That's how it is at IS as well.

So, how much is the least amount you get from selling a 1080 full HD clip on iStock?  Do you know?

Don't waste your efforts uploading footage to 123RF, FOTOLIA and other such sites that are OK for photos but bottom feeders for footage. Stick to P5 and SS and any other site that has decent returns. Don't feed sites that pay pitiful amounts. They need to be starved of submissions unless they sort their pricing.

You can decide this by having a bottom line average net threshold per clip that you won't go below. Once you sell half a dozen clips on any given site, if that average is below your preset threshold then delete all your clips. It's the only way and I reckon that threshold should be around $17 based on my experience.

I agree.  Those sites that take advantage of contributors should go out of business by not getting enough material to sell.  I terminated my contributorship with 123RF.  I hope nobody will sell their good footages there.  When the big customer buys credit at huge discount, contributors are the one to sacrifice their money while rich customer gets break and 123RF make money.  They should be punished by us contributors.  I hope their video clips catalogue will be filled with POS garbage quality stuff very soon.

That sucks.  Their submission process is very slow too.

Have you gotten any sales on pita? I've been thinking of joining. Also what's your experience of Fotolia? They are skunks for the most part in terms of images, but wondering if video is treated differently.

Pixta has been disappointing.  Video clip sales are rare.  Fotolia is so so for photo sales but not much video clip sales.  Revostock is better than both of them for video sales.

My only sale on SS for a video clip was $23 something.

That's still better than the maximum $19.50 you can get from 123RF.  Minimum you get from SS for 1080 full HD video clip is $19 something.

I only sell my video clips at pond5, shutterstock, fotolia and pixta right now, but they don't sell them for that cheap.  Minimum I get is from Shutterstock and it's about $19 for 1080p full HD clip for subscription sales.

This is ridiculous.  Their price for full HD clip is supposed to be $65 and 30% of it is $19.50, I only received $10.90.  They explained to me that the calculation is correct because some buyers buy credits at huge discount thus contributors get much less than we are supposed to get.  I removed all my video files after confirming with 123RF that that's how it is at 123RF.  That means, they sold my 1080p full HD clip for only $35 just because the customer bought credits at huge discount.  I removed all my photos from 123RF too because I don't trust them anymore to protect us contributors.  Please be careful if you decide to sell video clips at 123RF because you may be surprised to get much less than you were supposed to get on a particular transaction just because the big customer bought credits at a huge discount.

Here is their response to my original inquiry.

"We would like to apologize if there was any confusion. Your Earnings are based on the cost of credits used to purchase your content. The more credits a client purchases, the cheaper it is per credit. Sometimes the cost of the credit can go very low as the client purchased a very large amount of credits at a time(big Company), but we have a threshold on the payout when we pay our contributors which is 0.12USD.

As for your case this is the calculation:-
Earning = 10.902
Royalty tier = 30% (Level 1)
1080p Footage credits spend = 65 credits

Earning by cost per credits= 10.902/65 =  0.17 USD (per credits at tier 1, 30% royalty split)
Your Earnings $0.17 is already above the level 1 tier threshold, which shows that the calculation is correct.

Note : Sometimes the cost of the credit can go very low as the client purchased a very large amount of credits at a time, but we have a threshold on the payout when we pay our contributors."
