Hi Sebastian,
As you are aware we are paying back contributors 100% commission and a top up for the sales that happened in September. Regarding the sales you have recently seen in December these are not additional sales by the distributor and is an error in the way it has been displayed in your balance of account.
We are aware of this and checking this with our billing team, once the changes have been corrected when will let you know.
Kind regards,
Chantelle

On my dashboard is shows that I am having fees removed from each sale (like normal). I just received a response from their contributor team that this is in error due to technical issues. It is supposed to be a top up but their system still took commissions. They said that was in error and will get back to me. Geeze.
Same for me: Hi Sebastian,
This seems to be an error on our side and our team are looking into this. Hopefully, this will be rectified as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
ChantelleAnd this after they sent me the same message again and I told them to read my emails for real and stop giving me copy paste.... Hi Sebastian, After working with the distributor and as a gesture of good will, we are now going to rebill these images as a top up payment in your account, with the sale price being slightly higher than previously. These arent new licenses but are top up payments and you will see this reflected in your account over the coming days. This top up payment will also include the 100% commission that we were due to pay back to you from the corresponding sale(s) in September. Once again were sorry that this happened and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Many Thanks,
LouiseThey are so unprofessional ....

Huge drop in earnings last few months. Huge! I will wait few more weeks and if earnings not get recovered, I will delete all images.
The same thing happens also to me... For several months now only one sale.... Very strange. I'm trying to make that $50 and then close my account with them.

Something similar just happened to me. More sales than usual. I think if Adobe would offer a "good and fair contract" for exclusivity I would like to stay with them only. But, unfortunately, when you add up the sales from the other agencies you realize that this is not really possible... Who knows...

over on the Alamy forum they posted

" Hi All,
We're very sorry that due to a technical error on our part some of you who have opted-out of distribution are seeing image sales on your account via distribution sales.
We are aware of the issue that these sales shouldn't have happened for those opted-out of distribution, and we're investigating to establish what happened so we can resolve this as soon as possible. We'll be paying all contributors 100% of the commission from these sales. If you think you shouldn't have seen these distribution sales on your account, you can email [email protected] however we will be getting in touch with everyone affected once we have a clearer picture on the matter.
Thanks,
Alamy

I got a bunch of distro sales from China for 22 to 2 cents for which I get 5 to 0 cents. I'm opted out of China this year. Plus 2 cent sales for which the photographer gets 0 is never ok. They need to put a floor on the amount the photographer gets. It doesn't have to be very high, but it should definitely not be 0.
I just received the same answer from them....

I think it should at least be an optout for selling images to russia when shutterstock dont seem to have any problens selling.
Or maybe all images bought in russia going directly to aid Ukraine.
Good idea

Starting tomorrow, June 7 some of you will have the opportunity to re-nominate photos that are currently in the Free collection, or to nominate new photos for consideration. The window to nominate your photos will be open until June 22.
Hi Mat, thanks for the heads up.
What defines "some of you"?
Because when I look in the contributor portal I see no changes so I will not have the opportunity then, I guess.
I have the same questin as you

I think eventually, we will have to pay them for "having the chance" to have the photos on their platforms...

I've had quite a lot of food photography sell on FAA. They can sell as wall art for kitchens and dining rooms, holiday food (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine, Easter, etc) does well for greeting cards, I've sold several as jigsaw puzzles, a cake printed on a tapestry (of all things!). Heck, someone even purchased one of my candy photos printed on a shower curtain. So you never know.
Thanks for the encouragement! I'm really going to try to see if I can "squeeze" anything out of the photos I already have.

Hi, I was also thinking of an alternative to increase my income from stock photography. But, unfortunately, I don't know how many would be willing to buy products with pictures of food. But I don't want to practice another kind of photography just to sell PODs. Anyway, I think the best way is to try and see what happens... Good luck to all!

Same problem.. I stopped uploading pictures as soon as I had the first such sales, couple of month ago. Next month I will try to get out of all those "profitable" sales. If I still have such sales, Alamy will have the same fate for me as Shutterstock ... I'll delete the account and that's it. Eventually, solutions will be found for us as well. Everything is cyclical. I hope

Hi, I don't login often, maybe once a year, but is giving me "those detaisl don't match our records...". I tried to reset password and username, but I don't even get an email, not in Spam folder.
I also had those problems...I exchanged a lot of emails with support, but nothing. I finally figured out that if I wait, say, two hours and then try again, it works.

Hello, I recently bought a new Canon R5 from a Belgium website but the camera came from China (through a third supplier). Everything was fine until I tried to use the cloud function via the image.canon.com website. My camera is sending an email for registration in Chinese via "ciu.canon.com.cn" and I cannot switch to EN. After some research I understood that my only option was to change the PCB (more than 600 EUR). I asked the guys from Canon.be and Canon Europe, they checked the SN from my camera and, indeed, the camera was not made for EU market. They recommended me to send it back because most probably this camera comes from a "gray" market. I asked the seller and after a few emails they told me I could send it back and I would get my money back. My question is if the same thing happened to someone else and if he continued to use the camera. Do you think, regarding accessing the image.canon.com will be other issues with it? I bought it already at a very good price and I don't know whether to return it or not. The seller told me that I will have 2 years of warranty. I don't know if that could be the only downside (the cloud thing). Thank you for your thoughts

Hello,
I did and will continue to do food photography.
In Romania, food prices are at least the same as in Western Europe. Sometimes bigger sometimes smaller. In the case of cameras, the prices are exactly the same (sometimes even higher). With the new "improved" formula of our Shuttesrtok income, I will not accept to sell my humble pictures for 10 cents. The other day I deactivated my video portfolio (around 500 files), and today, after the first pictures sold for 10 cents, I did the same for the pictures (5690 files). I want to mention that I am at level 4 (I still had a little and I was over 10k dollars earned) I find it incredible what those from the "biggest" company in this field could do. We can all see the lack of respect, unprofessionalism and hunger for money and profit. I would be ashamed as CEO of such a company to fool thousands of people and practically steal them. It's really embarrassing! How eager can you become for money ?! Unbelievable! But what I have learned over time is that all evil returns just as good returns. That's why I'm convinced that in the end the fact that I deactivated both portfolios from them is something that will ultimately bring me a higher income!
I hope you don't sell your work and everything you've invested over time for 10 cents!
All the best, Sebastian

Can we sue them? Is there a possibility? There are (in my case at least) 3-4 agencies I still work with. I think the vast majority came to the bottom with patience and indulgence. If there is someone who knows better, he can give us a hand. For me, it is a closed road from now on.
And I was thinking of buying a new camera...

FC I reached 300 videos for 2019 in August, But haven't received the all apps bonus yet. It's been almost 8 weeks. Are the bonuses sent out individually based on when you reached the threshold or are they sent out in batches so some might get them in less time than the 6-8 week time frame and others longer than the 6-8 week time frame?
I have the same problem (with photos)...
