Oh . my . deity-of-choice!!! ...
i read a post from a woman who said she didnt want her kids to blaspheme xtianity, so she chose to teach them to say "Buddha" when the hit their thumb w a hammer. {much better to curse someone else's god} i learned recently that our responses like that get hard wired & not processed by the normal brain language areas, so it's a difficult habit to break.

that is weird. I had another 4 ai photos accepted today.
maybe write to Mat with file numbers and let him look into this?
I always get the warning as well.
all my other ai images have been accepted when i submitted those w warnings, they did go thru. i suspect it's a bug in their forms my guess is the warning comes if you click ai & 'fictional people' first. the regular 'are there real people' goes away, so you can't choose the 'no' box and it likely doesnt get updated to 'no'. for non-ai this would prevent submit, so there's something weird going on i've set up a test submitting in the 2 ways - when they get reviewed in Sep I'll see if this is confirmed

submitting - have checked both ai gen AND 'people are fictional'
yet still get "potentially missing model release - deselect from submission" (altho it does accept them for 'review' aka 'to be rejected for quality after long wait')

But they take ai images that are generated by their own ai generator. Look through the collection, there is a lot of ai content that is labelled as ai generated.
I guess the difference is it was done on their own engine which is trained on legally licensed content....
i had ai content accepted before the rule change but when i asked if i could with images from their generator, they said 'no'. (maybe you can't submit made with their gen but DL & modified)

NY Times article (paywall) about fake travel guides for sale on amazon. One book used as an example had an AI generated author photo - they pointed out the tell-tale signs.
https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/05/travel/amazon-guidebooks-artificial-intelligence.html
amazon should do better in weeding this print-on-demand fakery out, but the scale of the problem when there are bucketloads of these types of fakes being generated makes it hard even if you are being dilligent...
unfortunately, Amazon doesnt do any examination of self-published works - there are dozens of chatGPT & midjourney help & guides. i have kindle unlimited, i get many books for free (after $9/mo sub). i downloaded one on how chatgpt works by Stephen Wolfram -- an excellent deep dive into the innards of how these work. but now they suggest many others (how to make a million . etc) curious, i took a few, since they're free, and have seen better info coming out the back of a bull. it's becoming another form of multi-lvl marketing and bogus help books previously vomited thru email & online ads

Wait for the photos to go up online and then DMCA them with the host. You own the copyright and they've not paid, so they can potentially have their website taken down for copyright infringement.
Further to that, if they do go online, you can send a second invoice for copyright infringement. Using a copyrighted photo without paying incurs a fine.
Generally, in scenarios like this, the client owns the rights to the images, not the photographer. Unless there is a contract that states otherwise. Though this may depend on the laws of the country where the photography work was done.
in the US it's the reverse the photographer/creator automatically owns the copyright, though knowledgable clients will be sure it's designated 'work for hire'

It depends on what you are looking for,if you want to make a few dollars without commitment it takes some time and work but it can be done, if instead you want to try to earn hundreds or thousands of dollars it is extremely difficult and requires many years of sacrifice and hard work.
there are people who earn thousands of dollars?! thats a lot of dimes.
that's because their RPD isnt a dime! my SS RPD has consistently been $.7-.9 / mo and others report similar - i dont recall anyone reporting an RPD < $.20 that's still a lot of downloads, but other have reported similar incomes

... Santorini never looks like it get's advertised in travel brochures. People everywhere! And I have never seen a couple smiling on their driveway because they just installed solar panels.
The point is: we, as a public, already accept an idealized version of reality, and we know that the real world looks more bleak. ...
actually i have many images of Santorini and other tourist areas with no people - sometimes a few people can be replaced, but traveling off season can give those human-free pix the bigger question is why flood an already flooded market? for my AI i'm concentrating on pix that are difficult or impossible to get otherwise.

... Anyway, I made a copy of the title and key words for all of them so I can resubmit real fast and with a minimum of effort. If Adobe want to play 'silly buggers', so can I.
i've had the same experience w batch rejects but do you not already have the meta data embedded in your images?

One month after the OP, the Adobe Stock genAI collection (tagged; there are more that are not) is over 12 million - 12,004,534
We can celebrate by making a yummy fruit smoothie - although I'm really afraid of this mixer...

The mixer is clearly Borg and in the process of assimilating the kitchen.
Resistance is futile!
or a hand crank?

