Its a start.
You will move up very quickly with more sales.
my weekly dropped to 1290
If you are 1290, which is very good, what does that say about making money in Microstock? Only 1289 people in the world ahead of you. Very small number of people making a living at this while sales and income are dropping.
Good point. Especially when you know there a lot of companies/groups that we know that sell a lot. So there will only be a small number of individual producers that can reach $3000 or more each month. Pretty depressing if your goal is to make microstock your main income. Unless you live in a country where $100 a month is enough offcourse.
Well, i live in a third world country (Venezuela). However $100 is not enought for living, maybe $500 (for one person with owned house).
Huh. Wow. Where I live - "rent" (not owning) a 1 bedroom apartment is about $1500/month, and that is considered "cheap". And it's not even a big place like New York or Chicago, just a 'relatively small town'... And you are saying in Venezuela you could OWN a home for $500/month? What is life like there?
And... what would it be like (living standards) if you say made $3k USD/month?
Well the cost for rent a room is $200 /month. If you have your own home, probably earning $500 /month would be good. I mean, owner a house, not with $500 you buy a house.Probably you could rent an aparment with $500 /month. $500 for living (one person) note, you have to live in your own home. Here i let you a real state Venezuelan page in some fancy areas of Caracas. You can rent or buy an aparment. https://rentahouse.com.ve/apartamento_en_venta_en_caracas_en_altamira-1.html?priceMin=0&priceMax=0&m2Min=0&m2Max=0&bedroom=1&bathroom=1&orderBy=price%20asc&country=venezuela&operationFromSlug=Venta&propertyTypeFromSlug=Apartamento&state=distrito-metropolitano&countrySlug=venezuela

Does Payoneer or PayPal work in Venezuela?
They both work in Venezuela. (I hope they don't give up, many Venezuelan freelancers get paid using them).

Contrary to what some may believe, $100 is not sufficient to live comfortably anywhere.
As another member pointed out, $500 might enable some people to live "comfortably" in many developing countries. However, they could earn more by focusing on corporate shoots.
Indeed, $500 for just one person expeses (you have to own a home, because you would need instead $700 in order to pay a room $200). $500 would be the base for living (you have to hire a health insurance, because the public health system don't work well). This cost for living in Caracas city,Venezuela (third world country).

You are very welcome.
Glad to meet someone here who is still interested in making money with stock!
Yesterday I sold a simple clip with flowers for 8 dollars that I uploaded to adobe in 2013
I think as I add more videos, my sales will grow.
And you keep reading how people with around 8k clips make 800-1200 dollars a month just on adobe with video.
Now with istock and ss merging clips will probably also sell better with them, if they merge their customer groups.
So all the best with your video journey.

Yesterday was the best day of the year for me on adobe
71 dl, 19 ai, 52 camera
Valentine is over, so it will drop. But it was a fun day.
pos 1260. 7830files
As someone heard a long time ago, in this forum or another,"keep uploading!" I think that's the secret, that also works on social networks like TikTok, I know of people who have accounts on TikTok, their content is not good, but they have a lot of followers but it's because they continue uploading content every day.

"Dreamstime makes it extremely easy to upload." extremely??
For me it is one of the most tedious to upload, so much so that I hardly upload anything there anymore. 2023 stopped selling me almost nothing, and in 2024 nothing. Port of almost 30k images.
+1
Yes, uploading 10 files is "extremely easy" anywhere, try 100, 1000 will cost you hours while same quantity are uploaded in Adobe in minutes. Dreamstime has a vintage submission system suitable for retired people who have all the time in the world. Nevertheless it is sympathetic agency and I hope it will be around for many years.
I want to leave DT due to very few sales but I've only just over $26 in my balance. I've Uploaded videos which pay more but no sales. And the rate of sales hasn't increased at all even though I steadily increased my port to about 1500 photos & videos
Are videos good paying in Dreamstime?

I just finished scheduling a BUNCH of models for this coming week and thought I'd share where I got them all. The full post is on my blog but I thought I'd post some of it here too. The "..." tells you where I cut down.
1) ModelMayhem - ....To find models in your area, click Browse, then choose your criteria. I always keep it as open as possible, sorting by recent activity so you know theyre still on MM actively...
2) Craigslist - ...We got the basic structure for (our ad) off of the LuckyOliver forums, adapted it to our needs, added some of our photos from stock shoots and we try to tell everyone straight up front what the shoot is going to be like so we dont get a lot of rejected models...
3) Friends - ...The best tip I got was from (I think?) Andres Rodriguez who said he asks models at the end of a shoot if they know anyone whod like to have some fun & do a similar shoot...
4) Anywhere - ...Try this - Hiuhm, Im a professional photographer and I think youd make an awesome model. Im going to give you my card & let you check out my stuff online. Call me if you want to get together for a free shoot. Then walk away. Make your site good enough that people actually call, too! ... ------- Anyways, hope that helps someone - we are going to be ridiculously busy this week but I'm pretty far behind in an upload contest so I need to get working!
~m
How much money do you pay the models? What happens if the photos from the session for the stock image photos are used in something that the model does not like?

20% royalty cut for P5 Exclusives is a significant reduction.
Perhaps time to drop P5 Exl and apply to BlackBox to try the "spray and pray" approach.
Pond5 is going in the same direction as Shutterstock, 10% royalty, give time to time!

Pond5 (aka Shutterstock) is so proud of its Trustpilot record that it displays it every time you open their page. Now, let's see how quickly they will hide it when the tables turn after today's exciting news.
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha!

I don't know where do people put their faces who promoted for pond5 exclusivity even after Shutterstock purchasing Pond5?

What do you expect from a Shutterstock company? Lot of people here love Shutterstock and youtubers, tiktokers are worst, i don't understand!

No, you obviously CANNOT have the same video on blackbox and on pond5 and adobe.
That is the whole point, you give them exclusive content and they distribute it.
Always the complete shoot. But all your other shootings can go to anywhere else.
But you cannot break up a shoot and give 2 files to bb, two to pond5 or adobe.
It is not complicated and the way high end agencies usually work.
But again, you don't have to work with them. If you feel unsure, just keep uploading directly.
Thanks!

That is what I meant, it is no longer a simple signup.
A demoreel is just a short video with examples of your work pasted together. You can host it on youtube, vimeo or probably also on your website.
If you have video experience, just make a little clip with examples of what kind of clips you want to provide to them.
I think this is a good idea, it means there is a team really looking at what you do.
You have similar sign up requirements when you apply for stocksy or cavan or a house contract with gettyimages, not istock.
It is a professional work environment.
You apply, they select.
And a process like this keeps spammers away.
In order to work with BB. Do you have to be exclusive with them? Could i have the same videos in POND5 and Adobe Stock?

I tried to register in BB, but is a little difficult for me, they ask you for severals things such as Demo Reel Link!

I used to get my videos reviewed under a week, but this is the first time in a long time that it's been longer than 17 days and still nothing.
Anyone else experiencing long review times for videos recently?
I have a video for review and it has 14 days pending for review and counting and nothing! Maybe reviewers are busy with AI content, maybe AI content is priority!

My average for dreamstime this year is around 77 cents.
I get most sales for 35 cents and sometimes for 2 dollars, sometimes also a special sale for 15 dollars. Videos sell for 3.70 - 10.31
I have around 4700 files.
Longterm I hope to get a payout every three months but at the moment I am happy with one payout a year.
Upload is very easy and they usually sell files that never get a sale on Adobe, so I see it as an easy add on.
It will probably become interesting when I have 30k files...in 10 years or so...
Do you think in 10 years Dreamstime would be alive? I have read here, several times, microstock business is downhill!
