlier this year, lowered all prices to $41 and sales went up for one day and then settled back down, raised all prices to $400 to reflect the true cost of the making the product and sales went to zero but then one sale did come through.
We don't know his sales numbers, maybe he is making a killing on volume, some good marketing too!, there are quite a few "ladies" advertising stock footages and beautiful stock footages on YT and wen you drill down to actually buy a clip it takes you back to the motion poland page on P5. Good marketing. That's what I need to do once I finally have all 50,000 up on all three sites but even that is a challenge, getting more tired each day sitting at the computer 18 hours a day tagging these thing as they upload.
Marketing is everything, no point having a fully stocked store if no one knows about it.
Would love to do another test, drop prices to $20 and see if massive volume sales ensue but I don't have a week to gamble on, if sales stay same then I lose a lot.
I see the most big sellers on P5 price their videos between $60-80 range. I think he'll make more money raising $10 or $20. I think it's his fear that prevents him from raising price. When I raised my price from $50 to $60, I was scared to. Now I set my clips to mostly $70.

I think it's clear that Adobestock is accelerating these days. Most creators use Adobe softwares. So, it's understandable. It will get much better from here for Adobestock/Fotolia in my opinion.

I think it's more likely to be an agency. Anyone with 50,000+ quality clips of their own would be making a very nice living indeed. I agree the pricing is way too low. I bumped my minimum prices up to $59 and if anything sales have increased.
I raised my price over the years, but didn't affect total revenue per clip. My clips are between $60-70 now on Pond5.

Probably wants to compete with VB.
LOL! He may be selling at VB as well, but for $10 more and $30 more commission per clip.

His clips are very good. Pricing them at $39 on Pond5 isn't a wise move for himself in my opinion. His clips will sell at $60 and he'll make more money than pricing them at $39. http://www.pond5.com/artist/motion_poland#2Maybe he's worried about losing sales, but actually he's losing potential income in my opinion. How do you guys think?

Videoblocks is the only agency that do withdrawals on all my sales, all other agencies do withdrawals on US sales only... and that's make Videoblocks less attractive for me (33$ per sale instead of 48$) Why videoblocks is different? (I am suspicious here)
Never had that before. Maybe I'm lucky.

Sales still going strong for me at VB and P5 abut still flat at SS, hoping for it to continue but need to find a way to promote my content to the world, different buyers uses different sites and out of habit or subscription they may be partial to one so I am uploading like crazy to three solid ones, 7000 new clips now on VB.
Cool.

I don't know what happened.
I stole all your sales. No, really, I did.
Good. Since then, the sales picked up and on its way to be above September's sales. Maybe their big customers didn't pay till the mid month or something so that they couldn't report sales to contributors.

One sale today, let's see if it is a real one this time or if there will be a refund.
Maybe a fake refund?
