7 sales so far.. not bad. The strange thing that among those sales, 1 clip is sold 4 times this month (and 2 times last month): this clip is never sold at Shutterstock nor Pond5:

That's a good thing.  Their customers may be different from SS and P5's customers.

The following on Creative Cow for complementary downloads. Can't understand why it would be slow... wait... unless of course you're not getting paid for this.

That's from their own collection only.  Not our video clips.

In my case Videoblocks has picked up big time and is running second to Pond5, most of my content is on Pond5 but eventually I hope to have it all up on three main sites, SS is completely dead for me for some reason.  Just adjusted my prices a bit on Pond5 and am averaging 5-14 sales a day but with only 2000 files on Videoblocks I saw a sudden increase in sale there in October.  Hopefully it keeps increasing.  The one thing I have going for me is unique content, I have what not everyone else has.

It's good to have all the major players join VideoBlocks.  It'll benefit all of us contributors.

6 sales so far, definitely slower than the last month. No refunds -yet-.

I luckily had no refund yet.  I'll be pissed if they do that nonsense.

I don't know what happened.

Over the last few months you've started six or seven threads all singing the praises of VideoBlocks, all saying how good your sales are and how much money you are making.  You basically advertised your success and opened the doors for every man and his dog to bombard Videoblocks with submissions, all wanting a piece of the pie.

If your sales are down, it's because sales have been diluted by the wave of new submissions, and for this you have only one person to blame - yourself.

Next time when you discover something good in life, follow a basic simple rule - KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.

I hope you don't teach your children this, I'd rather live in a different society.
- Without contributors there is no agency to sell your footage. More contributors make an agency more valid.
- Compete on quality/diversity. I would be afraid if I only offered generic shots.
- Share your knowledge, help people so they may help you in return. Applicable in general life.
Thank you helloitsme for telling me about VB.

About sales, none last month, but 2 this month. Not very good.

Thank you ccbcc!!!

Yes, there's nothing wrong with helping our fellow contributors each other and grow/prosper together!

and to support an agency that pays us well too.

So, how's your sales in October at VideoBlocks?

So far I had one sale and one refund, net zero.

That sucks.

482
So, how's your sales in October at VideoBlocks?

483
NOPE.  Waste of time.

484
There should never be 'REFUND" by a stock agency.  Customer already downloaded our video and may be using somewhere.  How can there be refund?  It doesn't make sense.

I don't think that's the case.  Something is happening at VideoBlocks that we don't know.

Ain't nothing wrong with sharing information so that my fellow stock video contributors can succeed too and to support an agency that pays us well.

If you are jealous at others' success, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND CRY.

Same here. Plenty of sales in September. October - no sales and one refund.

It's very weird how things are at VideoBlocks this month suddenly.  It's like what is happening?

Is there somewhere to go to set all of your extended license prices in bulk?

You can send me an email and I will put in the request for you. I have experimented with EL pricing in my personal portfolio and found very few sales when maximizing the price at 100 credits. Customers are very price sensitive as many that buy extended licenses are buying multiple images. For me, I decided that 60 credits was the right price. I still don't see a large volume of EL sales but definitely more than I did when set to 100. If the price is lower you will probably find more sales. You'll need to decide for yourself of course if you think the volume will counter the lower price.

My email address is: [email protected]

With all due respect, Mat, I beg to differ!
I maximised all my ELs to 100 and I already had two ELs this month. And I have a tiny 350+ files port!
Everyone should maximise their EL's.
These are not licenses for casual bloggers, but for big businesses with big budgets!

I think Mat is just being honest and giving opinion based on his own experience without any agenda/conspiracy to keep the price low.  The price point that the contributor makes the most money will give Fotolia the most money as well.  I may price some at 60 and others at 100 to see what happens.  I wish I can batch change the price rather than doing it one by one.

I could never get a high ranking there even when uploading 3,000 images.

With that kind of mentality, you'll never get a high ranking.

You need to focus on quality and what's in demand instead.

490
... I am SOOOOOO HAPPY I am no longer with them.

Same here. I am also happy you are no longer with them ;)

LOL!

This is the best post!!

Best selling full HD clips on Pond5 are priced between $60-80.   Just because some clips are priced much less than that, production companies and TV stations don't buy them.

492
I know, didn't I say something like that in the other thread  ;)

Maybe he's actually a standup comedian.

He's not funny.

LOL!

Their ranking system is a joke. It is INTENDED to control YOUR commissions. Think of the payouts they would have to make to people who keep uploading content if their ranking system were honest.  I could never get a high ranking there even when uploading 3,000 images.  This system was adopted by Istock and 123 as ways to control commissions.  By pushing new contributors they would pay less because they are in the base tier and lucky if they ever hit silver.  With all the other scum bag moves FOTOLIA has done I am SOOOOOO HAPPY I am no longer with them.  It is also hilarious that Mat is in here inferring that you sell your EL's at a lower price to get more sales. That is every agencie's go to logic when they want you to accept less so they can enjoy more.

Nothing personal, but please stop with the negativity and conspiracy theories. Others are starting to believe it without any evidence. Maybe that's your plan after all, to get others to stop uploading so you can have less competition. Other people are nicer with their comments and I'm a bit more honest.

This kind of self-defeatist attitude is what's preventing people from being more successful. I see it all the time and it's often the #1 reason why they don't break into the next level. When you expect to lose the battle, you already lost.

I agree.

If everybody is having a problem with an agency, such as Dissolve and Revostock, it's usually their problem.  If you are the only one having a problem, it's probably you who is causing the problem.  Matt just works for Fotolia and does his job communicating with contributors on this board.  He is a fellow contributor too.  We are all in this together benefiting from each other.

495
I hope Adobestock will cultivate new stock photo buyers without taking share from other agency.

496
can we also tell our earning based on rating? I am about 4000-5000 weekly rank end earn about 50-70 credits monthly.

I'm around 1,000 weekly rank and 250 or so monthly credits.

497
I have nearly 2,000 photos.

498
2220

300 was my record

That's a wide spread!  My best was in 700s or so.

499
Shutterstock pays $28 to contributor for an enhanced photo sale which they sell for about $100/photo or less.  I want to make the same amount of money from an extended use sale on Fotolia.  So, I think I should price at 70 on Fotolia.  Problem is that the default price of 30 is too low.  It should be 50.

500
I hope they'll pay more for sensitive use like Shutterstock so that whatever the percentage you make from extended license isn't the maximum you can get at Fotolia.

Sensitive use is not allowed with Fotolia/Adobe Stock licenses.

OK, I didn't know.  Thanks.
