I now offically have the worst earnings since 2014.
It's collapsed by 20% and SS and Alamy are the worst followed by the debacle at Envato

Yeah but that is a gross revenue graph which bears no reality to what you actually receive.
My gross chart is almost exactly the same as yours but net revenue is exactly the same as the last couple of years i.e. flat
Though the numbers sold have increased very nicely the money didn't
I started with them in 2011

Perfect example of proof by using a terrible example. One word search for Landscape? Are you joking? What buyer would do that? Landscape
Consider I did not want to test a buyer vision, I just wanted to observe recent submissions. Try this : https://www.shutterstock.com/fr/search?sort=newest&image_type=photo
Better for you?
just look the ss forum , some thread like doom and gloom or that guy who wanna upload 10000 photos....then you realize. for me it's unbieleavbel why they keep accepting that stuff..if i were a customer i would pay the dollar more to brows serious collection like stocksy or even stock i s much better with much less garbage. they are losing market share day by day...their 4q keep losing growth and probably next will be red numbers....they keep losing enterprise customer...shouldn't they realize that the problem is their collectioN? had they ever browsed unsplash? pixabay...i fell better looking unsplash collection for each keyword than ss for sure....ahow we can blame customer who buy to unsplash...better images, more creative, right now covering the needs of many customers, and free!
That 10000 guy is the dumbest idiot I've ever seen in stock and when anybody tries to help him, he turns mean an attacks them. 10000 bad pictures he thinks he'll make money but he'll make nothing and complain that shutterstock is the problem. SS should charge to hold his pictures for the space they waste.
Ahh you must be talking about Joe Grossinger? Yes he is an odd character keeps going about being too busy to post on the forum whilst busying himself posting on the forum Just another character who will shortly disappear

How many QC stars have you got? If you are 5*, your files are accepted and you can manage them within seconds/minutes depending on batch size, and they go live at the next database update.
I believe the max number of stars is 3.
It's 5. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5sjltxqgo32rupg/FiveStar.jpg?dl=0
Yes I've read that and on the Alamy forum, but apparently not for everyone. Maybe it's a rolling update?
Maybe someone can explain why I have different numbers of images, 82 more, when I look at Image Manager than when I look at the total on Contributor Dashboard or my portfolio?
Maybe but looking at the forum the ones who have 5 stars are the ones who have been submitting a long time with next to zero QC rejections. I myself have 5 stars but a relative who doesn't upload much is still on 3 stars

Its shocking to see how bad istock have become especially exclusive But for me the saddest part is I have this year made less money than I did over any year since 2013 and most of those losses are purely down to the crappy cuts and deals these so-called agencies are doing.

What is happening at Envato is basically a push to one of the lowest subscription schemes Envato Elements.
Also the 10 items upload weekly limit is a joke for any serious contributor that does this full time. I am at Envato have have sales there but because of the limits every month Pond5 and Shutterstock % income is increasing while Envato is becoming marginal. I don't upload there anymore since months because that form of tickle uploads disrupts my workflow. Also batch changing keywords etc is a nightmare.
You really need to improve in many fronts to make it a contributor friendly site.
I agree with everything you said. Envato used to make around $250 to $300 a month but its now down to $5 to 10$ if I'm lucky. It doesn't matter what you upload or how many the revenues are p*ss poor with sales of 1 cent. I stopped uploading I can't be bothered with sites like this.

I have uploaded two editorial images and each time I clicked on the Editorial Only box. One of the two images was rejected with the reason that I need to click the editorial box. I uploaded it again and made sure I did click the Editorial box and it was again rejected with the reason that I need to click the Editorial box. Is there a point uploading it again. My approval rating is simply dropping for nothing. SS accepted that photo. Should I write to them or just forget about it?
Its quite simple you tick the editorial box and then have to select the "editorial" category on the second tab. If you don't they reject it.