Hi Everyone, ... I would like to share two updates regarding the submission of generative AI images to Adobe Stock. We have updated the contributor portal and added an additional checkbox that eliminates the need for you to attach a property release for generative AI images featuring people or property that are fictional. ...
great - that's been an ongoing problem - does that include images already in queue? or will they still face rejection?
If you submitted a file before the new checkbox was added, then a release is still required. The checkbox is the replacement for the release.
Thanks,
Mat
it would be useful if AS finally gave us the ability to delete waiting images in bulk - one by one deletion is a pain for dozens of images

sorry, it's still not clear - are you including the monthly distribution payment or just the total RPD of images?
LOL, not sure if you are trolling me.
I assume by "monthly distribution payment" you mean the one labelled as "Elements" The one that comes in as one big payment (sorry I have never heard it called that). Yes, this is what I'm talking about.
"Individual Sales" are a microscopic number of sales and percentage of total earnings and not really relevant to the discussion. They have very little impact on RPD since elements payments started.
THIS:

i never troll -- it just wasn't clear if you were including the mnthly payments, so it's clear now. - as i've posted my Canva payments have tripled since that system was started

I don't know how to explain it more clearly.
The actual total payment I get has dropped massively as a product of the per dl payment within the scheme dropping. This is within the same scheme and after the end of double payments. I.e. not a result of the change to the new scheme or end of the double payments. I am talking about the big payment we get, not the individual dls.
It has been discussed in detail here several times before and lots of people have same same results.
sorry, it's still not clear - are you including the monthly distribution payment or just the total RPD of images?

When I started, back in the mid teens, Id make several hundred a month at DP.
Now I cant remember the last time I got a payout.
i never rec'd much from them either & they were pushing my shopify images down on google searches, so I dropped them some months ago same for 123rf - they have good SEO presence but it doesn't translate into sales. i finally got another payout from them and will be canceling shortly

They have cut payments per download by something like 10X. They now pay template creators out of same pool as us. Saw it coming but as they captured so much of the market had to upload or stop making a living. Really sucks.
Edit: Weird how much outrage there was about SS cutting minimum paymet by 3-4X while Canva cut payment by 10X+ with little or no pushback.
that's out of context - yes per image payments are down by 75% but with their monthly distribution i now consistently get 3x what i used to make -- and that's about the same as i get from AS
To be clear I am talking about them dropping the payment per dl in the current scheme. Not the change from per dl to the monthly distribution. They have dropped the payment per dl by something like 10X in the current scheme. My earnings have something like halved dispite massively increasing dls.
and i'm talking about total income and don't particularly care about individual sales when my monthly income triples. or are you notseeing a offsetting payment from the monthly distribution?

Highroller in Portland does the best lobster rolls anywhere (just in case someone wants to compare the real thing with this imposter Adobe Stock has accepted
them's fightin' words & you're cracking open a new debate... My wife grew up on Mount Desert Island, Maine, & one our favorites, among several others, was Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard of course, we didnt go out too often as her brother was a lobsterman

OK another batch of these....
More idiocy though. Editorial photos of busy billboards and signs at a shopping street in downtown Tokyo. Rejected for translation required. Am i really expected to translate 40 billboards and roadsigns on editorial now? Also editorial photos of crowds at a busy temple. Again translation required presumably because the massive lantern at the end has symbols on it. (which is the temples name).
If they are going to push this it rapidly becomes unworkable for editorial in particular as you cant edit it. And im more convinced theres AI scanning for "text".
Oddly some near identical images of the temple with the same framing got through.
yes, i just resub those & they're usually maccepted and it's silly in the firstp.lace to think temples are broadcasting some sort of offensive message

Does shutterstock "officially" accept AI content now?
Not from contributors - see this page
https://support.submit.shutterstock.com/s/article/Content-Policy-Updates-AI-generated-Content
The points raised here apply to any agency accepting content generated by Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion ... (emphasis mine)
"... although we developed an AI tool that generates images, Shutterstock will not allow AI-generated content to be submitted by contributors for licensing on our platform....
...we want to ensure contributors can prove IP ownership of all submitted content. Since AI content generation models leverage the IP of many artists and their content, AI-generated content ownership cannot be assigned to an individual. ... Given the availability of various AI content generation models in the marketplace, we are unable to verify the model source for most AI-generated content and therefore are unable to ensure all artists who were involved in the generation of each piece of content are compensated."
yes, SS won't accept images made w their app!

slow month for all agencies -- but AS is still just 60% of AS, and , since canva payments lag by a month, both canva & SS usually surpass AS
