You are lucky. SS sales generally in freefall.

Massive Royalty Free Still deduction - is this a refund or what?
![]() Terrible month. Was hoping for something to make up for collapse at SS. But no....... ![]() PS Does anybody know what Royalty Free Still actually is? 56
Adobe Stock / Re: Two new Adobe Stock features« on: October 19, 2017, 07:44 »
Nice idea but time is an issue. Please can we have searching portfolio by keyword and allowing shift-click or select all to easily add groups of images?

New Sites - General / Re: Storyblocks approved images« on: October 19, 2017, 01:49 »
I shouldn't worry. No sales anyway from a few hundred images sent to test (including generally good sellers).
Also, irritating odd ftp system where you have to change login very time (or use their uploader - yeah, we really have time to do that for small and untested sites). ![]() PS100% of nothing is nothing. 58
New Sites - General / Re: OverflightStock« on: October 19, 2017, 01:45 »
Very niche for photogs - few able to contribute. No mention of how many buyers.
No contributor backend??? No control of financial stuff??? Or your vids??? I think you answered your own question. PS 50% of nothing is nothing. 59
General Stock Discussion / Re: Almany (Uploading is a Pain)« on: October 16, 2017, 14:57 »
Terrible now. Worse than before. Requires several 'clicks' to get one to 'take' when prioritizing keywords, no idea if the optional stuff is worth doing...... In addition, if you do mixed batches, to avoid messing up, virtually each photo has to be done separately.......
Awful. 60

General Stock Discussion / Re: Getting Started - which MS Agencies for MY style of photography ?« on: October 15, 2017, 01:32 »
If you aren't prepared to accept pennies per downloads - but multiple sales if it goes well - then microstock is not for you! End of story.
Be wary of large percentages and remember that 100% or zero is - well - zero. In my view, you will need a great site (whichever you choose) and FOR YOU TO DO lots of direct marketing to galleries, publishers etc - as well as luck - to get a bigger percentage and higher value sales. Even if your photos are absolutely stunning this is an oversupplied market and the agencies are out to win..... 63
New Sites - General / Re: 500px distributors« on: October 11, 2017, 03:03 »
OK, no email from them so probably sold nothing - though a few months back I got a tenner!
However, I can't even FIND the place on the site where it shown sales any more..... Am I being dozy or is it hidden (I find the whole 500px setup really unintuitive and over complicated, I must say). Anyway, a shove in the direction of seeing what has (or has not) been sold would be appreciated. Cheers. 64
GLStock / Re: Any signs of life?« on: October 09, 2017, 09:26 »
So we have rebranding per their email - GLStock.com.
New stuff for buyers - no mention of new stuff for contributors, nor new marketing initiatives.....so a bit disappointing.....had hoped for something new..... We'll see...... 65

Just can't get anything to run. Just seizes up.
Will uninstall and reinstall. If that fails - anybody know of a good alternative? 67
General Stock Discussion / Re: Is what you are currently doing working?« on: October 06, 2017, 00:59 »
"Yes, your images are probably already in our organic search results if they are listed with an agency. Using our paid Advertising or Platform replaces your images within our search results, and sends the buyer straight to your site or selling page where you make/keep more money."
ok - some useful info. Instead on an image appearing directing to SS it points to my site where in theory I can earn more. So the '500 images' relates to - how many images are on my site? Or how many links I get? Or how many sales I get? 68
General Stock Discussion / Re: Is what you are currently doing working?« on: October 05, 2017, 04:16 »
Thanks Jo Ann Snover. I have also looked at the site.
I remain confused. This site is a bit like Google Images which also links to my pics (and then - hopefully - an Agency). (Lots of my pics are already on Picturengine through assorted agencies and I have paid nothing.) But if I want to include my own website (set my own prices etc) then (unlike Google Images) it will only find me if I pay a fee. Is that right? I have no idea what Sales and Delivery means if it is a search engine. I'm sure I'm missing something here..... 70

Any chance in Europe? All seen as one country - no expenses paid for briefs from Barcelona to Vladivostok! Jolly dee. 74
General Stock Discussion / Re: Ever heard of premiumphotos.net ?« on: September 13, 2017, 02:27 »
hmmmm...no info about them. At all.
They want LOTS of pics. Which presumably get sent to 'affiliates' to sell. Who knows... The whole JVZoo product range sounds to me like a kind of pyramid sales thing (just Google it).... Doesn't sound my cup of tea. 75
Shutterstock.com / Reference pic - where?« on: September 13, 2017, 01:26 »
I am failing to get ANY of this series accepted: they involve a photo of me isolated and turned into a silhouette.
At first I attached just an MR - was told it needed a reference image. Then I sent up both - and am told the Reference image was sent 'in the wrong field'. (I sent it as a second MR as it clearly is not a Property Release. There are just the 2 options.) Any ideas please? |