Why bite the hand that feeds you? Yes I know China is an evil dictatorship. I would not want to live there. But it is seemingly a well managed dictatorship, as long as you are han Chinese your lives have gotten better over the decades. If you are Muslim, well that is just really unfortunate, open air concentration camps and all. Which comes back to why bite the hand that feeds you, I was reading about how pretty much all the muslim governments around the world keeps their mouth shut about China's repression of its Muslim minority, they don't want to bite the hands that feed them. China is too important to them economically. I read that a few years ago Turkey's president said something about China's treatment of its Muslims and then China let Turkey know how displeased they were by Turkey's comment and Turkey has never brought it back up again.
In the 1930's some people also said similar things about Germany under Adolf Hitler. And Mussolini's fascist Italy there was the usual comments about the trains running on time amongst others on how well managed things were. Western countries don't give a sh*t about human rights just so long as they can get their latest phones on the cheap.

What a disaster!
It'd be funny if it was a page one never used, but it'll just increase my use of the mobile app on my phone. They should be embarrassed that US cities appear to be roughly correct, but everywhere else is thousands of miles off and frequently in the ocean vs. on land!
Worse, the one link I want to use - to my earnings summary - is now off the page (on a large monitor) requiring a scroll.
I guess this is the genius behind these latest moves - and I can't imagine any contributor asked for these changes.

This POS is what happens when you have people who know nothing about the users messing with the UI so they can be seen to be "doing something"
Tossers!
I really agree with you Jo Ann ~ I find it unbelievable that these people think its a "cool idea" to issue and update without even doing some basic checks to see if it actually works correctly. Talk about amateur hour Tossers +1

I use Sony and they have single card slots and in 10 years I never had a defective card.
I always format and check the card before and during shooting and carry a spare card.

I've emailed them ( [email protected])twice over the last month and had no reply. No sales for 2 years. Of course their terms and conditions say if you close your account your forfeit all earnings under the $50 threshold I was rather hoping to get the $30 on my account

Guess from own curiosity. Reading older threads and opinions, I am trying to understand if bonus is linked to selling numbers?
The Envato/Photodune bonus is linked to how many images are accepted by them in a 90 day period i.e. 10 images per 90 days. But even if you get the required number of images accepted you certainly do not get anything like the 50% bonus they provided up to June 2019. Now its a few dollars if that. And even though I uploaded images and they were accepted I still didn't get any bonus in September or October.

@Noedelhap apologis for the offtopic.
@Bad Robot
if you don't mind can you share your envato sales number for May -Jun vs Jul - Aug 2019?
May 2019 $267.89 bonus June 2019 $224.41 bonus
then July 2019 $9.43 bonus August $10.63 bonus Sept. $0.00 Oct. $0.00
The revenue share scheme is a joke "based on my own actual observation of what they actually did"
Oh and they sold 80 of my images in October and I made a grand total of $13.67 or $0.17 per sale which is way below par compared to other agencies.
Hi George any reason why you want to know?

« on: December 01, 2019, 14:43 »
Seriously why even worry about it.
Agencies like SS don't care and you'll give yourself ulcers thinking about it.
Just let SS carry on in their own stupid way until they get a slap from some lawyer
They're just idiot kids play acting business professionals.

Thanks for the article Jo Ann its a depressing read.
Basically the same old story on how agencies continue to screw over contributors and most contributors appear happy to allow it to happen.

And for some reason that makes me the anti-*, a blatant liar, a shill, probably some descendant of Hitler. I just don't get where you're getting this from... where the vitriol, is coming from?!
Sorry but I called you a shill; in no way did I mention you being a descendent of Hitler and its not vitriol I state the facts and you have a hissy fit I just don't get where you're getting this from... And thanks for clarifying that Envato don't give a sh*t about photos/photodune I'll stop uploading there and delete the account and go make money at a real agency that doesn't operate a share scheme like theirs. P.S. I've never watched Breaking Bad

Guys, I value everyone's opinion in my thread and I'm looking forward to see more people adding insight on the revenue sharing model, but take your personal fights somewhere else, please.
Its not a personal fight I just just dislike blatantly inaccurate information being passed off by by people with a vested interest in promoting Envato and then making veiled threats to "ban". But I digress as to the revenue scheme operated by the likes of Envato it isn't worth the paper its written on. They started a share scheme 2 years ago and then pulled the legs from under it in June once they got their hands on "high quality images". The revenue is now shared amongst their pet photographers, anyone else gets crumbs or nothing.
